Q: Can solar panels be installed on data centers?
Yes, solar panels can be installed on data centers. In fact, many data centers are increasingly adopting solar energy solutions to reduce their carbon footprint and dependence on non-renewable energy sources. Installing solar panels on data centers helps generate clean and sustainable electricity, thereby promoting environmental sustainability and cost savings in the long run.
Q: I am researching several solar panels to install in my house. I would like to use a 40 watt panel to connect, through a solar battery controller, to a battery or two. I would then like to use the solar panel (40 watts) to charge the battery(ies) for emergency use. Once charged, and when needed, I would like to use the battery(ies), 2 volt deep cycle, to power several LED lamps. Since I am new to solar power I had several questions...Is a 40 watt panel strong/large enough to charge a 2 volt deep cycle battery or two?How long would it take to charge one of these batteries? What would be the expected cost to purchase necessary supplies? (With the solar panel, battery controller, and MC4 cabling I've found I have an expected cost of roughly $00.00 with batteries)Would this be difficult for someone with little experience in this field?
Whats the size of battery ? The time needed for your 40Watts panel to fully charge a battery depends on the size of battery. Usually battery size is mentioned in Amp-Hours (AH).
Q: I don't have a regulator connected as they are a little expensive for a pensioner, If I join the panels into line to the battery bank from the roof should that be OK.?
Two things on a regulator: a) It will optimize the charge to the batteries - and thereby distribute the most possible power to your active circuits during the day. b) It will prevent the power from the panels from boiling (no kidding) the batteries - no small thing as they are the second largest investment you have after the panels themselves. This is much more critical if you have sealed or Zero-Maintenance batteries. I strongly suggest that you get a regulator as it will significantly lengthen battery life. Follow the directions on the regulator for optimum input voltage and it will let you know whether all the panels should be in series, parallel or series/parallel. But cutting to the chase, you can certainly gang up panels as needed.
Q: Can solar panels be installed on billboards?
Yes, solar panels can be installed on billboards.
Q: Are there any fire hazards associated with solar panels?
Yes, there are potential fire hazards associated with solar panels. Although solar panels themselves do not typically catch fire, electrical malfunctions or faults in the wiring, inverters, or connectors can lead to overheating and fire. Additionally, if a fire breaks out in the surrounding area, solar panels can hinder firefighting efforts by creating potential electrical hazards and obstructing access to the roof. Therefore, proper installation, regular maintenance, and compliance with fire safety regulations are crucial in mitigating these risks and ensuring the safe operation of solar panel systems.
Q: how big of an solar panel do i need to power/charge my laptop?would one from canadian tire sell the right one?
Most decent laptops can use 50W of power or more....so you'd actually need a large solar panel with good sunlight. I just looked up how big a 50W solar panel is....it's about 64x64 centimeters...which is very big and expensive! So, solar power may not be the best solution to power, or charge a laptop battery. Maybe there are some solar powered chargers that charge the battery very slowly, but probably not.
Q: Here's a little idea I though might help everyone out in Iraq a little: How about if the US mass produces solar panels that are small enough to carry (maybe one foot by three feet) that have a regular power outlet on them to the Iraqis? We could send convoys to the people waiting in line to buy gas and give each person one free solar panel. Why?. A lot of people are buying gas to run generators for air conditioning, not to fuel vehicles. 2. It would help reduce the gas lines if people only needed gas for cars instead of their generators too.3. It would help reduce the fighting over the power grid if people didn't need the grid for their own electrical power. My theory is, once every family in Iraq has enough of these panels that they don't even care about the power grid (during the daytime anyway) it would be much easier to fix the power grid. Maybe these solar panels could even connect to and add to the power grid.
I will answer your question with a question. Why does everyone try so hard to point out why they think (I did say think and they are normally wrong) something will not work. I agree with your idea but you are wanting to put the help or money in the wrong place. If we would just take care of our own here at home. We would not need their oil so they would have more for their own use. This would aswell stop our money from leaving our country and they would NOT beable to use our money to build bombs to kill us with. So just by taking care of ourselfs we would be helping Iraq and our own country. We would not need their oil and they would get what they want. Us out of their country. However, That will not help bush and his OIL millionaire friends so it will never happen.
Q: Can solar panels be installed on train stations?
Yes, solar panels can be installed on train stations. In fact, many train stations around the world are adopting solar energy systems to power their operations and reduce their carbon footprint. Solar panels are installed on the roofs or canopies of train stations to harness sunlight and generate electricity, which can be used for lighting, heating, cooling, and other station facilities. This renewable energy source makes train stations more sustainable and helps in the transition towards a greener transportation system.
Q: So I'm trying to figure out what to ask for my birthday because its one of the few times I can get stuff for no reason, like stuff I don't normally go to the store to buy. (i dont go to the store to get much at all anyway).Anyway, I'm interested in solar panels and led and electronics and i was wondering if there is anything not over expensive that would be cool. Some things I'm interested in:solar, wind, water energyGadgets (multitools, swiss army knives)Vibram fivefingersdrawingmaking stuff (duct tape wallets, stuff out of altoids containers)basically technology and outdoors-gear stuffoh and im 6 turnin 7 male.
solar panel is expensive, but small solar panel is not expensive, for example, 5w solar panel, solar light also not expensive led light also not expensive. i am not sure about other stuff that you said
Q: Can solar panels be installed on a theater or entertainment venue?
Yes, solar panels can be installed on a theater or entertainment venue. In fact, many theaters and entertainment venues have started adopting solar energy solutions to reduce their carbon footprint and save on energy costs. The large roof spaces found on these buildings often provide ample space for solar panel installations, allowing them to generate clean electricity and contribute to a greener and more sustainable future.
