- Q:I just bought a YUDU. Instead of heat setting the ink by ironing, I was told to get a heat press, it would be faster and easier.
- no, a steam press and heat press are different. heat press is ultra high temp heat - no steam. ironing can still be used with the yudu....but the quality level will be well magnified with a heat press. the designs will hold 10x longer than ironing. you can find some good deals OKorder.
- Q:When wondering if a guy is strong the other person will always ask how much the guy bench presses. But I can kick the crap out of people in football by popping and tackling them and even won a couple fights against people saying they can bench like a 150 pounds. I know they can do it though but I can only bench press 100 pounds like 2 times but am stronger than people who bench more than me. Does it just mean that I have a weak chest or that bench press means nothing or that I;m weak?
- Bench press is a good indicator of overall strength. Benching 150 is pretty weak. 240 is my warm up set.

- Q:I am a little over 21 weeks pregnant and just recently felt the baby move on the outside of my belly pretty good...acutally starting on Friday we could feel the baby kick or move on the outside if I pressed in the area I felt the baby move. I find myself pressing down, not hard, more often trying to feel the baby move...am I doing any harm? I know this sounds like a dumb question but I am worried now because I haven't felt the baby move as much yesterday and into today and I am afraid now that someone is wrong. Help! Is it bad to press on the abdomen to feel the baby move? Can the baby be felt some days and not others at 21 weeks?
- You're not causing any harm to the baby! I do that too, and it's not harmful at all. Remember that the baby is surrounded by amniotic fluid and your uterus, so it's got a few layers of padding protecting it. Also, the doctor presses down when feeling the baby, and doesn't cause any harm! The only thing I'll warn you about is this: it doesn't always work, so don't freak out when it doesn't. It used to work for me all the time, and then around 28 weeks or so, the baby must have shifted position or something and didn't react the same way when I pressed down, and I totally freaked. My doctor reassured me that it was just a change in position, and I still feel my baby move, but the kid still doesn't react like it used to to me pressing my abdomen. The other thing to keep in mind is, you don't have to worry about irregular baby movements until you reach the third trimester. Then, you need to do kick counts and pay attention to the baby's movement patterns, and if the baby doesn't move for a while, it's a cause for concern. But up until then, just enjoy the movements when you do feel them, and don't worry when you don't! Good luck!
- Q:I have seen videos of eye shadow being pressed with alcohol put can you do the same thing with other powders? i.e. concealer, foundation
- I've pressed my own eyeshadows from jars of MAC pigments, and it worked out well. I wouldn't try it with loose powder foundation, like mineral foundation. it may mess up the foundation itself, especially since things like that have oil absorbing stuff in it. its always worth a shot, you can always buy more or break up the stuff you tried to press after all the alcohol evaporated. just make sure you use high concentration alcohol, i think the highest you can find is 92% - it has less fillers so there's less stuff left behind after all the alcohol evaporates
- Q:Could i press a rose for a couple of weeks then put it in a glass picture frame?Will it keep?
- Due to the thickness and amount of moisture in a rose, it would most likely turn Brown, get moldy and/or rot if you pressed it in a phone book. Phone book pressing is good for leaves and flowers that are more on the flat side.. For your Rose, your best bet would be to purchase Silica gel pellets (inexpensive) at a craft store and follow the directions. Silica are small crystals that will suck all of the moisture out. You just layer the silica upon the rose until it is covered completely. In a couple of days it will be preserved (dry) and ready for framing. It will also keep its shape and would be more suitable for a shadowbox frame. The silica can be saved indefinitely and can be reused too :) Good luck to you.
- Q:I noticed I have to use pressed powder to set my foundations but it always ends up coming off throughout the day. I am African American so I need products that go to deeper skin tones. I also need ones that are drugstore prices.
- Select Sheer/Pressed powder from MAC cosmetics works really well. It's not too expensive, it's not tested on animals, it comes in many skin tones, and it really works. It goes on lightly and doesn't look too cakey or fake, but it covers up and looks natural at the same time.
