FAQ

I recently moved from Switzerland to the United States. In Switzerland I purchased a German Apple wireless keyboard. Now that I live in the U.S I purchases an American wireless keyboard now that I connect it to my Mac whenever I type the letters are not arranged in a QWERTY keyboard form, for example the Y and Z keys are switched. Any advice?
The system is still set to use the German keyboard layout. You have to change the default keyboard 'input source' to 'U.S.': – Open System Preferences-LanguageText – Go to the tab 'Input Sources'. You'll see a list of keyboard languages. Scroll down and check-mark the entry 'U.S.'. – If you don't want to use the German keyboard ever again, un-check the entry 'German'. In this case, the US keyboard will automatically be activated. – If you want to change occasionally, check the option 'Show input menu in menu bar.' This will display a little flag in the menu bar which you can click to get a menu of all keyboard languages that you have check-marked in the list of keyboard languages.
When the computer is turned on, the keyboard is not searched
, and then forced into the keyboard interface on the motherboard can be.
I have a USB keyboard and mouse (combo thingy). I can not use the USB keyboard and mouse when trying to enter setup, boot menu, or anything like that becasue Windows needs to load the driver for it, which it can't do at that point. My motherboard does not support the old PS2 keyboard, so I'm pretty sure I can't use my old keyboard. What do I do? All I really need to do is enter Linux instead of Windows for a little bit (I am dual booting)
Unplug the usb keyboard from the computer, power the computer down completely and remove the power cord/switch the power switch on the power supply wait 30 seconds plug in power, usb, and try rebooting The usb keyboard should work now, if not, you'll need a different keyboard. USB ports sometimes stay active even when the computer is shut down, so you have to do a cold boot to get them to reactivate themselves on bootup to detect a keyboard. You could try another usb port too.
i want KeyBoard shortcut key to start my PC Turn On
not possible sorry you can only wake it from a sleep
I want a phone with a keyboard (full QWERTY) that works with the carrier, CINGULAR.
i-phone top choice HTC touchscreen with slide out keyboard and microsoft mobile (full left to right is the way to go whichever you choose) the blackjack is decent but i returned mine with 3 days, to difficult to navigate with no touchscreen
I am still not too sure, how much of a hassle is it going around without a keyboard? i am not interested in the touch version and i dont need 3G either.
It really depends what you want to use it for. If you're only going to read, then no keyboard is fine - and cheaper too. However, if you plan to make notes and search things in the dictionary, the keyboard is absolutely necessary. Without it, you could potentially have to scroll through 25 letters to the one you want, and it's a pain in the backside. Personally, I prefer the one with the keyboard - the one I have. It's really useful, and so easy to use. Originally, I bought the one without the keyboard but within two days had it returned because it wasn't practical for my needs. Like I say, it's about what you need. Hope that helped (:
dont know what could have happened, i connected a keyboard to my laptop, and when i finished using it i tried to type on the laptop keyboard and fpor example the L was a 3?help please
Sounds like you have NUMLOCK on, look at the L key, see that the L key also has a 3 on it? Find the NUMLOCK key on the keyboard and turn it off, sounds like you have a space saving keyboard so you may even have to press the fn key plus numlock to turn it on or off! Good Luck.
hey on my keyboard when i click e it comes out as te and when i click q it come out as a tab button and when i click t it comes out as te again how do i fix this?
Give this a try: 1) Turn off your computer 2) Unplug keyboard from computer 3) Turn keyboard upside down over trashcan or outside or someplace you don't care about mess 4) Shake keyboard vigorously for 15-30 seconds. 5) Replug keyboard and turn computer on If this doesn't work, go get a new keyboard for $20. It isn't worth worrying about further. Your keyboard is probably succumbing to old age/you eating around your computer.
