Q:I have standard internal telephone cable in my house, but the RJ11 connector at one end has broken. I have another RJ11 connector but not sure how to connect it up correctly to the lead. Anyone know of any websites with a diagram? Thanks in advance.
only the middle two are used for red green any order
Q:I have a 99 dodge ram 1500 the fog lights wires are just complete **** so I'm trashing them all btw the fog lights don't work is there a way to test the connectors for them and the bulbs cuz I'm not sure exactly what wrong I'm just doing it the easy way re wire everything and aftermarket switch because the stock ones indicator light doesn't even go on when I flash it so I was wondering if there was a way to test the bulb without like listening to the noise thanks
It sounds like your fogs are wired to the indicator lights and since your indicators dont work then that might be your problem and not the fogs or wiring. First thing to do is get your indicators to work. check your fuses and bulbs. replace as necessary. when you get them working then with your indicator lights on use a test light to check for power at the foglights connection. if there is power then your fog light bulbs are not good. if there is no power then ensure the wires are properly connected to the indicator light. As long as it is connected to the indicator light properly and there is power at the indicator light then it should work.
Q:I’m replacing the existing light switch with a built-in timer, but I have a problem: I cannot use twist-on wire connectors as they occupy too much space in a switch box.Is it safe to use just an electrical tape?
The NEC does not allow you to use butt connectors on wire unless it is stranded. Electrical tape is not an approved mechanical splice. Soldering is not approved for that use unless the house is wired with Knob and tube, if that is the case you need to use the correct knot and then solder it. you won't have room for that. So that leaves the quick splice connectors which probably will take up the same amount of room as a wire nut. If all else fails you may have to install another cut in box above the existing switch box and patch the hole left by the old box.
Q:I just got a new PSU today (My previous one was dead when I bought it). It came with an 8-pin EPS 12V connector and a 4-pin ATX 12V connector. My motherboard supports both. I have a Intel i7 930 core. I've heard that I could plug in either one and it would still boot up, but I've also heard that plugging in the wrong one would either fry the CPU or cause instability. Which one should I plug in?PSU: Antec EarthWatt 500W
If you have both, plug in the 8-pin EPS connector. It definitely won't hurt. It only makes a difference when you get into extreme overclocking (4+ GHz) and you start pulling ridiculous amounts of current through the CPU. The 130W Thermal Design Power of that processor isn't a maximum value, it's the normal, heatsink design level for running at stated clock speeds. Under extreme overclocking and overvolting, those silly processors can pull twice that much - assuming you have an extreme cooling system that keeps the cpu from burning up. At stock speeds, the 4 pin connector (rated for 150W @ 12V) is more than adequate.
Q:I have a Spire SP-ATX-420WTN-PFC PSU and I will buy an ATi Radeon HD 5850.I want to know if my PSU has enough pin connectors for this GPUThank you and sorry for my English.
it incredibly is style of susceptible. I even have an identical card in my device, and run a 1100Watt PSU , yet it relatively is in anticipation of including a 2nd interior the destiny. it may in all danger skill up, yet i does no longer have confidence the soundness of the rails. i could ought to propose buying a extensively extra effective CPU by a great variety, Corsair, Antec, etc. an person-friendly device load with the 5850 is 500-600watts, (at finished load). so which you are going to locate the place it must be taxed below heavy utility. 2 -- i can't assure no harm,. because of the fact I even have broken a Gfx card as a results of a susceptible CPU, in spite of if it became into an extremely susceptible everyday HP PSU. in case you won yet another PSU in a incredibly speedy volume of time i do no longer think of you've any issues. solid success,
Q:I have two hard drives and a DVD/RW. The IDE cable I have in there now only has enough connectors to hook up two devices, do they sell IDE cables with enough connectors to hook up three devices? If so, where can I buy one? Circuit City? Best Buy?
Most motherboards have 2 Ide conecctors then the data cable has to have 2 conectors for 2 devices master and slave, this mean if you have the right data cable you can conecct 4 devices, that will be master1,slave1,master2,slave2 and those cables you can find it and any computer store.
Q:I just went to pet smart and bought him another tag with his name and my number. The problem in that the ring that connects it to his collar is too weak. I don't want to use a larger key-chain style connector, because that would hang too low. What can I use that is little and strong?
I know you said you didn't want to use a regular key chain but it really does work. I had the same problem with my dog's name tag-it constantly fell off in the yard. I just used a regular key chain and it works great. I do have a bigger dog though, so I don't notice that the tag hangs too low.
Q:I want to know if once the HDMI signal is converted to VGA can I use a VGA to DVI connector to attach it to a DVI slot?
The HDMI signal cannot be (easily) connected to a VGA because HDMI is digital, and VGA is analog. Also, be wary as there are 2 types of DVI connections. DVI-I and DVI-D. DVI-I is analog and thus cannot be (easily) connected to HDMI, but can be connected to VGA. DVI-D is digital, and can be connected to HDMI, but not VGA. I know this is confusing, but you need to know that for simple converters, you can only connected Digital to Digital and Analog to Analog. Therefore, for your question, I would go directly from HDMI to DVI-D. If you were to try and connect digital and analog signals together, you would need a live converter, which is quite expensive to the extent where it would be cheaper to buy a new monitor.
Q:Before everyone tells me I'm crazyMy sub-woofer accepts only a vga 9 pin connector as an input. I know that VGA has nothing to do with audio but this is the connection that creative labs decided to use on this sub to work with the control unit. Now I don't want to use this control unitI want to use it with my home theater receive because this sub is actually quite good. What I'm looking for is a vga to digital audio coaxial converter. Do these animals even exist or do I need to figure out what each pin does and make my own. Any links would beumhelpful.
The connector is called a Mini-D connector and is used for lots of applications, not just VGA. The beauty of it is that it can only connect 1 way. You cannot use your home theater receiver with the Creative unit. The sub includes a power amplifier and crossover circuits to take the line-level signals from the control unit, fed from 3.5mm headphone jacks on a sound card and it then powers the sub and the external speakers. This is a closed system without the ability to swap parts out or use it with other gear. You CAN find coaxial-digital to left/right analog converters on Amazon for about $50. Then if you can figure out which pins - you can hook into the 9 pin connector on the sub and it MIGHT work. (Cut the end off a pair of RCA cables and strip back the shield and white insulation to expose the center wire. This is what you insert into the D connector. The trick - finding out which pin. The other trick - you have bypassed the volume control.) In general - computer speakers and home theater gear do not mix. They have different inputs, make different assumptions about the signals and fill different size requirements. (Yes - I have seen the picture of the happy, smiling guys around a HDTV with the computer speakers. Creative/Logitech love you to do this - because you burn the speakers out very quickly trying to be room-fillers.)
Q:i wanna know if a 4gb ipod connector transfer songs to a 8bg ipod toch
All iPod connectors use the same type of connection and therefore work on all iPods. Of course it will.
