- Q: Can solar panels be installed on windows?
- Yes, solar panels can be installed on windows. There are transparent solar panels available that can be installed on windows to generate electricity while still allowing light to pass through. These panels are designed specifically for windows and can be a great way to utilize the available space for solar energy generation.
- Q: Can solar panels be used in areas with extreme temperatures?
- Yes, solar panels can be used in areas with extreme temperatures. While extreme heat can reduce the efficiency of solar panels, modern solar technologies are designed to withstand high temperatures. Similarly, solar panels can also operate in extremely cold temperatures, although their performance may be slightly affected. Overall, solar panels can still generate electricity effectively in areas with extreme temperatures.
- Q: I want to buy a solar panel to charge deep cycle batteries and charge electronics off the DCB. I don't know how to wire everything up though or what materials ill need. Inverter? Gauge of the wire? Ampmeter?
- the solar panel should state it, you dont need a inverter to charge, only to use the power from the cell.you do need an amp regulator, so it tells if the battery is on full charge and so the sun doesnt over power the battery through the solar panel
- Q: Can solar panels be used to power a film set?
- Yes, solar panels can be used to power a film set. By harnessing the sun's energy and converting it into electricity, solar panels can provide a sustainable and renewable source of power for various film production needs, such as lighting, cameras, and equipment. This not only reduces the carbon footprint of the film production but also saves costs on traditional energy sources.
- Q: How much space is required for installing solar panels?
- The amount of space required for installing solar panels depends on various factors such as the type and size of the panels, the energy needs of the property, and the efficiency of the panels. Generally, for residential installations, it is recommended to have around 100-400 square feet of roof space per kilowatt of solar panels. However, ground-mounted systems may require larger areas depending on the number of panels and their tilt angles. It is advisable to consult with a solar installer or expert to determine the exact space requirements for a specific project.
- Q: I need a list of worldwide solar panel manufactures from china, US, Spain, Germany, Japan etc...Can any one direct ne to such place?I rather it will also contain comparison of parameters like efficiacy, quality etc and to be divedied by country of manufacturing.Thank you
- You can't buy at that level unless you are connected to governement. A lot of production is already spoken for for years to come. Where you live determines what you can legally buy and install. The EU has it's own certification, the US has 2 sets, the Canadians have their own. Your answer also requires knowing the use for the solar panels, whether it is grid-tie, off-grid or standalone to power an appliance. And you have to choose mono crystalline, poly crystalline, or thin-film.
- Q: I want to be more self sufficient and get solar panels for electricity in a small house any tips will help. i need to know how many watts is enough and ect.
- Unless you're very rich, you won't be able to afford solar panels that can meet the average demand of a home. In the US, the average demand for a home is 920 kwh per month, which amounts to 3,833 Watt panels if you assume 8 hours of usable sunshine and don't take into account your location. At current installation rates that's easily a $9,65 project. If you assume a 25 year useful life, it amounts to a return of 3.3% per annum at 0 cents a kwh not counting the costs of repair, insurance, the inverter, any fees to the utility for net metering if any etc. You would be better off putting $9,65 into a mutual fund until better technology or government incentives came along, in some areas, the government subsidies can make it worth your while. Also, keep in mind that in many areas, the net metering arrangements only deducts the power you've generated from your bill so you would want to size the array to meet your base usage in order to get the most from your investments. So meeting your actual needs would result in a loss on the return as there will be months where your usage is less than your average. In theory, if you put $7,208.69 into a mutual fund expected to return 4.4% per annum then you could withdraw enough to pay each month's power bill for 25 years at $0.0 a kwh and therefore be self sufficient through financial means. You would get more mileage focusing on heating and hot water as heating and hot water is 75% of a home's energy use and can be addressed with lower cost technologies like passive solar and solar thermal panels. You have to put it into perspective, it's an investment and you want a return that's competitive with your investment opportunities.
- Q: I am in need of solar panels and the batteries that I can store the energy in. I need to be able to run a laptop, cell phone, and LED lights from it. When I research I see all sorts of options with regards to watts, VMPs, and AMPs. I also see that I may need a controller, an inverter, and various other components. Can anyone help me through these terms and what i need to know in order to efficiently generate and store the electricity. Thanks
- Unlike what most people seem to think, solar panels are not advanced enough to power day to day objects that we use, with the sun that we see in a day. You would need mass amounts of panels and equipment. IF there is a smaller solutions (which I doubt would do what you're asking yet) it would cost thousands of dollars. Panels are not there yet, and the ones that are, are still in development or being guarded from release to the public. The most you'll get out of a few hundred bucks and panels is a lit garden for a few hours at night. Go buy rechargeable batteries.
- Q: Well my dad has been into Solar panels for quite a while, his birthday is coming up and i want to get him a small minature one, so he can toy around with it and be able to use it as expirience for when he gets a bigger one. my dad has been doing ALOT of studying, and i've been looking online but idk what kinda kits to get so should i get a 0w kit, 5w kit, or 20w kit? which one would be best to fool around with and play with? thanks
- Go with the 20W kit. Possibly he can get this going and light up a 5 watt bulb? Does he have an inverter? Sounds like fun! I may look into this later. I did notice that our interstate uses these small ones along the way for something. I have something more interesting; plans for a window solar panel box made out of most scrap items lying around. Just moved so have to unpack and find those plans! Anyway, have fun and hope your dad likes his kit.
- Q: how would you build a solar panel
- As a sandwich. Glass Space /4 inch Glass Space with copper radiator painted flat black. Box made of wood. with the inside painted black. Insulate the back side. Use water with RV antifreese. Circulate water through with a small pump. Face it toward the sun. Thermal water solar Panel.
