FAQ

I live in a condo that says the skylights are considered windows and our bylaws doesn't say anything about skylights and the roof. Does anyone know if skylights are part of the roof or are they considered windows. If anyone knows the answer to this question, I would really appreciate hearing from you. Thank you for reading my question and have a wonderful day.
Skylights are indeed considered window units, because they provide the same function as windows set in the wall, namely providing illumination to the interior of your condo. That being said, I agree with Oil field's statement. If your skylights are are in good condition, a good contractor can work around them, just as the contractor indicated to your husband. Unless there is some ironclad provision within your bylaws that mandate that the management co has the final say so on whether or not the skylights get replaced, keep at the co. and the board of directors and maybe try to get in touch with your local housing authority for possibly their ruling on this matter. ( If they have the authority to do so. They do in most localities that I know of) Be sure to make copies of any and all correspondence that you have regarding this matter. Best of luck to you!
We have been struggling with mold in our home for almost 4 years now. It was making us and our baby sick, so we have put all of our money into remediating the mold and are out of money for now. We were out of the house for 10 months while they remediated. When we came back, we became sick again. We have no where to go and we barely have food to eat lately, but now we smell a mustiness coming from the wall where a window is, right above the porch roof. The mustiness is worse after the rain. It makes my baby cough and it makes him congested. Sometimes he is up all night coughing.Could some kind person with smarts point us in the right direction of how to find and hopefully remedy the problem? We were even considering putting a tarp on the porch roof, but we don't know how to put it up there and we don't know if it would fix the problem.Maybe the windows are not flashed correctly I read somewhere. Could anyone please help?
Damp regions of the country will have more mold problems than the dry ones. Move to a dryer climate into premises that you know won't have leak problems. Ever wonder why so many people move to the south west? The dryer climate has fewer molds. Avoid older remodeled homes. I know this sounds extreme, but if you are sensitive to molds, this might be your solution.
Below loft is a bedroom and that has wet patches on the ceiling. What is causing this?
the problem around the velux is all so causing the other leaks ..they have not fitted the flashing kit correctly .. you need to get them back
I have a 03 explorer and the windows and moon roof wont go up and the radio wont turn on i checked all the fuses they are all good I don't know what it could be could someone tell me what it could be
did you check that fuses were getting power. use a test light on both sides of fuses. most all power windows get power from drivers side . see if getting power to drivers switch for windows dont know about moon roof. look for relays.
Suzy drops a rock from the roof of her house. Mary sees the rock pass her 5.7 m tall window in 0.186 sec. From how high above the top of the window was the rock dropped? The acceleration of gravity is 9.8 m/s2.Answer in units of m
Suzy drops a rock from the roof of her house. Mary sees the rock pass her 5.7 m tall window in 0.186 sec. From how high above the top of the window was the rock dropped? The acceleration of gravity is 9.8 m/s2 vf = vi + a * t = vi + 9.8 * 0.186 Eq#2: vf = vi + 1.8228 Substitute vi + 1.8228 for vf in Eq#1 (vi + 1.8228)^2 – vi^2 = 111.72 vi^2 + 3.6456 * vi + 1.8228^2 – vi^2 = 111.72 3.6456 * vi + 1.8228^2 = 117.72 3.6456 * vi = 111.72 – 1.8228^2 vi = (111.72 – 1.8228^2) ÷ 3.6456 = 29.73 m/s To determine the initial height of the stone, we need to know the distance the stone falls before it reaches the top of the window. Distance = Average velocity * time Average velocity = ? * (vi + vf) Distance = ? * (vi + vf) * time 5.7 = ? * (vi + vf) * 0.186 Eq#1: vi + vf = 5.7 ÷ 0.093 vf = vi + a * t vf = vi + 9.8 * 0.186 Eq#2: vf = vi + 1.8228 Substitute vi + 1.8228 for vf in Eq#1. vi + vi + 1.8228 = 5.7 ÷ 0.093 2 * vi = (5.7 ÷ 0.093) – 1.8228 vi = [(5.7 ÷ 0.093) – 1.8228] ÷ 2 vi = 29.73 m/s This is the velocity of the rock when it reaches the top of the window. As the rock falls from her hand to the top of the window, its velocity increases from 0 m/s to 29.73 m/s at the rate of 9.8 m/s each second. Time of fall = 29.73 ÷ 9.8 Distance of fall = ? * a * t^2 = ? * 9.8 * (29.73 ÷ 9.8)^2 Distance of fall = 45.1 meters This is the distance from Suzy’s hand to the top of the window. Check vf^2 = vi^2 + 2 * a * d, vi = 0 m/s, a = 9.8 m/s^2, d = 45.1 m vf^2 = 2 * 9.8 * 45.1 vf = √(2 * 9.8 * 45.1) = 29.73 m/s This is the velocity at the top of the window. Velocity at the bottom of the window = 29.73 + 9.8 * 0.186 = 31.5528 Distance = ? * (vi + vf) * time = ? * (29.73 + 31.5528) * 0.186 = 5.7 m This is the height of the window. So, I believe the answer is correct.
How is luggage space in estate cars measured? Is it up to the roof, the parcel shelf or the window line?
Up to the roof otherwise if you cut the back part of the roof off to the window line you would end up with a trunk space
what is the best color of roof if the house exterior is red and the windows and trims are white?
It depends on the shade of red, but I suggest a terr cotta color. Think Italian villa...
plz help they are keep breaking i am tried making them over and over!
Well, they keep breaking because they made from natural materials. EA probably wanted to make the game as close to reality as possible, thus the leaves will detoriate, or rot away. That's why you have to keep repairing them. It requires maintenance.
