The trap keeps enough water in it to prevent sewage gasses from backing up into the sink (in your case). If the water is in the trap as it should be, the gasses CAN NOT back up to the sink, the question is why isn't the water staying in the trap like it should ( might be getting syphoned out) or the trap isn't installed properly, or the trap is leaking, it has to be one or the other. Are there other plumbing fixtures in the room that might be letting the gasses back up and it just smells like it's coming from the sink ? Just one rule to remember, if the water is in the trap as it should be, gasses can not back up.

But poop is a physical substance that won't go away from quick contact with water or soap. Maybe you killed the bacteria but that's hardly the issue if there's still smelly crap on your hands.I also hate it when people say the tissue prevents poop from getting on your hand. If you wipe correctly, your pointer finger is covered by the tissue and your thumb will usually get feces on it. Also, it is common to rip the tisse a little with your finger nail.What do you guys think? It doesn't have to be a huge production but I think people need to really scrub away their hands after wiping instead of 1-2-3 &quot;I'm done&quot;.: I don't know how you are managing it but ive never got poop on my hands, maybe you need to buy a better quality toilet tissue or learn how to wipe yourself properly.
