Q: Can solar panels be installed on public parks or gardens?
Yes, solar panels can be installed on public parks or gardens. In fact, installing solar panels in these areas can be a great way to promote renewable energy, reduce carbon emissions, and generate clean electricity to power nearby facilities or feed into the grid. Additionally, solar panels can provide shade for park-goers and enhance the overall sustainability of the space.
Q: Hi All,I need some resources for a research project i'm doing on Solar Panels/Cells.So do you know of any good books or online materials that basically covers how solar cellwork from level 0 to calculating the energy output based on intensity of the light and the area of the panel. Book titles will be preferable but i'd like to build a strong base before tackling long and complicated formula(s)... so any suggestions? Your help will be appreciated :)THANKS IN ADVANCE!!
The two wiki links below provide basic explanations that are good starters. They also lead to other information. You do not mention much about the actual project, so I can only guess what level to pitch the answer. In practical situations you will not be able to work out Solar panel performance by a formula, but by looking up the manufacturer's specification (data sheet). From that you have the power in watts that can be drawn from the panel for standard sun which is taken as 000W/m^2 at a standard temperature, usually 25C. Derate the panel for the temperature when it operates in the sun (50-60C).
Q: Can solar panels be installed on ski resorts?
Yes, solar panels can be installed on ski resorts. In fact, many ski resorts around the world have started incorporating solar panels as a sustainable energy solution. These panels can be installed on rooftops, parking lots, or even on open fields to generate clean and renewable electricity. Ski resorts can benefit from solar energy by reducing their carbon footprint, lowering energy costs, and promoting eco-consciousness in their operations.
Q: im trying to run my house with with solar panels, is it possible? if so please let me know how....i have a 6000 w inverter
In my opinion you can do it. You will need to have solar panels. and batteries to store the power until needed.
Q: lately i have been interested in solar power. i own my own home and in Texas it's HOT, so my A/C is always on and that light bill is like $300.00 a month. i was looking at other light companies but then i remembered that there are the so called solar power but i dont knowknow to start or how it would work to power the a/c machine...pls help
Solar panels are a great way to cut back on your energy bill. Once you are hooked up to solar energy, the home owner does absolutly nothing different than if you buy electricity from the power-company. Sinse you live in texas, it is more than likely you will not be able to use purely solar power to meet your energy needs unless you purchase a large system ($30,000+). However with enough of an investment, you can 'Sell' your energy back to the power company and greatly reduce your electric bill. I would call a licensed Solar Power company for more information if you do not know much about solar. While the system is relativally simple, it should only be designed and installed by trained licensed professionals.
Q: i took some solar yard lights apart and put them together in a series. i was told if you take AMPS times VOLTS = WATTS. do you test it with ac volt or dc volts? I tested mine with dc volts and got 4 volts in good sun and had my meter set on Ma or milliamps and got .83 which i am asuming that is .83 of one amp now i took those and multiplied .83 times 4 volts to = 34.03 watts. Is this large enough to charge a car battery in a day? And doese it make a difference for amps on how fast it charges or watts. i also was looking around and found 30 watt panels but had higher amps. I am very interested in building solar panels but i realize i dont know what i need to do to make shur they are big enough. my panel is only 9inch by 0 inch. It seems weird that i am putting out 4 volts
If a car battery contains 50 amp hours of charge at 2 volts, that's 600 watt hours of energy. divided by 34.03 watts, 7.63 hours to charge completely in direct sunlight. You don't want to connect them all in series. You want about 4 or 5 volts to charge a 2 v battery, so you should connect groups in parallel, and connect those groups in series to make your voltage. You'll end up with the same amount of power, lower volts and higher amps. It will work for trickle charging your battery if it's not too far run down.
Q: Can solar panels be used in areas with limited space?
Yes, solar panels can be used in areas with limited space. There are various types of solar panels available, including smaller and more compact ones, that can be installed in limited spaces such as rooftops, balconies, or even on walls. Additionally, advancements in solar technology have allowed for the development of flexible and thin-film solar panels that can be integrated into various surfaces, further maximizing space utilization.
Q: Can solar panels be used to power a hospital?
Yes, solar panels can be used to power a hospital. Solar panels generate electricity by converting sunlight into energy, which can be used to power various electrical systems in a hospital, such as lighting, medical equipment, and heating/cooling systems. Solar power can provide a reliable and sustainable source of energy for hospitals, reducing their dependence on traditional energy sources and helping to lower operational costs.
Q: i used 734 killowatts of power last month, any idea on how many solar panels i would need. What im looking for is to somehow hook up my central air to solar panels.
LOL!! There is a lot more to this than you might imagine. This is a very rough approximation but look at the attached and column labeled 6.3KW. Look down that column and you see where it says Est. First Year KWH Generated ,025. So if we were to assume that each month it will produce ,025/2 kwh. (not true for January but I am trying to keep this simple. The installed price without any rebates is $44,050. ;-) Sorry! You will find some a little cheaper... some a little more expensive but none are a LOT cheaper than this. (this price does not even include energy storage, so the sun goes down and you will stop producing electricity). This is why, when people start looking at this sort of thing, they always do what they can to conserve electricity first. It is always much cheaper to conserve, then worry about alternate energy.
Q: I got an 8v solar panel for a project today, the only problem is that it came without any wires attached to it. Now i don't know what type of wires i should use and if i should solder them on or if i should use epoxy instead. Can anybody help me out?
You might want to be careful about soldering. Some panels can be easily damaged by excess heat. Check the manufactures website for recommended attachment methods. Solder tape or conductive epoxy might be better. If you do not have such things already, a good idea might be to take it into a TV repair shop or electronic hobbyist store. Some folks are kind enough to do it for you for free.
