- Q: Solar panels which is the one produces the power...I wanna the complete description about it...
- This okorder for more detail.
- Q: What is the impact of hailstorms on solar panels?
- Hailstorms can have a significant impact on solar panels. The impact of hailstones hitting the panels can cause physical damage, such as cracks or shattered glass, which can impair the panel's ability to generate electricity. This damage not only affects the efficiency of the solar panels but also necessitates costly repairs or replacements. Therefore, hailstorms pose a considerable risk to the overall performance and longevity of solar panels.
- Q: I have to get a lot of information on how solar panels are developed and distributed in America because I have to do two pages on this. Please help me get information in this I really need it!! Thankss...
- The first link below is one of the best sites for recent news about solar panels. You should be able to find stories about solar panels under development today. A little bit of the history: Solar panels have been around for about 50 years now. They were first used to power spacecraft. Solar power for domestic use started to develop rapidly in the 970's during the first oil crisis, but as energy prices fell in the 980's solar development slowed. Most of the large solar panel makers were purchased by large oil companies who seemed not to be too interested in solar. In the late 990's as concerns about both Peak Oil and Global Warming grew there was renewed interest in solar power and a number of new companies were started to develop new kinds of solar panels. Many of these new companies have grown larger than the older solar companies still owned by big oil companies. Over the last 7 years or so growth in the solar market has been explosive with a compound growth rate of almost 40% per year. In 2005 the solar industry for the first time started to consume more silicon than all other electronic industries combined resulting in a world wide silicon shortage that is still with use. New silicon refineries are coming on line and the shortage is expected to diminish by 2008 or 2009. Check out the two links below. They will help you a lot.
- Q: I need to build a battery array to use with my solar panels I just bought. I want to be able to store enough energy to be draw from it at night, possibly around the clock. Is there a down side to using the deep cycle battery I bought from autozone and 6 or 7 more just like it, or do I need to get some other battery?
- There are batteries particularly made for solar, such as the Trojan T05-RE . I think the RE stands for renewable energy. A deep cycle battery should work all right, although not quite as well. What you want to do is try out your setup first, with just one battery, and the panels provided. If this is one of those 45 watt kits, you may be surprised at how little energy you actually get from the panels. Increasing the number of batteries won't help, either - that's like getting a larger water tank, when you only have a trickle to fill it. If your goal is really to save money, the most cost-effective solar is the grid-tied type, with no batteries at all. That's what we have, and I've never regretted it.
- Q: I have purchased a 2 volt LED lantern from argos, it comes with a built in 6 volt 4ah sealed acid battery. What I wanted to know is would I be able to charge it using my 6 volt solar panel?
- If it has a 6 volt battery- is it marked 2 volts on an external plug? If so, there is a resistor inside to drop the potential the battery sees. The battery itself could be slipped out and recharged easily from your 6 volt panel. Just determine how much current (in Amps or Milliamps) the panel produces nominally and divide that into 4 and add one fourth of that length of time to make up for system losses. This will tell you how many hours it should charge assuming your starting voltage of the battery is above .5 volts. and the panel is at 3 volts potential or higher. So if your panel puts out amp at 0AM, you would charge for 5 hours. 4 divided by is 4 and one fourth of that is so 4 plus is 5. It is a little more involved than that, but as a rule of thumb. Also do not discharge tha lantern to the point of no light output. LEDs are efficient, but their current will add up. If it is suggest to be able to use the lantern for up to 8 hours on a charge, stick to that value. Lead acid batteries have best longevity when discharged only to 80 percent capacity. Once battery is charged- disconnect from charging source.
- Q: How do solar panels affect roof ventilation?
- Solar panels can have both positive and negative effects on roof ventilation. On one hand, solar panels can provide shade to the roof, reducing heat gain and potentially improving the overall ventilation of the roof space. On the other hand, solar panels can obstruct airflow and create a barrier that hinders natural ventilation. Proper installation and design considerations are crucial to ensure that solar panels do not negatively impact roof ventilation.
- Q: I made three 36 solar cell (3x6 .5V 3.5A) panel and had it hooked a up to an old car inverter. I was on line looking for a cheap grid tied inverter. I came across the Enphase micro inverter and was wondering if i could use one of those. Will it work?
- It won't work for several reasons. ) Enphase needs 24V modules, you made 8V ones. The voltage is too low to turn it on. 2) Only UL listed (or similar lab) panels are allowed to be connected to your house electrical system. Even if you did get them to work with the Enphase, you won't be able to get the system inspected, there is no way it would be allowed to be turned on by the electrical inspector nor the electric company. 3) If you got by obstacles and 2, and you had an electrical fire in your house, it is highly likely your insurance company would not pay you for it, as you used non-UL panels. DIY panels are fine for little back yard projects, but when it comes to your home, buy real ones. The price has dropped so much in the last 2 years, it's not worth it to mess around.
- Q: How do solar panels affect the overall sustainability of a building?
- Solar panels positively affect the overall sustainability of a building by reducing reliance on non-renewable energy sources and decreasing carbon emissions. They generate clean and renewable energy from the sun, reducing the building's environmental footprint and contributing to a greener future. Additionally, solar panels can lower energy costs, increase energy efficiency, and provide energy independence, making the building more resilient and sustainable in the long run.
- Q: I am doing research for a project.Please reply soon! :)
- Here's solar photovoltaics: They not only look different, they act completely differently!
- Q: How are solar panels made?
- Solar panels are made using a multi-step process that involves the production of silicon wafers, the application of various layers and coatings, and the assembly of individual cells into a panel.
