- The wheel bearing is pressed into the spindle on all front wheel drive cars and secured by three hardened bolts by the ears on the bearing. Unless the spindle is damaged all you need is a new complete bolt in wheel bearing. Napa has them for $85.00. It's best to remove the spindle from the lower ball joint remove the strut unbolt the old wheel bearing and press it out. The new wheel bearing assembly is pulled back in by the three hardened bolts.
