Q: The effect of vermiculite as a medium on plants
Vermiculite is through high temperature baking, has the advantages of good water absorption, heat insulation, moisture, loose, light, this is the advantage after mixing, but also conducive to the rooting and growth of plants.
Q: Im going to have a Tarantula in a few days and need to have vermiculite before it gets here. Cant wait on shipping. What kind of store sells this. Petco? or something like a plant shop?
Hatchrite is perlite. And perlite and vermiculite are only dangerous if eaten, which a hatchling snake won't do since they don't take their first meal until after their first shed.
Q: instead of perlite is it okay to use vercumulite for my venus flytrap
polyurethane beads
Q: *read title*Please answer both questions.
There is really no specific time of the year that dragons will mate. Healthy bearded dragons that are fed properly prior to breeding can breed any time of the year, except when they are brumating. As for the dig box, AKA laying box, good substrate can consist of a mixture of eco-earth and perilite or vermiculite. The consistency should be moist enough that it clumps together when squeezed without dripping. Place the mixture in a large rubber - made like container, 18 inches deep on one side and 12 inches deep on the other side. Place your gravid female in the laying box with a light and allow her to dig her deposit site. If she does not dig, place her back in her enclosure and wait for her to begin digging again, and then place her back in the laying box. She will dig herself a deposit zone and back herself into the laying area. After she has laid her eggs, allow her to cover the site back up. Once she has stopped covering the site, place her back in her enclosure, give her some water and offer her some food. That is basically all that you need to do with a dig box for your female. It isn't too hard to construct and females take to them rather easily. Their instincts will usually tell them what to do. I hope that I helped. Best of luck! (: -Kenzie
Q: my female gecko just lay 2 eggs about a 30 minute ago. I dont have no incubator. please what do i do I dont want them to die. Please help can i use dirt i dont have vermiculite
Put them in a small, sealed container, gladware or ziplock type disposable food container, or any small plastic box you can see into. You can use soil, it's not the best, but it can work. Just make sure it doesn't have pesticides or fertilizers in it. And not from outside, you don't want any little bugs or nasties trapped in there. Coconut fiber works best in my opinion. What ever you have in the bottom, make sure it's moist, not wet. Inside the sealed container, you want to see just a little moisture on the sides, but not dripping from the top. You don't want the eggs to get wet. If you see condensation forming on the top, open the container carefully and wipe the drops off. Make sure you don't roll the eggs, the top has to stay the top. Put them in the container, seal it, and put it somewhere they will stay between 80 - 90 degrees farenheit. Closer to 90 and the eggs will hatch closer to 30 days. Close 80 and the egs will hatch in closer to 60 days.
Q: My worm farm says to sprinkle a handful of soil every time I add food scraps. I‘m just wondering if it‘s okay to use potting mix?
Soaking peat is cautioned quite. Its very not ordinary to moist and then very not ordinary to dry out. With greater effective drainage your flora wont have fungus themes. you additionally can purchase fertilizer like Epsoma. That has bio tone actual in it. i like it! Its effective bacteria and fungus. they help discourage the growth of undesirable bacteria and fungus. That and made my abode flora lots greater healthful and vivacious than ever. I used it on my orchids too and by no ability had lots of flora. Any way. its un had to sterilize soil for person flora. Its basically for seeds and cuttings. in case you inquire from me I even have grown many seeds and cuttings in in many situations used airborne dirt and dust/potting soil and basically as many grew. the only component that is helped by ability of baking the soil could be killing of fungus nat larva which eat plant roots and stems below the soil.
Q: Question: How does intraspecific competition affect the growth of individuals in a population?1) what would be the manipulated and responding variable?2) using these materials what kind of procedure could you create to test out the question stated aboveMaterials:Seeds(basil, raddish, grass, lettuce)vermiculite or potting soilflower potsscissorsrulerbalance
Even tires of the same make are different, tread patterns ,width etc. Rear tires wear quicker. always go with the better tire then ,if u want when the time comes replace the other.
Q: Does anyone know where I can buy Vermiculite for gardening other than online?
I've been dealing with raccoons (the same female I think) for 3 years. The first thing I recommend for everyone who see raccoons in their neighborhood is to do a thorough inspection of your house to make sure raccoons or squirrels have no access to you attic. Next at the first sign of infestation get a a couple nylon socks, place at least 5 moth balls in it, then soak the nylon socks in pinesol. Throw/place these socks in several locations through out the attic. The smell is very unpleasant for them and they move, but you have to monitor daily. Racoons are smart and they will do their best to remove the offensive smelling socks out of the attic, simply put the socks back again. Also loud noise makes them uncomfortable, I recommend putting a radio in the attic on a metal rock station or a talk show. If you get the chance, shoot the critters, cause they will return every year. Trust me I'm dealing with it!
Q: its sold by 2 pound bags. how much do you think you will need for 1 female about 20 eggs?or if u know a site i can buy vermiculite that would be help ful
You should be able to find vermiculite at a local plant nursery. You could even use potting soil or peat moss with no problem.
Q: In my attic, I have found two types of blown in and/or loose fill shredded insulation, in two layers, totaling 6 inches of depth. The bottom layer is a very dark gray wool, where the top layer is a yellow shredded material that I think is fiberglass. The house was built around 1950. I have been laying blankets of fiberglass insulation to increase the R-value, but I was concerned there might be asbestos. What are the two layers, especially the dark gray one? Rock wool?
The darker one is most-likely rock wool with a mixture of vermiculite.
