- Q: The first panel is located in New England, the second is placed in the Sahara desert, the third is on the Earth side of the moon, and the last is on the far side of the moon. Which panel would absorb the most sunlight over a year's time and why ? All the panels are place in optimal places where they would get the most light available.
- Best to worst: far side of the moon, near side of the moon (same as far side, except for lunar eclipses), Sahara desert (not at 0 latitude, and occasional bad weather), New England (less favorable latitude, and LOTS of bad weather).
- Q: Can solar panels be used for powering a telecommunications tower?
- Yes, solar panels can be used for powering a telecommunications tower. Solar panels convert sunlight into electricity, which can then be used to power various devices, including telecommunications equipment. This renewable energy option is sustainable and environmentally friendly, making it an increasingly popular choice for powering remote or off-grid telecom towers.
- Q: what is needed beside the panels and do you need an electrician to hook it up
- most times yes.
- Q: I want to get solar panels but not spend 20,000!! I found out that you can get a panel to run only your AC unit, I also found something that will run my pool pump! Anyone own either of these? How did you do? Where did you go? How much was it, and was it hard to install?
- Your problem will be the days that are too cloudy, rainy, (snowy won't apply since you will need A/C during summertimes) and the night hours when there is no sunlight. A battery might be okay for a while but if you have to have a good one. Is there is a battery that can run an air conditioner for long without crapping out! I don't think you will ever recoup your investment.
- Q: I've been figuring ways to keep water thawed out this winter, and this bucket seems to be the easiest thing. What kind of set up (solar panel) would I need to feed this 260 watt heated bucket?
- Unfortunately solar panels are low output, generally only 2 volt and very low amperage,so you would need to build a multi panel array with a DC-AC converter all together costing several hundred dollars which would only work during sunlight.Just roughly figuring, about $800. Plan2-Solar charger, battery bank, and DC-AC inverter so it would work 24hrs a day, also several hundred $$. Solar power does just not seem feasible(to me)in this application.By far the cheapest set up here would be an extension cord fromhouse to the bucket.260 watts per hr is a fairly lightweight draw, even not figuring the thermostat's cycling it on and off as needed.Electricity is sold in kilowatt hours(000W/hr).This bucket would use(not allowing for thermostats control lowering it)appx 6000watts or 6KW per day.Depending on your electrical cost per Kwh it would cost very little to run.(In my location appx 50cents a day) or appx the same amount as my computer(325watts total)) Note that that would be a maximum rate, and would actually be less due to thermostat cycling off and on as needed.
- Q: Do solar panels require a battery?
- No, solar panels do not require a battery.
- Q: Can solar panels be used to power a train?
- Yes, solar panels can be used to power a train. Solar panels generate electricity by converting sunlight into energy, which can be used to power various systems, including trains. However, the feasibility and efficiency of using solar panels to power a train will depend on several factors such as the size of the train, the available surface area for solar panel installation, the train's energy requirements, and the geographical location's solar potential.
- Q: Can solar panels be installed on a convention center or event venue?
- Yes, solar panels can be installed on a convention center or event venue. In fact, many convention centers and event venues are embracing renewable energy solutions, including solar power, to reduce their carbon footprint and lower electricity costs. Installing solar panels can provide a reliable and sustainable source of energy, making it an ideal choice for these large-scale facilities.
- Q: Can solar panels be installed on greenhouses?
- Yes, solar panels can be installed on greenhouses. In fact, it is a popular practice as it allows for the generation of renewable energy while utilizing the available space on the greenhouse roof. The solar panels can help offset the energy needs of the greenhouse and contribute to a more sustainable and environmentally-friendly operation.
- Q: How much space is required to install solar panels?
- The amount of space required to install solar panels varies depending on several factors, including the size and capacity of the panels, the energy needs of the property, and the available sunlight. On average, a typical residential solar panel system requires about 100-400 square feet of roof space per kilowatt of installed capacity. However, ground-mounted systems can also be installed if there is enough space available on the property. It is recommended to consult with a solar installer to assess the specific space requirements for a particular installation.
