Q:I have a 1994 toyota pickup 2wd. Just recently it had a wire burn up on the wiring harness running to the alternator from the main harness. It burned the ground clean off the alternator the first time then I fixed the wiring and the second time it did it again but on the ground running to the fender but it was the same wire but on the other side of the plug in. When going down the road, the lights and radio would start skipping then the truck motor would start skipping also then just shut completely off. Thats where i found that wire burnt up. I can't fix it after two attempts. Please help
When a vehicle gets to around 15 to 20 years old is when wiring problems usually develop. The places that I would at look first are all the ground wires, ground to engine, engine to chassis, chassis to body, etc. As the ground wires on a vehicle get crusty with age you get bad connections (it's called resistance in the circuit), this will cause back feeds.and cause components to go haywire. This is what I would do, clean off the surface where the wire goes, make it shine and put a dab of never seize on it. Your ground connection at that point will last for many years. You will want to check the ground wires themselves, when they get old enough they can fall apart inside under the insulation. While your at it, also go over the positive side of the circuit like the battery cable to the starter solenoid where you have the positive feed connection for inside the cab. One more thing, pull the harness plug that goes into the firewall to see if your contact points are crusty and corroded. This is the best I can give you without looking at it, I think it will help you.
Q:I bought a (Sony Xplod CDXGT240) stereo at best buy and i need to know what type of wiring harness i need to connect it? Its a 2004 mustang with the Mach audio system, so it has a little factory amp that it comes with. Is there a specific model number for the harness or can someone provide a pic of the one that I need? Q:Dealership claims rats chewed through the knock sensor wire harness, and I'm just curious what this part is actually doing?
The knock sensor is used to control engine timing as well as fuel mixture. Under the right acceleration conditions the engine needs to be about 1/2 a degree advanced from the point at which knock (ping) occurs. The knock sensor helps the ECM know where that point is.
Q:I have a 1995 GMC suburban k1500 5.7L. They make a 7.4L motor for this specific truck as well same make and model suburban just different option. I just don't know if the wire harness is different.
More than likely it's different but no need to swap the entire thing, just the parts that are different. Most likely the ignition system and probably the location of the other sensors like oil pressure, water temp and maybe the location of a few other items like alternator and starter.
Q:I am trying to put a aftermarket starieo in my thunderbird. but I can not seem to find the speaker wire harness. I have one harness that the power goes to and i have that plagued in and working. But, I can seem to find the speaker set. The only thing I have is a square looking plug, the plug has 8 wires going to it, but i don't know if this is my speaker set or not. I don't want to start chopping that up till I know its the right one. SOME ONE HELP!
The square one is the speaker harness. My probe has the same setup. The best thing you can do is to buy a harness kit so you don't have to cut your original wires. Also, I'm sure your car has a factory amp, so you will need to buy an amp integration harness to use your factory amp. If you don't use your factory amp, then you'll have to run your own speaker wires because you'll get no sound if your amp doesn't turn on OR they most likely make an amp bypass harness that you will need to buy. If you have a power antenna, the harness kit will make it easy for that to work again too.
Q:I have a 1998 Isuzu Rodeo and it has a recall on it that cant be fixed due to expiration. Is there somewhere online or a place i can get a wiring diagram or underhood diagram of the suv. for the engine wiring and stuff
Should be able to do all that with a Haynes manual (best $20 you could possibly spend for the vehicle). Replacement harness can be had at junkyard or OKorder, if needed.

Q:hi i have a 1998 grand prix im gonna install wire harness i got from junkyard due to many broken and melted together wires anyway i have the other one but some wires are cut everything is color coated so its easy but there are to black wires idk what they go to or if it matters if i just connect them 1998 grand prix 3.8 non supercharged
black is generally a ground wire, depending on your vehicles configuration
Q:I have a Honda CB 350 K4 1971. I am rebuilding the entire bike. When i first got it, someone else already took some things off of the bike. All the wiring turns out to be one of them. I need to know how the wires go on the bike. like does it go through the frame? or hang off the frame through some hooks?Pictures would be a great help. Thanks.
cgi.OKorder .uk/Haynes-Manual-HOND The wiring is unlikely to be in fantastic condition if it has been stripped off and is 40 years old, you might need to rewire it – use the old loom to build up the new one, owners clubs will be helpful, guessing that the wiring is hanging off the frame, in-frame wiring is not a high-intensity production feature.
Q:i bought a new sony xplode cd player for my 1999 ford mustangi got the scosche wiring harness fdo21 and it just doesnt match up to the wiress in the dash even though it says ford and has the the right year on the box
that wiring harness you bought gets wired to the wiring harness from you new head units wiring and plugs into were you unplug ed your factory head unit from.they call it plug and play.do not cut the plugs off your wiring harness under the dash.all wiring done on a bench tape or cap all contacts even the unused ones so you have no shorts.then just plug each plug into its own plug in.there's only one way they will fit and remove the contact covers in the plugs before you plug them in.and follow the wiring diagram that came with it the colors match up if you have the right make and yr and model of the plug in that fits your car.the (color code gets matched to the new stereos wiring)has nothing to do with wiring under dash,this is why you bought the plug in in the first place so you did not have to deal with all the dash wiring,it should plug in just like your factory stereo did.
