Q:Changed my motorcycles front brake pads,Had to push the piston back a little bit to get them to go back on the caliper (new pads had more meat) Then I pumped my brake a few times to get a good pressure now they are REALLY tightShould I just wear em down by riding with zero glide?Should I take the brakes off and manually push the pads back?Or would brake bleeding resolve this issue?
if bleeding doesn't work, remove the piston and clean it with emory cloth
Q:I only know that the mountain car brakes have disc brakes and v brake two.
Simply say it, V brake is the advantage of light, the disadvantage is affected by the weather and various conditions affect the braking effect; disc brake is the advantage of good brake feel, easier to control the intensity of the shortcomings of a long time when the brake is not good Affect the brake effect, disc brake sub-disc and oil dish, disc feel better than oil dish
Q:Approximately 3 weeks ago I brought my motorcycle to a repair shop because the front brakes were locking up They informed me that the bike was fixed and could be picked up. I jumped on the bike and rode off. Before I even reached 500 ft the brakes locked up again and threw me off the bike at 50 mph causing severe road rash along my entire body and fractures in my foot. My question is: is the repair shop liable for all costs involved, i.e medical costs, repair of the bike, pain and suffering? Here are some random facts:The bike is relatively new with 1200 miles on itI never signed anything waiving my rights for the repairsThis was a reoccurring problem with the brakes. The purchase order even said The front brakes are locking up. FIX THEM The weather conditions were sunny with no rain and I did not even touch the brakes before they locked up. There was a gentleman on the scene that picked up the bike and informed me that the front brakes were still locked into place/
hi mate if it was my bike and did and the shop did not repair your bike brakes properly i would take it back to them and ask what is going on. And i would ASK for my money back or ask to speak to the boss and ask what the hell is going on this shop. that is it relly mate please vote me as your best anwer
Q:I bought a used 2007 Honda Shadow vt600cd VLX a few weeks ago. This is my first bike, I want to make sure I keep it maintained properly. However, I did not get an owners manual or service manual with it. What kind of engine oil should I put in it? And my front brake fluid is very low. What kind of brake fluid do I use? thanks.
Better question would be: What would you rather watch, McCain singing songs about bombing Iran or Palin's interview with Katie Curic?
Q:I have a bicycle, and both brake levers are used to stop the wheels. Why do the motorcycles behave differently ???
Some older Harley's (pre-1960, don't know the exact model years) had something known as a suicide shifter. On those the clutch was a foot pedal on the left side with a handle on the left (similar to a shift handle on a car). You could probably get a custom bike made with a suicide shifter. Shifting one of those going at high speed through a corner was a challenge, hence the name. At one time the Yamaha FJR was available with what was known as thumb shifters, as I recall it worked like an automatic (no clutch). I don't know what the position of other controls were. None of these non-traditional setups have enjoyed commercial success. Some bikes come with what is known as a linked braking system, with those you only need to apply one braking lever (hand or foot) and the bike applies both brakes. BMW w/ABS brakes are an example of these. Get yourself a scooter not a motorcycle.
Q:Hi all, I am 19 year old male and I was thinking to buy motorcycle for a long time. Problem is I am very scared of it, whenever i say to someone that i want to buy one they always say Oh, you wonna get yourself killed?, Do you wonna be in wheelchair? and etcAre motorycles really that dangerous?P.S. Sorry for my bad english :)
Yes they are very dangerous. However, you can do as much as possible to minimize that risk! For starters, you want to wear as much quality gear as possible. Helmet, jacket, pants, gloves, boots. And I'm talking motorcycle specific gearjeans don't hold up. Next you want to take riding courses, such as the MSF, to give you a solid background and help develop your skills. Finally, this is the most importantyou need to be 110% aware of everything. Other people around you, road surface conditions, throttle control, body positionetc. You really need to learn how to anticipate events so that you can plan ahead and get out of a would-be bad situation. Still, at the end of the day, it is risky. There are times which you just can't avoid a bad situation. But you can reduce all the other risks as much as possible. It's not for everyone, but if you try it, you may just find out that you love it more than anything else!!
Q:I hava a 2006 Susuki C50 Boulevard and it keeps shutting off while I am braking or down shifting. It also will not stay cranked just idleing. Anyone know why and how I can fix it?
It doesn't have anything to do with braking or shifting. It just shuts down whenever you let off the gas. It could be idle adjustment, clogged idle jets, out of sync carbs, a vacuum leak or a worn engine.
Q:How is the motorcycle maintenance?
Have time to think about the performance of the car to play out, for example, to find a suitable place to open the fastest time to open the car is not afraid of bad .. I often
Q:I‘m debating what car I should get. I don‘t like cars. I gave my car (a4) away a year after i got a motorcycle; i didn‘t use the car at all. But now I realise that when motorcycle brakes and i need to take it to the dealer (BMW needs special tools) I need a car. Also you can‘t fit more then three people on a motorcycle. Pick-ups are nice and awesome but i like going fast through turns and better millage. Ford transit is practical but i want to have smtn i can drive in a day light without being embarrassed. so if i put my k1200s sideways, do u think i can fit it in a6? does anyone have experience with that?
that sounds really retarded a car engine on a motorcycle, but it has been done on a cruiser but not on a crotch rocket?? that would defiantly not work at all, look how big your car engine is and compare it to your motorcycle engine, plus you would have to make your motorcycle into a shaft driven drive train, thats defiantly not possible. sorry to sound so harsh.
