Q:Can I use a regulator from a car to regulate the voltage from a solar panel to a battery?
solar panels will naturally produce a certain DC voltage which is what your battery needs - the current will vary based on the sun light. You need probably 4V to have some over voltage. So based on your specs look at having at least 4 V but not too much over that (tells you how many panels you need in series) I would have blocking diodes (probably the solar cell has them built in) to insure the battery does not discharge thru the panel.
Q:I would like to know if I had a mobile kitchen could I power it from solar panels mounted atop the vehicle (truck).(to power electric kitchen equipment, i.e. stove, deep fryer.), instead of propane…could I possibly connect the solar panels to a battery to save my generated electricity? If solar panels would not be enough power could a small windmill suffice…?
The best way to find out is to determine the wattage of each piece of equipment you want to use and how many hours you want to use those pieces of equipment. Finally, calculate the total number of Watt-Hours you need at minimum. Then you need to research solar panels or mobile wind mills (they need to be pretty huge to get a decent amount of energy I think, so solar power is probably the way to go). You will need to figure out the efficiency of the solar panels, the size of the array, how you will turn it or if you will turn it at all (to face the sun to get the maximum energy input, or maybe to use mirrors so you don't have to turn it. Once you find a good configuration for your mobile kitchen, you need to calculate if the Watt-Hours you will generate on an average day (with average weather) is enough to power the equipment whose energy requirements you previously calculated. Then you have to keep in mind that some days will have no sun, and you may not be working on some days, but you can still capture sunlight. For each case, a large battery array will be required. If you had a guage on that array, you could also hook it up to the a small generator in case you need immediate power. It's an eco-friendly process, but the initial cost is high and it requires a lot of research and planning. This is why most people do not do it--not because they don't want free energy from the sun, but because it's not easy to start collecting that energy in an efficient way. Sorry I couldn't give you more specific numbers, but a solar panel sales agency should be able to estimate whether or not you could do it (they'd probably set it all up for you too). ^_^
Q:I am doing a school project and we need to find the cost of solar panels for our school. The problem is i don't know what size the system needs to be. Is it 000 watts or 000000 watts? Also can you find the cost of the system? Thanks
Without them providing the amount of energy your school uses then it's impossible to know how many panels you would need. Just phrase it in the form of how much space or how many panels would be needed to create (X) amount of power. Ask the amount the school uses then go from there. Let's put it this way, with today's solar technology you would probably have to cover most of the roof of the school with solar panels and it still wouldn't be enough to run the school entirely. Never mind the cost of out-fitting a building of that size, it would take far to many years to pay off and would probably never offset the cost of electricity they are paying now considering maintenance, upkeep and replacement costs associated with these systems. If it was that easy and cost effective, they would have already done it. Make sure you squeeze that into your report somewhere. Find out how much electricity costs in your area, its on any electric bill, it should show the cost per Kw/h somewhere (If separated by peak time and non-peak time, your school would be peak time). After you get that and how much the school uses, do the math and include a graph comparison showing the cost of both. You should be able to find the costs of solar panels online somewhere. Do a side by side comparison from start up cost, upkeep and all versus using the current source. Good luck on your report.
Q:Can solar panels be used to power a school?
Yes, solar panels can definitely be used to power a school. Solar panels are a sustainable and renewable source of energy that can generate electricity by harnessing the sun's energy. By installing solar panels on the roofs or grounds of a school, it is possible to generate enough electricity to power various electrical systems within the school, including lighting, heating, cooling, and other appliances. This can not only help reduce the school's reliance on non-renewable energy sources but also lead to significant cost savings in the long run.
Q:i wanted to buy solar panels but this guy told me one will just power one light bulb what i want to know is how much thay cost and is it true tat if more power leaves your house than goes in the power company has to send u a cheek
If you want to get money from the power company you will have to basically put in $0k to $20k worth of solar panels. Currently most solar panels that are available to home owners are not all that efficient. I currently have 3 that are 2 foot x 0 foot on my roof that follow the sun and they only power my water heater. Also some states will give you a tax rebate for installing solar power banks on your roof, mainly in the southwest.
Q:Can solar panels be used for charging electric scooters?
Yes, solar panels can be used for charging electric scooters. By connecting the electric scooter to a solar panel system, the sunlight energy is converted into electricity, which charges the scooter's battery. This eco-friendly and sustainable method of charging can reduce reliance on grid electricity and promote renewable energy usage.
Q:what size would the panel be/ I live in the caribbean so plenty of sun!
What does the advertisement have to do with your question? Yes; BUT, depending on the pump, you may need several panels and possibly an inverter if it is an AC pump. You will ALSO need at least battery in the circuit to provide a load to the panel.
Q:Solar panels would change the world if they were widely available to us especially cheap, it will be worth it in the long end. Money would be saved like housands a year per person on utility costs.
Down the drain. That money is gone. Just more wasted money the government writes off and then tries to raise taxes to pay for.
Q:Can solar panels be installed on a church or religious building?
Yes, solar panels can be installed on a church or religious building. In fact, many religious organizations have embraced renewable energy and installed solar panels to reduce their carbon footprint and lower their energy costs.
Q:Can solar panels be installed on a metal roof?
Yes, solar panels can be installed on a metal roof. In fact, metal roofs are often considered ideal for solar panel installations due to their durability, longevity, and compatibility with the mounting systems. Metal roofs provide a stable and secure foundation for solar panels, ensuring optimal performance and longevity of the system.
