- Q:my floor tool is broken and i want to buy a new one. can i just buy anything and will it fit universally ? i kno its an irrelevant category but most common people would know this yes or no answer to a common household appliance.. thanks
- um yes
- Q:If sound doesnt travel through a vacuum, why are vacuum cleaners so loud?
- The sound from a vacuum cleaner comes from it's motor. That sound travels through the air around the cleaner to you, never having anything to do with the actual vacuum inside the cleaner.
- Q:Why are dogs afraid of vacuum cleaners?
- I think its the noise that irritates them. I don't like it either! :/
- Q:My mom is looking for a new vacuum cleaner and can't decide between an upright or canister. She has a lot of carpeted areas and bare floor as well. What would you recommend? Can you suggest good vacuum cleaners that aren't too expensive and especially, aren't too heavy or difficult to maneuver?
- I agree with Scorpio, a canister is more convenient for multiple floor types as well as dusting walls, window sills, stair banisters, books, etc. Actually I have both, I like the upright for just carpets; easy to maneuver and store. But when it's time for serious cleaning, out comes the canister.
- Q:Where on Oahu can I sell my 4 rainbow vacuum cleaners?
- You are the one that wanted the sales job.
- Q:My wife and I are looking into getting a new vacuum cleaner. My sister has a Dyson, and she is just in love with it. We know that there is a Dyson out there specifically made for pets (we have a black lab), which is what we are leaning towards. However, we have also heard that there have been a number of Dysons that have been returned due to problems with them. We've also heard that there is a brand of vacuum out there that is supposed to be almost exactly like the Dyson but with limited issues.Does anyone out thereknow of what this other brand is, and what are your experiences with either (Dyson or this other brand)? Good/bad?
- Love my Dyson!!!
- Q:Can I use my vacuum cleaner to suck up the excess co2 in the air?
- Unfortunately, vacuum cleaners are not very selective. They will suck up N2, O2, CO2 and everything else. The other problem is that they squirt it straight out after filtering any dirt particles larger than a certain size. Even if you could capture what was sucked in it would not alter the ratio of CO2 to everything else. That would remain the same. Apart from that, it sounds like a good idea.
- Q:I know that most cats are afraid of the vacuum cleaner, but when we vacuum our adult cat will hide for hours on end. We have dark carpet so we vacuum almost every other day. It took him 4 hours to come out from behind our table, and when I coaxed him to me, he just sat frozen next to me and stared at the vacuum that was across the room. He was literally shivering at the sight of it. When I went to put it away, he went back under the table. I cannot get him to come back out. I've tried leaving him in another room while I vacuum, but he knows how to open doors and hates being shut up in our room or the bathroom. Last time I tried, he opened the bathroom door and then bolted under the table. I'm not sure what to do at this point. I have to vacuum frequently, but I feel guilty when I do because he is so afraid. We have had him for about 2 weeks and are still trying to figure him out. Is this normal cat behavior, or are most cats simply bothered by vacuums?
- Cats hear at a higher scale then humans do so he probably hears stuff that you can't (like, nerve wrecking stuff). My cats have adjusted to having things vaccumed since they've been living with it for 12 years now--they just get up on something high (where we don't vacuum) or at least off the floor like a chair or bed and sit up there quite relaxed. We never tease them with the vaccum, we just get the floors done as quickly as possible. You've only had your guy for 2 weeks so this is probably something quite new (and noisy) for him. He'll get used to it but don't tease him with the vacuum ever, and just reassure him quietly as you vacuum. Even our skiddish male has grown so blase about the vacuum.
- Q:what is the best brand of vacuum cleaner? I'm about to buy one!?
- Kenmore has some really good vacs for the money, consumers reports rated them really high. look for 12 amps with easy hose disconnects and attachments for edging and cob web plus you may be doing the car also.
- Q:which are the best vacuum cleaners?
- For years, I always had Eureka. They are good, but 4 yrs ago, I bought an Oreck and I would not buy any other brand. It is lightweight, is great for allergens and it cleans well. I take it in for maintenance once a year. The first three or four years it is cost free for maintenance. I like the fact that it is self leveling when you go from hard surfaces to carpet. I recommend an Oreck. They may cost a bit more, (varies as to styles,) but to me they are well worth their price. I use my on tile, linoleum, parquet wood flooring, and carpet with ease and efficiency. I've never had my Oreck to kick out any dirt particles to the back of the vacuum as I have had with other uprights. I also have an Oreck cannister/with shoulder strap that is lightweight to use for cleaning upholstery, stairs, baseboards and ceiling fans etc.
