Q: Cannot screw hinges into door because screws have nothing to grip onto. Cant use toggle anchors either. Was thinking of using dowels but then again, the dowel has nothing to support it... What about just squirting a tube of liquid nails down the inside of the door and inserting galvanized screws (despite only being held by the adhesive..) The door still weighs 100+ pounds with all the waterlogged wood in the center
Sounds like you are referring to a typical metal clad door. If the wood is rotten, there is not much you can do with the door but scrap it and buy a new door. Any other method will just delay the fact that the door has to be scrapped. You require solid material to hold a 100 pound door on the hinges. Liquid nail is meant to fasten materials to-gether with a thin layer of the compound; NOT as a filler. A stop gap solution which may work temporarily is epoxy. If you can fill the area inside the door with enough epoxy and let it set; then you may be able to drill a small pilot hole into the epoxy after it set then insert the screws to hold the hinges. This would only be a temporary fix as the moisture inside the door will eventually cause the steel cladding to rust through. Personally you are wasting your time and money keep that door.
Q: What tools are needed to install aluminum doors and windows?
Cutting machine hand and so on
Q: What should the inspection of the glass door? The door frame is the metal door frame is also our installation, it should use what inspection batch?
If so, according to "Building Decoration Engineering Quality Acceptance" GB50210-2001 special door installation works Article 5.5.1: This section applies to the quality inspection of special doors such as fire doors, security doors, automatic doors, whole glass doors, revolving doors, metal shutter doors and other special doors. In other words, the whole door with a special door installation engineering inspection batch form.
Q: I have an old metal garage door, will I get any money for it at the scrap yard? If so how much?
It depends what metal the door is and what the hardware is on the door. More than likely your garage door would be considered tin and the going rate depends on the area you live. I suggest you call your local scrap yards to get prices. Tin usually goes for around .06-.15 a pound where I live in Florida. At 100 lbs you are only going to make $6-15 in which is it worth it for you in gas to transport just the door. I suggest getting a couple more metal objects together before you go to the scrap yard. Cutting the door in half should not effect your price. Try sticking a magnet to the door to tell what type of metal you have.
Q: I mean when weather is dry, and I am about to enter a store, I can see it coming! that huge electrical charge that was being built inside my body! I become 100% sure I will be shocked as soon as I touches that metal handle, so I approach the handle with my hands, and quickly back up my hand again before it touches! then try to catch the handle again then back it up again! like 3 times back and forth in one second till I have the courage to touch it and get my lovely shock! and open the door! Am I the only one who do this? are you guys touches it with confidence even if you get shocked? are you brave enough to not care about that 2000 volt charge? I know it is not fetal thing, and I read all things about electrostatic and how to avoid it and all that bla bla bla.. but in reality, some days, you cant escape your fate!!
I wind up getting a little gun-shy around door handles in the winter time too. I'm not as bad as that, though. Just try to touch the handle with the back of your wrist first. It will get rid of the charge that you've built up, and you don't have a high density of pain receptors there compared to your fingertips, so it won't hurt nearly as much.
Q: Aluminum alloy doors and windows span problem
Can not, neither safe nor convenient to install, why should we do this? Looking for professional doors and windows factory, you can door measurement, according to your actual situation, decided to separate and fight Tang.
Q: Learn what aluminum doors and windows to what level can shop, what will do the doors and windows?
This depends on your personal ability, and learn to make it easy, the main technology or in the late installation and commissioning.
Q: Into the door is a metal door or special door
General residential door into the door is the metal door, the most common is the anti-theft door, according to energy requirements will have insulation performance, according to fire requirements will have fire performance. Special doors and special doors compared with the special purpose of the door, including radiation doors, air defense doors, noise doors, smoke doors, dust doors, anti-tornado, anti-shock doors,
Q: how to put wood on a metal garage door?
Sure you can. Depending upon the condition of the paint on the door now, you may simply be able to wash and paint it without other prep. Use a high quality paint intended for metal surfaces like Iron Clad. Any paint store can help you pick a suitable paint. Benjamin Moore, Sherwin Williams, ICI, ZInnser- they all have paints specifically for metal. Back to prep work though. If the paint is peeling on the door, you will need to sand or scrape it off until you get to a surface that is free of peeling paint. This is usually a full weekend job... Good luck.
