1.Description

Aluminium foil acts as a total barrier to light and oxygen (which cause fats to oxidise or become rancid), odours and flavours, moistness, and germs, and so it is used broadly in food and pharmaceutical packaging. The purpose of aluminium is to make long-life packs (aseptic packaging) for drinks and dairy goods, which allows storing without refrigeration. Aluminium foil containers and trays are used to bake pies and to pack takeaway meals, ready snacks and long life petfoods.

Aluminium foil is widely sold into the consumer market, often in rolls of 500 mm (20 in) width and several metres in length. It is used for wrapping food in order to preserve it, for example, when storing leftover food in arefrigerator (where it serves the additional purpose of preventing odour exchange), when taking sandwiches on a journey, or when selling some kinds of take-away or fast foodTex-Mex restaurants in the United States, for example, typically provide take-away burritos wrapped in aluminium foil.

Q: what can be used in place of aluminum foil?
depends on what ur using it for, hhhmmmmm, to cover up someting, cling wrap, to use it for something, use toilet paper roll, empty can.
Q: quot;320g of hot H20 at 80 degree celcius is poured into an aluminum can of mass 35 g and temperature of 20 degree celcius Calculate the final temperature.quot;Okay , first of all , I don't really get the question , or more exactly , I do not know what it actually want Calculate the final temperature for what? water? or can? I understood clearly the formula which is Heat Supplied(?)Q m.c.deltaTeta/Temperature , the problem is how am I supposed to applied it on this 'not so professional question'? .please teach me and give me some explanation! I bid you and awesome advance thanks!
The question is asking you for the equilibrium temperatureIf you have studied momentum you can compare this problem to collisions1.) Analyze the SI units of your equation so you know precisely what you are trying to measure mcdt kg J/(kgC) C J (mcdt is simply a measure of how much heat energy a given mass of a given material at a given temperature holds) 2.) Conceptualize the processAll equations are simply mathematical representations of concepts - The transfer of energy from one substance to another is more significant than the change of temperature - your loss, my gainThe amount of energy the hotter material loses is equal to the energy the cooler material loses 3.) Set up the equation and see what we are missing Q(cold)-Q(hot) mc(Tf-Ti)aluminum mc(Tf-Ti)water 4.) We are only missing the final temperature so we need only solve for (Tf)Don't forget to convert all your units .035kg (900 J/kgC) (Tf - 20C) -[.320kg (4200 J/kgC) (Tf -80C)] (31.5 J/C)Tf - 630J -[(1344 J/C)Tf - 107520J] (31.5 J/C)Tf - 630J (-1344 J/C)Tf + 107520J (31.5 J/C)Tf + (1344 J/C)Tf 107520J + 630J (1375.5 J/C)Tf 108150 J Tf 78.6 C 5.) Unlike other physics problems you cannot get a wrong answer if you check your work mcdt -mcdt .035kg 900 J/kg (78.6-20)C 1845.9 -[.320kg 4200 J/kg (78.6 - 80)] -1881.6 There is a slight error in the 3rd sig fig that is probably due to round-off Note: Make sure that you copy the quantities from the book with accurate representation of the number of sig figs.
Q: why is Aluminium oxide insoluble in water?
1) Sharpie Black marker under their noseDraw them a moustache, a beard, and raised eyebrowsGive them a third eye2) Warm Water + hand wet the bed 3) Duck tape him to the bed, THEN fill his hand with shaving cream, and tickle his noseHe will try so hard to get that thing off his nose that he will rip through the duck tape and smash the shaving cream into his face4)if this is college humor, than gently carry him outside, in a sleeping bag, and put him under a tree, or on a car, or somewhere randomWhen he wakes up he will be like where the hell am I? 5) Decorate the room to make it look like a massacre happenedDecorate the walls with (fake) blood, rip pillows, and lie on the ground covered in bloodPut a knife covered in fake blood in his handsHe will wake, and he will see that he entire room is covered in blood, execpt for him and his bed 6) Put a wedding ring on his handTape a note somewhere he will see it, and write on it something a female would say, like I'm so excited to be starting our new life togetherPut a bunch of beer bottles in his bedHe will be clueless until he spots, and feels the ring on his hand7) Put on the creepiest and scariest mask you can imagine, and stand over the bed with a knife glistening in your handMake sure you have giant eyesPut your face a centimetre away from hisWhen he wakes, he will have a heart attack8)Post an Eviction notice on his pants9) Put a bra around him and put panties onMore beer bottles places conviently around the room, additionally with a note stuck to him saying I never knew you were gay/bisexual/whatever! Thank god for last night! should convince him he had a hell of a party last night 10) Place him under his bed, and let his blankets droop over the side so when he wakes it will be completely darkAlthough this will not sound scary, when he wakes up, he will see dark everywhereHe will straighten up only to crack his head on his bedHe will think he is trapped, underground.
Q: I'm a university student on a budget, so does anyone have good ideas on how to keep my cat occupied while I'm out of the apartment without spending lots? Unfortunately, getting another cat to keep her company isn't an optionShe has catnip mice and loves balls made out of paper or aluminum foil, but I'd like something more entertaining to keep her from getting too bored when she's aloneAny suggestions?
keep it tightly sealedTry a couple more layers of wrap or even a Glad storage size baggie, make sure it's in a crisper as wellthe less air the longer it will lastAnother suggestion is if your just using it for taco's or salads try the Salad Express in a bag stuffthey even have just shredded lettuceYes it's a little more expensive but it lasts MUCH longer than a regular head of lettuce.
Q: Science problem help please and ten points given.?
Acrylic and fleece are about the sameThe reason wool is so expensive is because it's a natural fiber, it can't be made by artificial means at any quantity, it must be grown on a sheepWool fibers are of better because they soak up ('wick') the moisture, absorb it to the center of the fiber then dissipate the moisture out thru the endsThis actually has a somewhat cooling affect because heat and moisture don't get trapped between fabric and horse's bodyHumans haven't been able to replicate this function of wool - only mother nature can create such a fiberSome horses are allergic to woolI think the next best thing is cotton because, again, it's a natural fiberThe acrylic and synthetic fibers while they can be warm and soft, and used for padding and such, they do not perform the same functions of the natural fibersA cooler is expected to cool the horse in a slow fashion - letting heat and moisture disspate slowly to avoid the horse cooling too fastSo if you purchase an item that simply holds the heat in, it's not actually coolingLook at manufacturer's notes on what each one does and chose the thing that's going to perform the necessary function wellI purchased a cotton, waffle weave sheet for my horse when we ride in cold weather, I put in on when we're done to keep her warm and let the heat dissipate - the bad thing about them is that the cotton strands can get hooked and cause damage to the blanket - so you have to keep the horse calm and away from things to get caught on while they are cooling off.
Q: calculate the maximum numbers of moles and grams of H2S that can form when 139 g of aluminum sulfide reacts with 116 g of water:Al2S3+ H2O -gt; Al (OH)3 + H2S (this is unbalanced)(a) mol H2S(b) g H2S(c) What mass of the excess reactant remains?_ g excess reactantPlease write your final answers with the correct amount of sig figs and please write out how you did it I need to know how to do this and I don't know which part I am messing up!
You MUST start with a balanced equationThen, because the masses of two reactants are given, you need to determine which of the two is the limiting reagent i.ewhich you have the least amount ofThen finally use the quantity of the limiting reagent to find the quantity of H?S that can be produced1.) Al?S? + 6 H?O → 2 Al(OH)? + 3 H?S (molar ratio of Al?S?:H?O is 1:6) 2.) determine limiting reagent: Al?S? 139-g Al?S? x ( 1 mol Al?S?/150.3-g Al?S?) 0.925 mol Al?S? H?O 116-g H?O x ( 1molH?O/18.0-g H?O) 6.44 mol H20 The balanced equation shows 1 mole of Al?S? requires 6 moles of H?O Since we have more than 6 moles of water but less than 1 mole of aluminum sulfide, aluminum sulfide limits the product30.9248 mol Al?S? x (3 mol H?S / 1 mol Al?S?) x 34.12-g H?S / 1 mol H?S a.) 0.9248 mol Al?S? x (3 mol H?S / 1 mol Al?S?) 2.77 mol H?S b.) 0.9248 mol Al?S? x (3 mol H?S / 1 mol Al?S?) x 34.12-g H?S / 1 mol H?S 94.7-g H?S c.) since the water we needed was 6 times the moles of Al?S?, we used 6 x 0.9248 5.549 moles of water 5.549 mol H?O x 18.0-g/mol 99.88-g usedThat leaves 116-g - 99.88 16.1-g remaining (sig digits allowed is 3 in each answer)
Q: I found in my sons room aluminum foil, and it had black burned residue on itbent spoons, with burned marks on it, q-tips and dixie cups with waterwhat could this be, what is he smoking or experimenting with? i already know he's doing drugs, but be specificwhat kind of drugs do you think he is using?
he's doing heroin it can be weed, You should fine some help,do some research to check what the best for him and your familyDrug is not the easy thing to quit if he think he don't have a problems ,Good luck with all the decision you have to make .
Q: I am making an angel costume with huge wingsWhat might be a way to create these wings?
Wire hangers and aluminum foilor if you are able to sew, hangers with white material like from a white sheet or somethingaluminum foil is better because it is light weight.
Q: I need suggestions of what to write about in an aluminium project. I have already written about properties, extraction and uses, I just need four more sub-topics to be suggested. Please include sources. Thanks.
1.Formation of pure aluminium oxide 2.Conversion of the aluminium oxide into aluminium by electrolysis 3.Some economic and environmental considerations 4.Environmental problems in mining and transporting the bauxite 5.Recycling 6.Uses of aluminium www.chemguide .uk/inorganic/ext...
Q: a simple fish dish with a cod or hadock maybe some white fish.
