Q: Can solar panels be installed in areas with high pollution levels?
Yes, solar panels can be installed in areas with high pollution levels. While pollution can reduce the efficiency of solar panels to some extent by blocking sunlight, they can still generate electricity even under such conditions. Regular maintenance and cleaning can help mitigate the impact of pollution on the performance of solar panels, making them a viable option even in areas with high pollution levels. Additionally, installing solar panels can help combat pollution by promoting the use of clean, renewable energy sources.
Q: I paid for an appraisal and the home was valued at $25,000. The problem I have with this is my house is equipped with solar panels. I paid about $25000 for them. A comparable house sold for $225,000 4 months ago. Same amount of rooms, bathrooms, square feet, lot size and curb appeal (landscaping). But no solar panels. Home prices in my neighborhood have also gone up. I would like to know if there is any way I can dispute this as I feel I just wasted a lot of money on a incorrect appraisal.
Normally solar panels are listed as part of the house that supply heat, like a water heater or furnish. Your house would be appraised the same without the solar panel. Since the house you are references sold 4 months ago this might not be a comp your appraiser would have used. Normally a house would have to be sold within the past 90 days to be used by an appraiser. You are able to challenge the appraisal of the house you paid for. The appraiser would take a second look at the cops he/she used in coming up with the valuation of the property and see if here was something that was over looked. If you want to challenge the appraisal based on the fact that you have solar panels, it is doubtful there would be any changes. By adding the solar panels to your house might have been over built your house for the neighborhood. Look around your neighborhood to see how many other houses have solar panels. Normally in an area where houses are valued at around $200K or so would not normally be equipped with solar panels. This would not add value to your house as other houses in your neighborhood would still appraise for the same, since they would not have solar panels as the house you indicated in your statement did not have. I hope this has been of some benefit to you, good luck. FIGHT ON
Q: Can solar panels be installed on asphalt shingles?
Yes, solar panels can be installed on asphalt shingles. However, it is important to ensure that the shingles are in good condition and can support the weight of the panels. Proper installation techniques and mounting systems designed for asphalt shingles should be used to prevent any damage to the roof.
Q: Can solar panels be installed on senior living facilities?
Yes, solar panels can be installed on senior living facilities. In fact, many senior living facilities are adopting solar energy as a sustainable and cost-effective solution to meet their electricity needs. Installing solar panels not only reduces their carbon footprint but also helps in lowering energy costs, making it a beneficial choice for senior living facilities.
Q: How do solar panels affect roof maintenance?
Solar panels can actually help extend the lifespan of a roof by providing an additional layer of protection from the elements. They act as a shield, preventing direct exposure of the roof to rain, snow, and hail. However, regular maintenance is still necessary to ensure the panels are clean and functioning optimally, as any debris buildup or damage to the panels could indirectly affect the roof.
Q: Is there a material that is capable of absorbing enough UV radiation to make it worth using as a flexible solar cell? Not flexible as in aluminum, but a material such as plastic (polycarbonate).
Yes, they already exist. I have one here.
Q: Can solar panels power my entire home?
Yes, solar panels can power your entire home. However, the feasibility of this depends on various factors such as the size of your home, the amount of sunlight available in your area, the efficiency and capacity of the solar panels, and your energy consumption patterns. It is recommended to consult with a professional to assess your specific needs and design a solar system that can meet the energy requirements of your entire home.
Q: I'm wondering if the cost of the panels and equipment have come down enough to make them viable in areas like Seattle or Vancuver for example.
Take okorder /.. You need to keep in mind that as long as you are renting your electric from the public utility you are doing just that and renting. You can resale the solar electric system if you move or if you just want to sale it and get some of your money back if not 20 % extra. Then all the years you used the system was all free electric. So it is already viable as you put it. Anything other then buying a system would not be. Here is a thought. The housing market slumped and if you paid 50K for your home it is now only worth if you can even sale it about 00K. Not worth the money but people are still buying homes even if they are not worth what they are being sold for. And then the cars and trucks people buy will never pay for them selfs but people still buy them and spend extra the more wasteful the car is. So why does solar have to pay for it's self or prove it's self? It has many times over but because you can't drive a solar panel drunk and party out in the bars with it is is not worth the money. I guess the is just being human and a double standard. What about the big up front cost of solar? I remember a 20% up front cost when I bought my home and my car and it is the same 20% or less for a solar loan. Plus the value of solar is going up not down like with homes and a car is not worth but half what you paid for it the minute you drive it off the car lot. I can only see good from solar un like other things we buy.
Q: Can solar panels be installed on a small scale?
Yes, solar panels can be installed on a small scale. In fact, they are highly adaptable and can be installed on rooftops, balconies, or even small plots of land. This makes them a convenient and cost-effective solution for individuals or small businesses looking to generate their own renewable energy.
Q: hey, i am wanting to help our earth a little bit, and I was wondering how to do a solar panel connection for powering my home.... i just want to reduce my energy bill a little bit, Would these solar panels work?and how would i connect them?
Hello, Yes you definitely can use this kind of panels. Powering your home entirely will be an issue if you are not familiar with solar energy and electricity in general. If it's the case I'm afraid you'll need a specialist. The basic principle of a solar power system: - Solar panel to charge the batteries - DC to AC converter that will convert the DC voltage from your battery to AC voltage so that you can connect regular home appliances like lights or TV.
