FAQ of Building Hosit
Q: What is the building hoist main purpose?
A: Building hoist equipped with double or single cabin to transport the materials and labors up and down. It's the ideal construction equipment for vertical transportation in the field of construction.
Q: What is the main structure of building hoist?
A: The P/M construction hoist mainly contains metal structure, driving system, electrical control system, cable guide & protection system, electrical top crane and safety device.
Q: What is the meaning of the building hoist’s code?
A: Take SC200/200 for example: “SC” stands for rack and pinion hoist, “200/200” stands for double cage and capacity is 2 tons per cage. “SC200” stands for single cage and capacity is 2 tons.
Q: What is the dimension of the cage?
A: Normally the cage dimension is 3X1.5X2.5M (L/W/H) for 2t type hoist. Details should be checked according to our
quotation sheet. Also, the size can be customized according to the factual site condition. There are two doors (entrance& exit doors) for each cage, It can be produced as up & down sliding or ramping model for safety and convenience.
- Q: This question asks for an explanation of how to use an overload protection device specifically in the context of a building hoist.
-
An overload protection device is crucial for a building hoist to prevent accidents caused by excessive weight. First, ensure the device is correctly installed and calibrated according to the manufacturer's instructions. Before operating the hoist, set the overload limit based on the hoist's capacity. During operation, if the load exceeds the set limit, the device should automatically shut down the hoist, preventing further operation. Regularly inspect and test the device to ensure it functions properly. Always follow safety protocols and never attempt to bypass or disable the overload protection system.

- Q: Why is the construction elevator not up to the roof
- Construction elevators are often called construction elevators, but construction lifts include a broader definition, and construction platforms are part of the construction elevator series. Simple construction elevator is by car, driving mechanism, standard section, attached to the wall, chassis, fence, electrical system and so on several parts, manned cargo construction machinery is a frequently used in construction, because of its unique enclosure structure make it take up both comfort and safety, construction elevator is usually used with tower crane on the construction site, the average load in 1-3 tons, running speed is 1 to 60 m/min. The construction elevator of our country is more and more mature, and gradually goes to the international.
- Q: Why is the construction elevator open on one side and the other on the other
- Double door is feeding door, double door to the outside of the other's role is to prevent someone broke into the cage after elevator start circle accident, because outside over the door of the cage has a travel switch, when someone will ring into the cage opened the cage door, travel switch action at this moment, the elevator power cuts, you won't get elevator lay down this kind of thing. The door is open only when the lift is off the ground, as is said upstairs.
- Q: The safety officer shall be responsible for the work of the construction elevator
- In a nutshell, the security officer is responsible for overseeing, checking, training, maintaining, and dismantling
- Q: This question asks for safety guidelines and procedures to be followed when operating a building hoist.
-
To use a building hoist safely, follow these guidelines: Ensure the hoist is regularly inspected and maintained by qualified personnel. Never exceed the hoist's load capacity. Keep the hoist and its surroundings clean and free from debris. Always use safety hooks and never leave the hoist unattended when in use. Ensure all safety features, such as limit switches and emergency stop buttons, are functioning correctly. Train operators on the proper use of the hoist and adhere to all manufacturer's instructions. Never use a hoist if it shows signs of damage or malfunction. Always wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) when operating a hoist.

- Q: Where is the location of the elevator in the project
- The position of construction elevator is usually set in the project to facilitate access to material, material handling and personnel up and down, not affecting the construction process.
- Q: Is it possible to replace a building hoist with an electric winch for the purpose of lifting materials or individuals?
-
While theoretically possible, using an electric winch instead of a building hoist for lifting materials or people is not recommended due to safety concerns and differences in design. Electric winches are typically designed for pulling or towing loads and may not have the necessary safety features, load capacity, or stability required for lifting operations in a construction setting. Building hoists are specifically engineered to lift heavy materials and personnel safely in vertical shafts or on the facade of a building. They are equipped with safety devices and are regulated for construction use, making them the appropriate choice for such tasks.

- Q: This question asks for a comparison of vertical and horizontal lifting in the context of building hoists, highlighting their distinct characteristics.
-
Vertical lifting in a building hoist refers to the movement of materials directly up or down, which is essential for transporting goods between different floors or levels of a building under construction. Horizontal lifting, on the other hand, involves moving materials across a horizontal plane, which is useful for moving items along a floor or between different parts of a construction site. Vertical lifting is typically more common in hoists due to the nature of building construction, requiring frequent vertical transport. Horizontal lifting is less common but can be implemented with specialized equipment or by combining vertical and horizontal movements. The choice between vertical and horizontal lifting depends on the specific requirements of the construction project and the layout of the site.

- Q: This question asks for criteria to differentiate between electric and hydraulic building hoists for selection based on specific needs.
-
When choosing between electric and hydraulic building hoists, consider the following: 1) Power Source: Electric hoists require a reliable electricity supply while hydraulic hoists need a power source for the hydraulic pump. 2) Lifting Capacity: Electric hoists often have higher lifting capacities. 3) Speed: Electric hoists generally offer faster lifting and lowering speeds. 4) Maintenance: Hydraulic hoists may require more frequent maintenance due to fluid changes and potential leaks. 5) Noise: Electric hoists are quieter. 6) Cost: Initial costs and operating expenses should be compared. 7) Safety: Both types have safety features, but electric hoists might offer more advanced safety options. 8) Environmental Factors: Consider weather conditions; electric hoists are less affected by rain and cold. Your choice should align with the project's specific requirements, such as the weight of materials to be lifted, frequency of use, and environmental conditions.

- Q: What are the fundamental parts that make up a building hoist?
-
The basic components of a building hoist include the hoist machine, mast or tower, guide rails, lifting cage, counterweight system, safety devices, electrical control system, and communication system. The hoist machine powers the lifting and lowering of the cage, while the mast provides structural support. Guide rails ensure the cage moves vertically, and the counterweight balances the cage's weight. Safety devices protect against accidents, and the electrical control system manages operations. The communication system allows for coordination between the hoist operator and other construction personnel.
