- The spring you found, is the spring tension-er for the belt. You can replace it, and you should be good to go. It probably popped off because either a) the belt is worn out and stretching, or b) you hit some snow that made the blower die out. Either way, the spring goes down on the lower belt roller and back to the block. Real easy to fix. Keep it. I have had my 20 toro paddle snow blower for well over 15 years, and It keeps going like a champ.

- I'd do one in the rooms, or one in the hall just outside the rooms One in the kitchen One in the staircase One in the basement if you have one. If you dont want to run new wiring across the house (and current ones arent interonnected), Kidde now has a Wireless Interconnected smoke alarm. These ones hardwire for power (or battery depending on your requirements), and connect to each other wirelessly. They cost a little more but if you dont have the wire this is the safest method, as all will go off at once. A Carbon Monoxide detector should be required by code as well. I'd use this near your furnace and near the garage entrance, or close to any gas appliances.

- Q:Well…I am looking for a PJAS science fair topic, in the Math category. Basically, they want you to try and prove something, like the distance formula, or pythagorean theorem. - Q:Its the smoke alarm most everyone has. It doesn't need batteries because its a different sound its making. So I had to be woken up at 5:30 a.m. The green light is suppose to be on at all times, but now one of the smoke alarms has their green light blinking. One of them has none off their lights on for some reason, but it still works. The red light blinks every 1 minute and they all do that exept the one that doesn't work. We think carbon dioxide is filling the house. One of the smoke alarms is a carbon dioxide and thats the one thats going off.Any help?
