- Q:I recently bought a hp computer and it came with an IR Blaster Cable which is basically a long thin cord with what looks like an audio-shaped plugin and on the other end is a small red plastic light.Where do I plug this in?What is it used for?I also have another cord that i plugged in, which i think is used for the computer remote to access media, it looks similar but has a little black box receiver thing instead of a red light** also my computer is supposed to have a tv tuner and thus far I havent been able to connect to any tv channels.
- IR stands for Infra Red and an IR blaster is a remote option for things which would otherwise be controlled through a keyboard I guess that IR blaster is for the TV inside your computer One end should go somewhere in the back of the PC where the bum of the TV card is sitting but there should be an added device in which you can plug the other end of the cable

It was professionally edited at my own expense, and contains a montage of sound bite clips of me talking from an hour long interview video that originally appeared on a cable show.Now the interviewer has discovered my website, and is demanding that I have it re-edited to include at least 25% footage of the interviewer asking me questions, inclusion of the show credits segment, and other changes.I have posted a credit with a link to her website, but she says this is not sufficient, and is threatening legal action.Don't I have any fair use rights to use sound bites of my own speech for my promotion without the interviewer's creative control?Thanks for any help.
- Yes, they need a better excuse. I am really getting sick of the tactics which people use to avoid talking about or explaining an issue. One of the tactics used is to say, You are taking that out of context, and another is to say that someone is a racist. These two things are used repeatedly to kill discussion. Sharpton and Jackson are both good for this. It's irritating and I wish that just once they would give a straight answer when defending these racist comments which were made by Wright.
- Q:I have a Sony DCRTRV900 and I used to have a Sony laptop as well with video editing software and Adobe Premier. The computer is old so I need to connect it to a new computer. Is there a firewire to usb cable? And if I use a program like Premier will it control the camera or how do I just import videos and then save or edit? Also, is this camera even worth using anymore? I remember it was about $2800 new, but I'm sure you can buy something new for a lot less.
- MiniDV tape vcams, like your DCR-TRV900 still abound these days, in fact most professionals still use this format/media. The DV format is least compressed and is still one of the best std. def. format for video editing. I have my consumer model since 7 years still working well. Most have commented that firewire/ USB doesn't work haven't tried myself. Transfer/upload thru firewire is the best method. And Yes the video editing app remotely controls connected miniDV vcams on playback during capture/import. These days you can get a new one for less than $200, smaller, lighter, but your model is relatively sturdy and is still used as back-up camera by some prof. Oh and Premiere's latest is CS4. I still have a copy of Premiere 5.

- IF IF IF the cable box remote is a type of Universal remote (most are) you can program the remote to also control the TV set. The manual for the cable box / remote will contain the instructions and the TV codes needed to make it work for your brand or TV set. You did not mention make or model of the box, remote or TV set so if you don't have the manual you will have to go online to the cable box /remote makers site and download the instructions look for the make of your TV set and program in the correct codes.
- Q:Does any body know if there is a universal remote control that has the ability to turn a television on at a preset time? My Samsung in my bedroom of course is one of the few that doesn't have a built-in feature to turn itself on at a certain time.I figure that hey, there are (or were, at least) universal controllers that could be set to record programs on a VCR from a certain time, and to stop at another time, so why can't a remote turn on a TV?

- Q:I have a 90 Chevy 4wd with 5.7l and 700r4 tranny. Apparently I am not getting 12v power down to the torque converter via the wiring. My question is - what controls it? Is it involved in the switch on the brake pedal or is it electronically controlled somehow. Will it be easier to run 12v down to it and use a toggle switch to lock it when doing highway driving in OD? Any info on a temporary or permanent repair helpful!
- The lock feature on your transmission is controlled through the PCM. (Power train Control Module) If you can run a scan on your vehicle it will tell you what is wrong. While the 700R4 is not an electronically controlled transmission, the lockup feature is controlled by the PCM. The proper adjustment of the TV (Throttle Valve) cable is critical as it controls shift points and line pressure. I hope this helps.
