Q: if you move a solar panel or there was a vibration that caused the panel to move, would that affect it?
No. I've got one on top of my RV and taking it down the road at 70mph doesn't hurt it at all.
Q: I've been looking into solar panels. They are fairly expensive ($35k or so). My state has some rebates and grants available. Is anyone aware of any federal grants and rebates other than the federal tax credit? We are subject to AMT tax and can't take the credit. (Which is ridiculous, is the federal government committed to conservation or aren't they??????)
I run my entire home off of solar . I'm really handy when it comes to building things from junk and buy broken cells off OKorder . I glue and solder them to make 2x2 cells so my panels are 6x6 foot each normal size is allot smaller and getting plenty of power dirt cheap but the gov doesn't give me crap and i really don't give a crap because what i have into mine payed for them self in a years time of paying the power company . Now if i was to buy the system i built there's no way it would be worth the wile . The only way the government is interested is if they can tax you that's not just conservation that's everything. I do get a kick out of the rich blood sucking power company when all the lights go out in the neighborhood and there knocking on my door trying to figure out why my house is lit up like a Christmas tree
Q: Can solar panels be used in areas prone to hurricanes or earthquakes?
Yes, solar panels can be used in areas prone to hurricanes or earthquakes. While these natural disasters can pose risks to solar panels, proper installation and structural reinforcement can ensure their resilience. Additionally, advancements in technology have led to the development of more robust solar panels that can withstand extreme weather conditions. However, it is important to consider local regulations, building codes, and additional safety measures to mitigate potential risks.
Q: Solar panels are all divided into these squares, forming a grid like pattern. Is it possible to have a single piece of solar panel?
They are in form of panels ....panel observe heat to generate electricity
Q: Can solar panels be used to power a swimming pool?
Yes, solar panels can be used to power a swimming pool. Solar panels can generate electricity from sunlight, which can be used to power pool pumps, heaters, and other equipment required for pool maintenance and operation.
Q: The ancients used skylights for light in lieu of electricity. Light was used for drying, even cooking foods and drying clothes. Solar clocks/sun dials were once popular but now we have battery operated clocks. Where have we tapped into any of these resources since the outdated solar clothes drier nicknamed the 'clothes line'?
As your question notes, there are other ways to derive power from solar energy other than just using solar panels. One such way that has grown rapidly in recent years, is solar thermal generation. Solar-thermal uses mirrors to collect sunlight and concentrate it at point to generate intense heat. This heat is used -- just as in traditional fossil fuel plants -- to boil a fluid, thereby creating steam pressure, which drives a turbine that generates electricity. Solar thermal has some advantages over traditional solar panels. It's collectors (i.e. mirrors) are cheaper to manufacture than solar panels and last longer.
Q: We've been considering solar panels for a while now, and we'd like to know a little more about them. Please answer to the best of your knowledge. Thanks.
Solar Panels are a very good choice for our economy today. We can save thousands of dollars a year of electric bills. But they are not practical to buy because these cost thousands of dollars. For the brand new solar panels and installation, it cost more than $20,000 which is not good. They also offer buy now pay later option but it is not good either because it puts you in debt. The solution is, why not do it yourself. There are do-it-yourself guides that shows you step-by-step on how to make solar panels. They are very cheap too. All-in-all, it'll cost you less than $200. But be careful, you might find a DIY solar panel guide are not advisable to someone who don't have experience on them. There is one DIY solar panel guide that I can recommend. It is cheap and it doesnt require you to be a handyman to do it. Check out the site below. If you want to know more about solar panels, check some reviews about it. I included some sites as well.
Q: How do solar panels withstand hail and other extreme weather conditions?
Solar panels are designed to withstand hail and extreme weather conditions through their durable construction and protective measures. They are built with tempered glass that can resist impact and damage from hail. Additionally, solar panels undergo rigorous testing to ensure they can withstand high winds, heavy snow loads, and extreme temperatures. The frames and mounting systems are also engineered to provide stability and withstand harsh weather conditions.
Q: Can solar panels work during cloudy or rainy days?
Solar panels can still generate some electricity during cloudy or rainy days, although their efficiency may be reduced. The panels can still absorb and convert diffuse sunlight into electricity, albeit at a lower rate compared to sunny days.
Q: I am planning to buy some solar panels for my cabin and i want to be able to store the electricity. what kind of batteries should i get? i will be running simple things like a tv and radio. where can i buy these batteries? where should i look for the best batteries?
Deep cycle, Golf Cart Batteries. You can get them at a battery store.
