- Q: if a galaxy and a separate star are at the exact same distance from earth, would the light from the galaxy reach earth before the separate stars light? if so, is it because its brighter and bigger? does brighter and bigger light sources light travel faster then a less brighter and less big light source?
- Not that I know of. The only thing that can bend light is a black hole, but other than that I don't think size will affect it.

- Q: is nightshading your tail lights illegal in mn?
- It is legal! Don't let anyone tell you otherwise.. just don't go too dark. They just need to be able to see light coming through. I have my tail lights night shaded and never have any problems.
- Q: ok heres the details. i have a 1985 chevy caprice 305 5.0 v8 recently my brake lights stop turning on. now when i turn on my light the rear lights come on. i have 3 lights on one side and 3 on the other. so my tail lights look like this [ ] [ ] [ ] LP [ ] [ ] [ ] .....LP stands for license plate. now when i turn on my turning signal only certain lights come on ( the x will represent the lights that are off)[ ] [x] [ ] LP [ ] [x] [x] ...the left turning signal one light is out and the right turn signal two lights are out. i just got done replacing the brake light switch so thats not the problem. any suggestion please reply
- The Light Bulbs have two filaments in them. One is low light and the other is high light. So the low would be your taillight and when you use the turn or brake, the high light filament will light up unless it has broken or burnt out. It is normal to only have two lights on each side as the Turn/Brake light. So you only need to replace one light bulb. the Left outside.
- Q: what property of light allows shadows to form?
- Light travels in straight lines. When the light hits the object it is stopped, but the light at the edges continue to travel in a straight line so there is a shadow. The shadow is not black because another property of light. It can be reflected. When it hits an object some light is reflected. If the object is not perfectly smooth the light is scattered when it reflects. Light is reflected more from light colored objects than darker objects. So in a well-lit area where there are plenty of surfaces the shadow will be less dark. A further property of light is that it will slightly bend around the corners of sharp objects. The solar wind (which is a fast moving flow of charged particles coming from the sun) excites the particles in the upper atmosphere causing them to glow. The Southern lights can be seen as far north as the South Island of New Zealand and I would imagine in the South of South America.

- Sadly, they do. This is why most people with the condition called Lupus seem to be overcome with weariness when shopping in large stores with those rectangular boxes filled with fluorescent lights. People with that condition are extra sensitive to UV rays.

- There is no time if you're traveling at the speed of light. If you would go to a star 500 light years from here, you will be there directly, 0 seconds. For us on Earth it will be 500 years before you arrive, but you'll be there instantaneously. So it's not possible to switch your lights on. If you're traveling at just under the speed of light, and you turn your lights on, you will see the light traveling at the speed of light before you, while someone who is standing still will see the light crawling forward in front of you, but of course, you'll be going pretty fast and the light will travel at the speed of light for the still observer as well. - Q: does black light paint show up in the dark without a black light?
- Fluorescent or black light paint seems to vibrate or glow because of the way UV light is reflected off it. Under normal light the colours are brilliant, but when seen under a black light, they emit an extra brightness. However, in the dark, they don't glow at all. Phosphorescent paint, also known as glow in the dark paint, absorbs UV light from the surroundings, then emits a greenish glow in the dark, for a short time, until the stored energy is depleted. They're two different things.
