Q:I always brake with my engine. I rarely use my brakes unless I use the engine and the brakes at the same time. When I use the engine for braking, I pull out the clutch a little to graze the engine and that helps slow down. Is that bad? I don t pull the clutch all the way out, just enough to slow me down a little and then I go down some gears and release the lever and slowly come to a stop. The reason I m asking is because lately I ve been hearing a tinking noise when I down shift and use engine braking. It s like i have something on the engine and every full rotation of the engine I hear the clink. It only does this when down shifting and using engine braking. I have an 08 gs500f with 12k miles now.
Most carbs have a bleeder or drain screw where you can at least empty it .
Q:how to check brake fluid in a Suzuki GSXR-600 motorcycle?
The front brake reservoir is on the front brake lever, if it is clear plastic you will see the fluid level, it should be at least half way up but don't fill it to the top. Any spills need to be washed off by soapy water straight away as it dissolves paint. The rear brake, if a disc system, you will find the reservoir near the rear brake lever and the same applies as the front brake.
Q:Let's say I'm going 60 km/h and I want to stop. Do I have to hold the clutch, apply the brakes, and downshift as I slow down until I'm in first gear so that I can stop? Or do I just hold the clutch and apply the brakes until I'm stopped and then downshift to first before I get going again? What's the best way to come to a stop in a normal situation? What about in an emergency situation? (Again, assuming I am in a higher gear) I just had my first lesson (sooo much fun) but we only went up to second gear so it's easy to get back into first and stop. Detailed answer, please!!Thanks!!!
Well first of all you let off the throttle and start to slow down, then apply the brake, then pull in the clutch and downshift through the gears while applying gentle pressure the brake. You DON'T pull the clutch in until you have released the throttle and starting braking--you don't want to be just flying along in no gear. Also, you can skip a gear in the sense that you don't have to let the clutch out after each downshift.. Your tachometer is your friend. It tells you what you should be doing.
Q:I won a Custom Motorcycle that came with no Speedometer, no turn signals, no mirrors, and the front brake does not work the brake light. From what I have read I don‘t need turn signals to pass an inspection if the motorcycle was built without them? But do I need a speedometer, Mirrors, and a front brake light to pass an inspection?
i'm additionally an prolonged island inspector, although no longer up thus far on all standards for automobiles. Reguarding motorcycles , i became into advised 2 days in the past that aftermarket exhaust mufflers with out dot numbers stamped on the mufflers have been computerized fail . could double verify on it .
Q:How to adjust the motorcycle's liquid brake tight
In the rear wheel on the left, can find the brake cable and rear brake brake rocker, adjust the adjustment screw can be there, generally with 14 # wrench twist, clockwise tightening, counterclockwise loose, but in the adjustment to pay attention to see About when the screw when the brake line will follow the turn, if you want to pay attention to the fixed brake line, or easily distorted.
Q:The ones you do not maintain, if you always check bolts, nuts, oil levels, engine, fork, and case oils that is. And change oil every 1000-1500 miles most motorcycles will last you forever, its when you don't take care of things and maintain them you have problems
It's break down and metric bikes rarely break down.
Q:Motorcycle tail light works, brake light does not?
bad bulb ,or the fuse is blown,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
Q:So i‘ve been riding for about a year, and I‘ve put about 2K miles down, so I‘m very comfortable with riding. Now my girlfriend is about 5‘4 and about 100 pounds at mostI ride a 1994 Yamaha FZR streetfighter, stage 2 jet, mods etc.Now her area is full of blind and very sharp turns where i actually have to turn, backup and turn to complete it, like they are at a 140 degree turn. Now I‘m a little nervous, because she dosent have insurance.AND my dick roomate keeps saying how difficult it is.I would LOVE tips, concerns, and ideas on this question. How difficult is riding with a passenger? How much harder is turning going to be? Shes riddin on the back of other bikes, so shes not to nervous but I‘ve never given a ride before.Any help is great help, Thanks!
There's more to riding a motorcycle than a bike. Your sense of balance, speed, gear shifting and rules of the road/safety all contribute to your safety. Both offer fun and a sense of freedom.
Q:does it come like that ? or you guys make it ?the clutch and the rear hand brake ?
definitely a custom job probably for someone with a right foot problem preventing them form using the rear brake conventionally. Not a major mod to do with a bike with a cable operated rear brake
Q:how do they feel the peddlesgt;and brake? where is the pedal for gas and breaks on a motorcycle
where is the pedal for gas and breaks on a motorcycle ? Generally right hand and right leg are for brakes, right hand throttle, left hand and left foot for clutch and shift lever. But like Jason says, not all are the same and people without certain limbs would simply get their car/bike adapted to suit them
