Q:I hurt my upper back last night while doing dumbbell shoulder presses. Today, the area is sore and is incapable of supporting much (if any) weight. Any ideas what I did to it?
You may have used too much weight on the presses. Sometimes the body needs a rest. Are you doing these daily? You should not work the same muscle group every day. Alternate between days doing different workouts. I like to recommend the upper body work out every other day, and the lower body workouts the opposite to give the muscles a rest. Sometime when we are a little under the weather our body is telling us not to over do take it easy a day or so. Give it a couple days of rest before working out again. Sounds like a pulled muscle.
Q:How do I contact John McCain's Press Secretary?
You okorder
Q:I'm 19 and I used to wear revlon loose powder and want to change the brand. Also i'm thinking of start using pressed powder.BTW, i'm normal to dry skin.sorry for my grammar. my first language is not english.
The 'stay matte' pressed powder from rimmel london is amazing!!!
Q:Whenever I do flat bench presses or incline bench presses, my arms are what get sore. Isn't my chest supposed to feel the burn? Am I doing something wrong?
Presses are compound exercises, which mean they incorporate numerous muscles, including the triceps, shoulders and chest. The lats, traps and core also help support the motion. So depending upon which muscle is the weak link, you'll feel the lift in different places. However it's always good to review technique. Check out the video I have listed in sources, it's pretty informal, but solid information.
Q:Id like to get my girlfriend a french press as one of her birthday gifts but the problem is I know nothing about them. Every time I do some research I just come across the same few. I'd like to find the best possible so any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, thanks.
if you want to get her a really nice one check out the description on the stainless model from BODUM sold by Sweet Maria's... Link below..
Q:Help! I've been stuck benching 140lbs for a good 1 month. I try overloading but it has not worked because I would just get tired. I'm 15 years old, 5'3 and weigh 105lbs. Is it because of my weight? My height? Or is it because I have adapted to bench pressing that it has no effect on me? I have mostly been working on my Fast Twitching Muscle Fibers. Maybe this is the cause of my plateau.I'm willing to switch to endurance exercises to improve my Slow Twitching Muscle Fibers but I'm not sure if this will help me break my plateau.Any advice will be appreciated.
the concern i think of you will desire to do is replace your workout. double reps, do some days of various extra gadgets etc. attempt staring at muscle and wellness magazine or there cyber web web site. seek for advice from own coach
Q:I have never bench press before in my life and really have never lifted weights. Im 15 years old and weigh about 155 and im 6 foot 1 inches. How much weight did you start with your first time I think I can do 100 lbs but is that to low. Any tips will help I plan on trying on tow days from now. Thanks
if you have never bench pressed before 100lbs is not a bad place to start based on the info you have given be sure to warm up before you try to max out though otherwise the amount won't be accurate but bench pressing you should try to shoot for your body weight don't hurt yourself have a spotter
Q:I want to make my own herbal tinctures at home, such as echinacea and cayenne tinctures. I see presses vary in price, from around $40 to almost a thousand $. Does a $40 herb press do the job, this job being to be able to make a few quarts of tincture from one batch of herbs?
I have never heard of using a press for tinctures. I think of a press for expelling oils. Tinctures are liquid extracts using the herb and a medium like alcohol (grain alcohol or vodka), vinegar or glycerin. When I make tincture, I am usually using fresh leaves. I get enough leaves to fill the bottle. I run the leaves through the food processor and pack the bottle. Then I fill the bottle with the liquid. I use 90 proof vodka or grain alcohol with water 50/50. Vinegar I use straight. I have never tried glycerin for my homemade tinctures. I did make valerian tincture a long time ago. I used the powdered root and I forget the amount I used. You can use leaves, flowers, roots or the peppers, crush or chop and for dry ingredients fill your container halfway and then add the alcohol. I would spend my money on bottles, herbs or alcohol rather than a press. Good luck! Making a gallon would require a lot of herbs. Dry herbs would be equal to half a gallon of chopped herbs to a gallon of alcohol. Most tinctures need to age for around 6-8 weeks. Then you strain them out through a sieve and then a cheesecloth or tightly woven white towel. Then bottle. Remember, tinctures are strong medicines. Use them by drops or dilute before ingesting.
Q:I am trying to become a Freelance Photographer and sell my photos to the local newspapers and other media organizations. I plan on taking pictures of crime scenes and different law enforcement / fire department events in my area.I've talked to a few people and they all told me that I would need a Press Pass. I am unsure as how to get one (I call the different newspapers and places like that and they say that they only issue them to their employees and are not for freelance photographers like myself). If I am a freelance photographer, do I really need one? If so, could I just create my own business and make my own press pass for that business?(I am in California, Los Angeles County)
First off Oh enlightened one!, Glenn Back called for Ms. Sherrod to get her job back two days ago, while the other news outfits were still airing the original tape, second Acorn was exactly what it seemed, people cheating the system, and was not some Fox machination. It absolutely amazes me how much truth bothers you people. Then you wonder why things are so screwed up, amazing. Also it was liberal journalists; and I use that term very loosely, that conspired to cover up the Rev Wright, scandal and other things by just picking conservatives names out of a hat and calling them racist, with nothing to back it up, just because they knew that idiots like you would jump all over it, just like you did, also amazing how easily you're manipulated.
Q:What free weight should I buy? I want to work on toning and building my arms, chest, and buttocks. I can't afford the gym and I'm on a budget. Also, does running help build muscle? I'm really skinny I weigh 135 lbs and i'm 5'11. I'm 21. Should I purchase dumb bells or a bench press?
dumbbell if you buy the changing weight ones with a bunch of weight. their is an endless number of excursizes that you can do with dumbbells. with the bench press all you can do it the bench press, power cleans, front squats, deal lifts, military press, snatch, curls, tricep extensions. that sounds like a lot of different things but if you keep doing those same things then your body will get use to it and they wont be that effective. dumbbells excersizes curls, tricept extensions, french press, dumbbells press, chest flys, rows, seated curls, preacher curls, contraction curls, shoulder press, arnold press, front and side raises, shoulder flys, DB squats, DB dead lifts, step ups, push up rows, hammer curls, twist curls, DB swings DB snatch, DB power clean, DB over head squats, squat and press, and soooo many more there is an endless possibility with dumbbells if you have enough weight. i say go with the dumbbells.
