- I think it can sometimes be overused. Especially since most people are under the wrong assumption that they are special fake chairs that wrestlers use. They are not. They are standard chairs that you'd sit on in some meeting hall, and if used incorrectly, they can lead to very real injuries, such as concussions. In fact, after learning about just how dangerous concussions really are, and just how often some wrestlers who take unprotected shots to the head receive concussions, I'd be a very happy wrestling fan to never see an unprotected steel chair shot to the head ever again. Get your hand up and protect yourself! All that being said, I think pro wrestling goes to the steel chair so often is because in the fictional reality that is pro wrestling, it makes sense. They're big and look impressive. They make a loud crack that echos through the crowd. And most importantly, they're always around ringside. It makes perfect sense (in wrestling anyway) for a wrestler to get his hand on a steel chair since they're all over the place. It's a lot less believable when a wrestler gets his hand on say... oh... a cattle prod. (I'm looking at you Scott Hall and Kevin Nash)

- The chair design is called a four back ladder chair because of the four horizontal slats on the back. I want to say that it came from Denmark based on the curved seat design, possibly a Hans Wegner, but I really don't know that for sure. I would guess it's from the mid to late 50's.

- it's totally a confidence thing you just have to know you want that chair and you can't let your nerves get in the way. think about it if you know the music inside and out you deserve the chair! your in controll. tap your foot along to keep a SLOW steady tempo. it may also help to practice in front of some of your friends ahead of time to get used to people being around. - This cheap one I got from walmart is terrible. Looks comfortable but it's not. There's one at work that's amazing. Firm but comfortable. The cadillac of chairs. Probably costs thousands of dollars, that's how office furniture is. You can probably get anything reupholstered if you want to pay for that.

- Yes, I know exactly what you mean! There is this one model made by Fisher Price as well. Let me go find it. Found it! I used this on the kiddo I watch when he was transitioning from two to three and on his cousin when I watched him, when he was a little over a year. You can position the tray, and it scoots up to the table. It just sits in a regular chair. Hope this helps!
