After dry, apply them onto a cardboard (fasten underneath of cardboard with the screws, etc..) so the handles are not laying down. Go to an actual paint store and get a quality spray paint that is meant for metal. Spray light coat, dry, spray light coat, dry. Perferably 3 coats since it is an object that will have a lot of use. Check with the store about a top coat if possible.
