- ANYTHING can be TOO LOUD! Yes, a fire alarm has to be loud enough to wake the occupants if they are asleep, BUT there is also the issue that if it's so loud it hurts the occupants' ears, it is of course possible that it's louder than it has to be. My condo, in a converted factory, has many elderly people living in it. Management won't even listen to their complaints that the fire alarms are so loud that it hurts our ears. I think anyone that has the ability to reason with such a complaint could understand that if it's electronic, and it makes a sound, then that sound could possibly be TOO loud. It's also not an unreasonable possibility that the electronic circuitry for a massive fire alarm system could indeed have a volume adjustment somewhere in its distribution system. The pat answers by people paid to say that's just the way it has to be are not realistic. If an OSHA investigation into such charges resulted in an audio test, and used a DB meter, one could easily assume that there are audio levels that are known to do damage to human hearing. Couple that with the need for a high frequency alarm signal, makes it all a perfect storm of negligence. We here in our complex are beyond our limit of complaining to un-reasoning incurred with the simple fact that ANYTHING THAT MAKES SOUND, CAN BE TOO LOUD!! The alarms can work effectively at a level that is adequately protective, AS WELL AS ADEQUATELY CAUTIONARY SO AS TO NOT DAMAGE HUMAN HEARING! IT'S ALL A PERFECT STORM OF MISINFORMATION, COUPLED WITH BOTH MISMANAGEMENT AND INEPTNESS. 75 elderly people's apartments, testing four-times a year, whereupon each apartment's tests sets off ALL apartments' alarms; ALL OF THEM TOO LOUD!! It's an ambulance chaser's DREAM. Can you say Class-Action? ANYTHING, INCLUDING FIRE ALARMS, CAN CERTAINLY, POSSIBLY BE TOO LOUD!
- Q: what is the possible effect if you use an asbestos blanket in extinguishing a fire of Li, Na, and K metals?
- I dont really understand the question. I cant discern from the information provided what happened. I think that if there is intentional (or negligent) causes in the incident, the fire department has the right to re-coup any of the costs they incurred.
- Q: We have fire extinguishers that are almost 10 years old. We've never had to use any of them. Should I replace them?I'm considering using the current ones to teach my 9 and 11 year old kids how to effectively use them and then replace with new ones.

- Q: A lightning rod on the top of a church is just a sign of lack of faith I suppose. Those religious men won't even trust in the fate God lay aside for them. That's lame.Right?
- it is the stabillizer link its probably making a tuk tuk tuk tuk tuk sound inner tie rods can cause a similiar noise
- Q: Do any of you girls or women wear or own reflective clothing for safety purposes?I bought a jacket and I feel like I made the wrong decision. It was under 50 bucks and I thought I could use it for safety reasons considering I dont own flares or reflective signs or anything for when my car breaks down at nightand it has once already
- The twisting of space-time by heavy objects is *very* *very* small. The twist from things like our sun and the planets can barely be measured at all. If nothing else was going on, then yes, the moon and the planets would gradually decrease the radius of their orbits. But the fact is, a lot of other things are going on, like solar light pressure, tides, loss of mass in the sun, gravity from the other planets and asteroids, etc. These other things are much much more significant than the space-time twisting. Some of them make the Earth go away from the sun, and some make the Earth go closer. But all of them added together don't add up to enough for anybody to notice. In numbers, the twisting energy loss would make the Earth get closer to the sun by about 2 micrometers every billion years.
- Q: i think gravity itself is not a forcebut the absence of the space fabricor rather weak fabric that cause asmaller object to fall towards thecenter of a bigger object ..you maythink I am crazy but let me explainthis..Einstein talk about warping ofspace fabric by mass object justlike placing a cannon ball on atrampolining only in this case themass itself is not totally resting onthe fabric for some reason itdisplaced the fabric to create thatvortex around itthe lager themass the bigger is thedisplacement and any object smallthat find itself closed within theweak region will fall towards thecenter of that mass.. ((((((( ( ( ( o ) )) )))))))) this small picture just toillustrate it .I may be wrong but Ihave more detail of my intuitiveidea about gravitylt;- Is that what General Relativity implies?

- The bus would not be parked there in the first place. Fire lanes are reserved for fire, EMS or law enforcement. No one elseeven an organization such as the Red Crossmay utilize a fire lane for convenience. Besides, if a blood drive was being conducted INside a building, a bus would not even be there. The Red Cross uses the vans and SUVs to transport the equipment and technicians to the blood drive. The supplies are unloaded and the vehicles are parked in designated areas. I used to work for the Red Cross. EMT
