take the wet one off and put the waterproof one on, when the wet one has dried you can have both of the rugs on

Carpet is such a taste thing. I like level loop carpet (like most commercial carpet.) In fact, I like commercial carpet period, as long as it is made of nylon. IN your case, if you use commericial carpeting, make sure it is continuous backing that is water proof. Nylon will not stain, is very easy to clean with a steam extractor (buy one and keep it handy if you have doggies). The most important part is the water proof continuous backing...water cannot penetrate the backing and therefore, will not drag up dirt into the top when the carpet dries! Commercial carpeting is all moving towards squares that, when laid, look like a continuous carpet..the glue used makes it easy to remove and replace a square should it become badly damaged...no problems with the entire carpet! BUT it is expensive (and well worth the money)...figure about 30.00 a yard installed. No padding is used. Furniture does NOT have to be removed from the room. And it will last probably a lifetime under your wear/tear conditions. Install once and be done with it...therefore, choose a neutral tweed...biege with brown, black, gray, copper flecks will go with everything, anything in the future. Good luck, Goldwing

Q:what is the difference between steam cleaninig and deep cleaning? I don't think we have very dirty carpet but it was always suggested by our carpet cleaner (by the way - I hate how they always upsell their services). anyways - I want to have another carpet cleaning soon in the spring and would like to be more educated about this.Bottom line is - if 'steaming cleaning' does not clean... why bother having such service in the first place?

Well, i have to agree with you about steam cleaning. It has been my choice and if done correctly, it does the job. Pre-treating any stains is a must. I do not care for deep cleaning shampoo cleaners. Shampoo cleaning to me, just grinds the dirt down into the carpet and nothing takes it out. Make sense? One mistake i made tho when my carpet was brand new 8 years ago, was that i cleaned it very often. MISTAKE! in order to retain the stain resistant effectiveness of your carpet, you aren't supposed to clean it but about once a year. that doesn't mean you can't spot clean. Somehow when you steam clean, it can get too wet under the padding and cause problems, and the stains come back through. I haven't tried the businesses that use the needle injection cleaning under the padding. Expensive. But also, my mistake was, that after cleaning so often, i didn't spray the carpet with scotch guard after wards, not knowing i had cleaned it so much till i wore off the original stain resistant. voiding my warranty. Any way, hope this makes sense to you. Actually i have done just as good a job renting a steam cleaner and doing it myself as the professionals did, for a whole lot less. I just make sure i get a clean machine and i really look it over good first. I mean, shoot, the professionals use the same machine on other peoples carpets before they do ours. Good luck tho.

Q:Is there a formula that you can tell how many feet are on a roll of Carpet without having to unroll and measure it?

I'm sure you could figure it out, but it would depend on a lot of variables (i.e. total diameter of roll, width of carpet, etc). Would probably be much easier to unroll it in all honesty.

Take photos under the same conditions, taking a photo with the camera without sunlight and adequate lighting. processing is very trouble. compiled carpet is the most suitable for ordinary families. you need to be careful when you buy, seizing the wool and wrenching it with your hand, seeing if it is easy to loose. the wooly carpet is the best.

Q:My dog has now peed on the entire futon. If I rent a a rug doctor (from local grocery store) will it work on a futon? The futon is only about 4inches thick. I'm wondering if the rug doctor will be able to suck up the water it jets out, or if it will just make the futon wet?
