Q:I have a stupid fear of electric chairs due to some bad dreams about sitting in one. I'm not a bad person in the death row or anything; I just have an irrational fear. I can't even look at an image of an electric chair without getting nauseous or fainting. Because of this I don't really like sitting in any chairs. Help me! :(
Well first of all I don't believe your fear of sitting in an electric chair is abnormal. You couldn't tempt me into one either! It was used as a symbol for death for many many years here in the US. It was held up as the ultimate price one would pay for doing something serious against the law. So the fear was ingrained in us even as little folks. I don't know your age, but my generation sure wanted nothing to do with the electric chair, and all the ugliness that goes with it. Do you have a fascination with death, as I notice the name you use here on YAN is Korpsie, and that is like asking for trouble. Why would you entertain such a name, when you claim to be afraid of the electric chair? It doesn't jive! It doesn't make sense to me. Your fear, or fascination, with death has overtaken your belief system. It has frightened you so much you are not even willing to sit in ordinary chairs. That is the irrational fear (not the electric chair!) Try to desensitize yourself by allowing yourself to sit in a sofa, or couch, and then move on to a few minutes in a chair, and then keep on doing that until your fear eventually goes away. You may need some therapy to deal with this problem. You spoke of bad dreams about electrical chairs. You know dreams are symbolic? Try to remember your exact dream, as then we can ferret out the real reason you are afraid of an electric chair. Earlier in your Life were you electrocuted by live wires of some sort? Something happened to make you very wary of electricity. Try hard to remember what it was, and then tell it to take a hike, because it's messing with your Life. OK? Good luck to you!
Q:Hi, I am having my wedding ceremony and reception at the same venue. The ceremony will be outside with the reception indoors all on the same grounds. I was wondering if I should rent double the chairs or save money and have the chairs tranfered from outside to inside?

Q:So for my art project we have to create a very creative chair. It's a contest and I really want to do good. It needs to be really original, like not based off of anything(like pacman or a tv show or something). Does anybody have any helpful ideas? Thanks!
I think taking a directors chair, ( they sell them in a lot of places ), and painting a scene on the canvas, of something interesting from a movie... or for example, a quote from a popular movie (one liners). We gotta get a bigger boatJAWS, There's no place like home THE WIZARD OF OZ, etc. Charactures from a Disney movie... Maybe a piano stool and write lyrics to one of your favorite songs.
Q:I looked on ebay couldn't find any, I just don't want to pay $70 for the chair
there was one person selling them on OKorder for $35 a while back. Maybe try buying the foam yourself and stuffing it. I Googled anywhere chair inserts and a bunch of craigslist listings came up, maybe you could buy one second hand.
Q:Anybody have a Adirondack Chairs Videos?maybe you have video about how to make a adirondact chairs using a wood.

Q:In how many ways can five couples be seated in a row of10 chairs if no couple is separated? Explain how youarrived at your answer.
25 cuz thers 5 couples and they must be together so 10/2 = 5 so two per couple right? so thers one couple that can sit in five differebt ways or places on the bench or wat ever. so if theres five couples it would be 5 x 5 = 25
Q:I'm looking for an office chair that cheap, but decent, and it doesn't have to be a brand name.
You okorder /
Q:I'm a web consultant, and I spend many hours at my computer. At worst, I can spend 18 hours or more if I'm finishing up a large project. This is not part time work for me, it's all I do.Currently I have some chair from Staples that was like $125 and my back is killing me. After less than a year the cushion provides no support whatsoever... I just sink down to the plastic immediately.I'll consider spending whatever to get the right chair, I consider it a semi long term investment. I don't want to spend more than I have to though, so keep that in mind.
Sometimes it is best to get the $50 chair with the thickest cushion. Then give that to a friend if it doesn't work out. Then move up the ladder. The $800 chairs can be wonderful but if it doesn't exactly fit your body, you wasted your money. You can never sit in the chair long-enuf in the store to know if it will work.
Q:Maybe a bean bag or recliner.
look at toystores, shops that sell children's supplies, yard sales, 2nd hand shops, build one, OKorder -the options are endless.
Q:Over the years the foam in my leather chair has lost its ability to to firmly support someone. Replacing the foam is not a DIY endeavour. Are there any reupholsters in the Toronto area who can do something like this at a reasonable cost? The ones I have contacted are too pricey.
Hi pc, I would suggest if you have any local Upholstery Schools ( colleges Night Classes etc ) in your area you may want to call them and inquire of any available help with your chair cushion. Many times the students in class are willing to replace and repair as part of the upholstery classes. Which because they are students, this repair may cost you a lot less. Good Luck!
