Q: Can solar panels be installed on a telecommunications tower or antenna?
Yes, solar panels can be installed on a telecommunications tower or antenna. In fact, many telecom companies are increasingly adopting this practice to power their equipment and reduce reliance on grid electricity. Solar panels can be mounted on the tower structure or integrated into the antenna design to generate renewable energy and ensure continuous power supply for telecommunication operations.
Q: What direction do solar panels usually point? North? East? South? West?
Oh wow, please ignore approx 50% of the answers here. We live off-grid and solar is my business. If you are in North America, they should face SOUTH. The comment about them facing the equator is accurate. What has not been said though, is the angle they should be at. For optimal sun exposure, the angle from horizontal for the panel should be equal to your latitude. So if you live in Colorado for example, at approximately 40 degrees latitude, your panel should be at 40 degrees from horizontal.
Q: I need to prepare solar panels for using in home needs electricity purpose. Can anyone could help me to know much more about it.
The following guide is the best DIY guide to build your own Solar Panels. the guide include step by step instructions + video. To Your self a favor and invest on buying this guide (it will save you a lot of time money) tiny /solar55
Q: Can solar panels increase the value of my property?
Yes, solar panels can increase the value of your property. Installing solar panels can be seen as a desirable feature by potential buyers, as it offers the benefit of reduced energy costs and environmental sustainability. Studies have shown that homes with solar panels tend to sell for higher prices compared to similar homes without them. Additionally, solar panels may also attract more buyers, increasing the demand and overall value of your property.
Q: I want to also know if the 0 watt rating on the solar panel is 0 watts per day or is it constantly adding 0 watts? Is there a time which the 0 watts is being added like 0 watts per second or 0 watts per minute and so on?
0 Watt Solar Battery Charger
Q: hey, Im going into my senior year at high school and after that will be moving to Pennsylvania where my family has a house on ten acres and I will be going to college there and living all year around. My father wants to build a huge barn for our cars and other stuff like tools, I mentioned too him what about solar panels on the roof to power maybe the house and barn. Would this be a good Idea? Where would be the best place to look into getting solar panels be? Thanks for anyones help!
This is a site that can help you estimate the size and number of panels that will power what you intend to provide for. There are plenty of sites selling the panels, so compare prices. Also, check whether your state is offering the rebate like the state of CA is and what the restrictions, terms and conditions are. Even with the rebates they are very costly, so be certain to calculate the pay off period for your application to see whether it is a cost efficient option for your energy usage.
Q: How much energy can a solar panel generate?
The amount of energy a solar panel can generate depends on several factors, including its size, efficiency, and the amount of sunlight it receives. On average, a typical solar panel can generate between 250 to 400 watts of power per hour. However, larger and more efficient solar panels can produce even higher amounts of energy.
Q: I don't remember what number exactly but it's in the single digits. This number represents how efficient solar panels are at capturing the sun's rays and converting it into electricity. Why?
There are a lot of solar panels available today's. The problem of the efficiency is the proccess of converting, these cells use the photons of the sun to react with the ( Si compound inside the cell) due to the little thing that cell's are only a fraction of these energy is converted, remember that solar cells are paper thin and the really problem of these cells are the voltage not the amps. A single 3x6 inches solar cells can produce 3.6 amps but only 0.5 volts.
Q: Due to erratic power cuts in my area I want to make up by using a 30watt solar panel. My decoder is 30watt but my TV is 70W. I need something small. I don't have problem with sound. Just picture.
Do what we do when power is cut (although we have very reliable power - we loose as much as 2 hours a year), is go Amish. That is go without powered technology. Now, for you, you need more than a solar panel (and likely more than 30W, but that is a start) - you need a battery or set of batteries to store the collected power. 20Ah might do. You need an inverter to power things. For that, likely a 300W will do. For a TV, go shopping, and look at the labels on the back of the TVs. I just bought a 24 TV rated at 40W. If you get a 9 LED TV, it may be likely you can run that directly from battery, for many have separate DC brick supplies. With those, you can make a cable to power it directly from a 2V or so battery, if the supply can make 2 to 5V. Depending on your provider, you may be able to get a mini-decoder which uses a separate brick or wall supply, which means the decoder likely can be directly battery powered. Such a decoder may draw less than 20W.
Q: I have an off-grid 24volt existing system using 8 x 80 watt 2volt, wired at 24volts, mono solar panels with deep cycle batteries, operating now. I have been given a 240 2volt polly cryst. panel. Can I add this panel to existing panels as above. Thank you, dumb solar man
Assuming that you have / will upgrade wiring sizes to carry the extra wattage, that the new total wattage resulting from the addition doesn't overload any existing charge controller, diodes and / or inverter you have installed, then paralleling it straight into one of the other 2 volt groups should do nothing but add current to the system. True, it will be somewhat imbalanced, but it will work. Your other options would be to reconfigure everything down to it's native 2 V configuration which will raise current and lower voltage, with the additional panel creating the additional current to raise the wattage or to put it in series with the other 4 panel clusters so that you would get 36 V and additional current to account for the raised wattage. One last approach might be to set it up on another battery bank of it's own (small and at 2 V) to then connect to the same inverter. You'd be getting more power and storage capability that way, sort of a partial backup system, really, that will take some of the load off the other components to help extend their useful lives and get a bit more flexibility into it as well. The choice is yours here. That is all the ways that the system can be connected in, assuming everything in the first sentence checks out;-) It's difficult to make a recommendation without knowing what other components are in use and what the maximum ratings they carry are. Just remember that parallel connections add current and voltage stays the same, series connections add voltage and the current remains the same and you can figure out what to do with this thing to help you if you stay within maximum ratings for the charge controller, diodes and / or inverter involved. Good luck and stay safe!
