Q: I have my bike on a stationary trainer. The rear tire sits on a metal roller. The friction between the tire and the roller is causing rubber to fly off of the tire. Smoke detectors have a lifespan of 10 years. It should have a date on it. My new one has a timer to beep when it's life is up. Maybe yours is telling you it's old Also you can buy a 10 year battery and just not worry about a new detector for that long

Q: My daughter was going to a party last weekend and I was looking for a nice shirt for her to wear. Get your emt certification, then it gives you the best of both worlds. Most of our calls in the fire service are medical assists of some sort, but if you are a firefighter w/ your emt cert then you can do both!

My parents are pretty overprotective (I am twelve and am not allowed to date, babysit for people who aren't in the family or very close friends, go to parties without an official invitation or wear makeup to school), but my mom works for 4 hours two or three times a week, and I am allowed to stay home. If I were you, I would make a rule to stay inside and keep the doors locked.
