- Q:I purchased the chair about 3-4 yrs ago from Pier 1 Imports and they told me it was discontinued. The chair is called Madison Chair #13010 Fab#9470. It is a paisley arm chair.
- You might want to cut a small piece of material from the bottom of the chair and take it to a fabric store and see if they have the same fabric, then you can have a another chair covered in the same fabric. Sometimes if you can find out who the manufacturer of the material is, you can call them and see if they still have it and where you can purchase it. Other than that look on Ebay or Craig's list and see if you can find a match to your chair. Hope this helps.
- Q:Anyone else does this? After about 10-15 minutes of sitting on a chair, I notice my butt is right on the edge, so I have to stand up and sit again properly. Getting very annoying.
- most likely cuz your original 'sit' is not proper...you are suppose to sit with your tailbone against the back of the chair, not on the seat of the chair...most of us sit with the tailbone on the seat cuz we'll feel foolish to sit like a 2y/o with our feet up in the air since the cushion's depth fits a 6'8 male thigh...once you sit with your tailbone on the seat, your upper trunk posturing is actually behind the line of gravity...so then our shoulders blades start slowly adding more pressure, therefore more pressure curvature to the lower spine, gravity starts to slowly pull you down until your almost anything but falling off the seat...sit upright, like your mom bopped you on the head for a million one times..in those real deep chairs, ya need an extra cushion behind you until manufacturers start getting sued over their dysfunctional setup of chairs sofas...we think we're comfortable there, but it ruins everyone's back...car seats are not an exception either....
- Q:I can snowboard perfectly fine down the slopes, I have no problem with balance or turning or anything like that. But every single time I get off of a chair lift I eat s**t. I try and do everything the people tell me, I even got a grip on my board but my boots slips right off, and my board is shiny which again makes it super slippery. I have tried putting my foot against the back binding but again my foot just slips out of position as soon as my board touches down on the snow ramp thing.! In the end I had to ask the guy to stop the chair lift and let me off so I didnt injury myself some more. Please help we are going up again in a few weeks and I dont wanna stack every time. Thanks any help is appreciated.

I am a complete music freak, so second chair is extremely horrible for me. And I’m even more depressed now. I’m already depressed about other things, and this is making it even worse. So now I feel extremely stupid for getting second chair…so…what should I do??!
- Meico: Is it possible your musical ability has outpaced your public performance skills, which may be more typical for your age? When I was your age I was talented beyond my years, but in certain situations my body showed signs of nervousness. I had trouble playing guitar standing up because my knees would shake. This would only happen when the audience was very attentive. I guess I felt a bit under the microscope. In more casual situations my nervousness was mostly excitement, and I could deal with it. Here are two suggestions that might prove useful. When you're preparing for an audition, sit back in a comfortable chair in a quiet room. Close your eyes and imagine yourself performing. Pay attention to your muscles. Don't allow yourself to tense up. You're performing at your best, the listeners are hearing your best, and, although you may be a bit nervous, it is only impacting your performance in a positive way. Practice your pieces in your mind this way and - very important - accept that you are indeed this kind of performer, one who does well under pressure. If possible, find a critical audience or listener to perform for as a preparation for an audition. Think about it: it's easy to practice the music, but how do you practice being in front of an adjudicator? You might just have to carry on until you've auditioned enough times and gained enough experience to overcome the problem. Good luck.
- Q:I have a pretty basic office swivel chair, but the back of it is now very wobbly. It tilts to the right and back a bit most of the time, but can be rotated to stay upright like a normal chair back. I checked underneath the chair and it seems like there's nothing there to really secure the connection to the back. I've also tried tightening that knob on the bottom of the chair but it doesn't do anything. What can I do about this??
- Tell your supervisor, if he/she is descent management material you should have your new office chair within a couple of days. Any work equipment issues should be brought up to a supervisor, your job title isnt chair specialist or office mechanic.
- Q:I have this really greata office chair that my neighbor was just oging to through out... it has some tears in it ...and i am unsure of how to go about fixing it. the material isn't close enough to stitch... my mom suggested getting a peice of fabric to cover it and stitch that to the chair...i honestly dont care about the looks just that i dont ruin it more... would a regualr needle and thread hold against leather if i just put a peice over it...
- As a professional upholsterer I can tell you there is NO easy and effective way to patch/repair leather. There are a lot of repair kits available that promise miracle cures but they will at best do nothing and at worst damage the leather further. Since you don't care about the appearance of the chair, simply remove the damaged leather and replace it. Leather is expensive so you might consider some type of cloth or vinyl. Cloth is softer and more comfortable and will last longer than vinyl, but is easily stained. Vinyl is cheaper than a good grade of cloth and easier to keep clean, but is hot and sticky in the summer and cold and stiff in the winter. This leads to cracks in the vinyl and tears in the seams. This means vinyl will not last as long as cloth. If you do decide to recover the chair then know that no matter what kind of chair it is you can cover it without sewing!!! If it has sewn corners you can replace the sewn seams with creative folding. Place the new material on the chair and simply fold the corners. If anyone you know can wrap Christmas presents they can do this. Once you have the folds right attach that corner to the chair. This works best with cloth. First attach all 4 sides with staples or tacks leaving corners loose. Then do corners. Be sure to stretch the material tight to avoid any wrinkles. Hope this helped. Good luck.
- Q:My friend and I have been informed by our lecturer that we need to make something out of concrete and we decided to make a chair. However we are unsure of how to attach the legs to the seat of the chair and the seat to the back. We were also informed of a special paint/substance that can be applied to a mold so that when the concrete has set it can easily be removed from the mold but our lecturer did not know the correct name for it so we are unsure of where to look. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
- You'd have to build a form for the concrete and pour the chair in a couple of different steps. My question for you is how are you going to get a 500 pound chair into class? Unless it's just a small scale chair-there's an idea for you.
- Q:How do you get a fresh stain out of an upholstered chair and it cant be complicated. please help.
- If the stain has set, use Resolve rung and upholstery cleaner.
