- Q:i have a baby gecko - not older than a few months, and she just layed eggs, like an hour ago D:i made an incubator a while back, and i dont know why but i just turned it on today (lucky eh)its basically a lunchbox with a cricket box with damp vermiculite inside. its at about 85F now.lt;since my gecko is only a baby herself, i‘m aware they probably arent fertile, but stillgt;she layed them on top of the laying box i gave her, but one of the eggs was stuck tight onto it - anything i can do about this?(i wasnt sure, so i cut out that bit of the lid with the egg and and put that in the incubator)nowhere i looked says anything about the humidity in the incubator, so does anyone have any ideas about that too?and is there anything i can feed my little gecko to get her back upto strength - she‘s too small for pinkies. Thanks :)
- cut the the laying box and and put the piece with the egg in incubator, humity should be high at least 80-100 would be good, you can feed her wax worms or butter worms, but not too much they are real fatty, i really dont think the eggs are fertile being the leo is sooo young, was it with a male, because they can lay eggs with out the malealso shake the worms crickets with calcium powder she will need it and helps with the recovering time from laying eggs
- Q:Why doesn‘t mica expand when wetted? Also why do vermiculite and montmorillonite expand when they are wetted. Additionally why does montmorillonite expand twice as much or more than vermiculite when wetted?
- Because its not porous, so it doesn't absorb the water. How much something expands or contacts when wet depends on how much water it can absorb.
- Q:How does vermiculite make a roof insulation?
- The cast-in-place cement vermiculite thermal insulation layer is made of expanded vermiculite as aggregate, cement as cementing material, mixing in a certain proportion and mixing with water and sand. Has the characteristics of light weight, small thermal conductivity, high strength, easy expansion of fission, delamination, economic quantity etc.. When applied to the flat surface, it can reduce the load of the surface layer, save the water consumption, reduce the cost and shorten the construction period. The utility model can be used as a heat insulating layer for cast-in-place or heat insulation layer or the like.
- Q:Are there buyers for this
- You can rent a blower and hoses to do it, They sell snap in plugs to fix the holes. Vermiculite is more expensive than cellulose, but if a mices can't make tunnels in it, it re settles. Wear a dust mask whichever you use. I did a house in indiana and saved the cost of insulation and storm windows in three months.
- Q:Okay My female paint turtle laid 1 egg in the water And i put her in the nesting box i put soft dirt in their cause i don‘t have sand And im not sure im not sure how long she has too stay in their cause she is trying too get out of it and im not sure if those are real eggs or not cause i found her on the road about 4-3 weeks ago and i didn‘t know if she was pregnant, Please Help
- 1. Please do not take home wild reptiles. Find them in the road, give them a shove to the side and let them be on their way. It hurts the reptile and the environment. Odds are if you picked up the eggs they're no good just because if you turn them the baby will die easily. And if she had them in the water they probably got too cold.
- Q:Our lettuce sprouts are in jiffy pots and the soil and pots are moldy. Can plants be saved?
- It sounds you possibly have vermiculite. It might be a natural occurrence or it might be imported/purchased, its a great soil for gardening/growing stuff. The shiny black, gold and green are all weathered biotite. Of course not being able to see/hold means this is just a guess. And a little bit of internet digging (haha pun) shows that there is at least one company that mines it in Virginia. One company, Virginia Vermiculite LLC, produces vermiculite in Virginia. The company operates an open pit mine near Trevilians, in Louisa County. This is one of only three active vermiculite mines in the United States (Potter, 2003). The deposit is in an 80- to 100-foot thick weathered zone in mafic rocks of the Green Springs pluton.
- Q:Okay, over the course of about the last three weeks, my female box turtle has laid four eggs... I've cvalled a couple pet shops and they have told me to look online for imformation on how to care for them, and they also mentioned to keep the eggs away from the parents because all they will do is step on and mush the eggs, which i found to be true... I was just wondering if anyone could help me out with information like what should i keep the eggs in? From what a read, a mixture of Peat Moss, Vermiculite (Mineral), and Spaghnum Moss works well... Any suggestions/information is appreciated!!

- Q:During the middle ages of europe like around 400 to 700 or to 1000
- I would say: Cost - a sheet of uniform thickness nichrome would be more difficult to make and therefore cost more than wire. Physical strength - the sheet would have to be very thin so wouldn't be very strong. Connectivity - you would have to find a way of applying the voltage uniformly to the whole of one edge of the sheet, again complicated to make so expensive. Safety - if the sheet gets damaged you may get higher than expected currents flowing through parts of it. It could melt and break, causing an arc.
- Q:I can only think of salt! Is yeast a nutrient? Would it work? Thank-you!
- Nitrates Phosphates Potassium (so there is your famous NPK trio) magnesium (to prevent leaf yellowing) You would need (for example) an inert culture medium like vermiculite and a series of identical plants (eg cuttings, offsets etc) some you would water with all of the nutrients (in suitably dilute form) but miss out the nutrient you are investigating (e.g. nitrate) and some you would water with all the nutrients including the one you are investigating. By comparing the two groups you could get some idea of what the nutrient was used for. (If you deprive a plant of nitrates it generally remains stunted because the nitrate is needed for protein production which is in turn needed for growth). John
- Q:does anybody know of a good subtrate for the pink buffalo mushroom spores? this is my first time trying this strain and i dont know much about it and was wondering if anybody has some info on it that would help me.....i would just like to know what subtrates are best for this strain. the only thing i dont really know about this strain is what kind of subtrate it grows best in and how great the flushes are.......i was thinking a mix of vermiculite, rye seed or grass seed, water.any ideas? i choose best answer
