Q:avr is automatic voltage regulator for power generators: If you mean the build-in pcb of a fuel/diesel generator which build-up voltage initially and then keep it stable under any load, then read this: First you need to see your generator minimum requirements to determine specs of AVR. You will probably found a label on generator with those Information: Ex. volt (maximum excitation voltage) Ex. amp (maximum excitation amperage) Your AVR output must exceed those specs. If generator is brushless type in most cases it does. Also input voltage of AVR must be the same as output of generator (ex. 110V110V, 220V220V). If generator is triple phase then you can do the same (ex. 380V380V, 440V440V) but if generator have output in star formation then you can use node for a smaller voltage of AVR (ex. 380V220V, 440V253V). If generator work in parallel operation (usually marine main generators does) then things get complicated. In this case AVR is good to support current transformer to make generator more elastic under load fluctuations and match other generators in the same circuit.

Q:I am a programmer. And a engineer. Me and my team have been working on a project. Can't really put much detail in the project other than it needs to be powered by something heavy. This project consists of land and air activity so it is a electricity killer. We have tried a very heave battery and charger_ failed. Gasoline isn't an option in this case. Can I keep the motor and swap a generator hook up: The power of the diesel is matched to the electrical power rating. In theory, the Diesel requires 21hp to drive a 15kW output and is actually 25 (or more). The Diesel cannot deliver more electrical power. The oversizing of the prime mover (diesel) helps to absorb starting loads and prevent full throttle operation at rated output. In addition, specific exciter voltage is often drawn from the engine. The bell housing and couplings which join the engine to the generator are also likely to be specific. The chances of DIY improvement a slim.

Q:I'm a student majoring in Architecture one of my class, Building Utilities, needs me to survey a high rise building. In my team, we divided the parts bc there are so many and one of my job is to electricity. Can someone explain to me the meaning of phase, R.P.M, power factor, and (especially) their respective units/numbers from this picture: 'Phase' has no units: it is merely a number, in this case 3. It is the number of different live supplies coming out of the generator. On the blue label in your picture, to the right of the word PHASE there is a small clear panel. The 3 followed by a greek letter 'phi' is the number of phases. Then there is '4 W'. This tells you that the generator is wired in 'star' layout with a total of four wires. Three carry the live supplies and one is a neutral wire. Your building will have a lot of wall outlets and some heavy loads; for example, the motors for the elevators. The wall outlets are single phase, connected to only one of the phases from the generator. Heavy loads are often connected to all three phases. 'R.P.M'. is revolutions per minute , which means 'how many times the rotating part of the generator rotates in one minute'. 'Power factor' again has no units. An explanation of what it is? I'll come back to that later (or someone else can) .

Q:I know I take for granted that I have indoor plumbing but where does the water pressure that causes water to flow come from when I turn on my sink? Is it a pump. Where does the energy come from?: Sometimes pumps are used to maintain water pressure, sometimes water towers which still needs pumps. Q:A concert is in the works to raise money to help save the Everglades in Florida. I am looking to get as many people interested in the cause as possible. So what would make you want to go to this concert? Bands, the host, food, activities, location, day/night, etc.: 1. Do your research on how you or your partners are going to fund an event of this magnitude. Although the Government does not give out much grant money, they are more apt to give grants to non-profit organizations or fund events such as yours where it may be something to help the community. 2. This has been a fight that has been going on for many years and now people are just starting to listen. I would say catch their attention while it's there. Market the event by telling people what the event is about beforehand and don't spring it on them by having a tree hugger come out to give a speech before or during the bands performance, Buzz Kill! Try to have musicians from all different genres to participate this way it will show the unified effort to send the message. FYI When you start looking for your musicians, try to speak to them directly and not their managers. Most managers are looking for the bottom dollar and looking out for themselves, not having the artist' best interest in mind. Most artist' are eco-conscious people so who knows? You might have their participation for a small fee this way you could spend more of that budget on other costs, marketing, ads, campaigning etc. Exploit that! Imagine the pressure on the seawater systems. Tons of leaks, no matter how good it's engineered. But anywayAll depth and speed capabilities of US submarines are classified. All US submarines are currently nuclear powered, but have a diesel generator as a sort of underway emergency electrical power, usually not run. Clean air for the crew's life support, and normal ship's systems is made via an oxygen generator that separates hydrogen and oxygen found in water. However this is inadequate for running the ships diesel. The ship does have a sort of blowhole called the snorkle, that can intake fresh air from the surface while maintaining the boat underwater to be used for the diesel, or to ventilate the ship very effectively with fresh air. This is always welcome, because oxygen content of fresh air is normally higher than that of the recirculated air. Also, the recirculated air smells like chemicals and makes your clothes smell and your cigarettes taste like garbage. Submarines don't have windows that go out, because it would be pointless underwater, and on the surface the boat is steered from the bridge. Clean water is made from steam, provided from the ship's reactor. The time spent underwater is only limited by food.
