It grows in the shape of a pole, and its diameter varies between one to three inches. Rattan is one of the strongest woods and possesses the ability to grow up high as hundred feet. It’s a natural material so it’s preferred for indoors only and not suitable to be exposed to sunlight or rain for a long period.
PE rattan is a synthetic material and it’s also known as poly rattan, PVC/PE rattan or artificial rattan. It’s soft and flexible and less easy to get broken compared to hardness of real rattan. It’s not easy to fade when exposed to sunlight. Hence, it can be used indoors as well as outdoors.
Real Rattan looks more natural and it’s more expensive at cost and requires higher craft technique to get it woven while PE rattan costs less and it’s more convenient for import as well.
