Q: What is the best ground cover for attracting butterflies and moths?
One of the best ground covers for attracting butterflies and moths is the butterfly weed (Asclepias tuberosa). Its vibrant orange flowers are a magnet for these pollinators, providing them with nectar and serving as a host plant for their caterpillars. Additionally, other options such as clover, yarrow, and thyme can also attract butterflies and moths and create a diverse and inviting habitat for them.
Q: I accidently used a plastic tray for cookies and put it in the oven. When I thought the cookies were ready-I was right, but the plastic metled and the cookies were MUSH. How do I get rid of the plastic and cookie mush? PLEASE HELP ME!
Depending on the type of plastic that's involved, you can begin to clean your oven while it's still warm and the plastic is still pliable. Sometimes, though, the plastic is so runny that it's near impossible to effectively clean it up. And other times, it's best to let the plastic cool down until it's hard again. . Remove the racks let cool and then use a plastic spatula or flat scraper to carefully remove as much of the plastic that is stuck to the bottom of your oven. If that doesn't work, then you'll need to turn your oven on and set it at a low temp... Wait a few minutes and allow the heat to soften the plastic up some...the plastic should scrape off easily. Wipe up any residue with a soft damp cloth..... You might have to replace the oven racks and allow the low heat to soften up the melted plastic...then, remove the racks and pull the plastic off with your fingers. Wipe any remaining plastic off with a damp cloth. If there's still some plastic residue on the racks, moisten a SOS soap pad or wire brush/steel wool.....and run it up and down the rungs. If that still doesn't do the trick...you can carefully use a razor blade... Good luck........
Q: Do nursery trays come with pre-drilled holes for easy transplanting?
Yes, nursery trays often come with pre-drilled holes to facilitate easy transplanting. These holes allow for proper drainage and make it easier to remove the plants from the tray when it's time to transplant them.
Q: How do you divide and propagate ground cover plants?
To divide and propagate ground cover plants, you can start by digging up the mature plants and gently separating them into smaller clumps. Make sure each clump has enough roots and foliage to sustain growth. Replant these smaller clumps in well-prepared soil, ensuring they are spaced adequately apart. Provide regular watering and maintenance to promote healthy growth and establishment.
Q: Can nursery trays be reused?
Yes, nursery trays can be reused multiple times as long as they are properly cleaned and disinfected between uses to prevent the spread of diseases or pests.
Q: Can nursery trays be used for growing carnivorous plant collections?
Yes, nursery trays can be used for growing carnivorous plant collections. These trays provide an ideal environment for these plants as they typically have good drainage and allow for easy monitoring of soil moisture levels. Additionally, nursery trays are often shallow, which is suitable for carnivorous plants that prefer to have their roots close to the surface.
Q: I have something made up of plastic and i would like to paint it (I don't know the type of plastic but it's the kind that plastic vases and other fake glass stuff are made of) but I'm not sure what paint works with it. I've heard about vinyl dye/paint but I've only seen it in large amounts and I want to paint something fairly small. I also want something that wont flake off easily (ex. acrylic paint) and I'm not scuffing up the plastic with sandpaper.Does glass paint work? (This is my main question)
as the item is plastic, i would suggest that you buy paint made for plastic, rather than use your wall paint which may not adhere. krylon fusion for plastic is a possible one and comes in an easy to use spray can. but colors are pretty limited so you may not get an exact match to your light brown wall. how to paint: 1. clean the surface real good with a mild detergent, rinse well and dry. make sure that it is completely dry. 2. spray on a thin coat, covering it evenly. 3. let it dry thoroughly and then apply again. applying multiple thin coats of the krylon paint will prevent runs and drips. Have fun!
Q: He licks plastic bags from the supermarket, department stores, etc. He licks the plastic wrap that a four pack of tissues is in, the plastic wrap that toilet paper is in, all forms of plastic. what could he be doing it for and is there a danger?
I read somewhere, and for the life of me can't find it now, but there is something in plastic bags that attracts cats. The danger is that plastic can not be digested, so it can cause blockage, among other health issues. If I can find the article, I will add it to this reply later. Hope this helps,
Q: Do nursery trays come with a lid?
Yes, nursery trays typically come with a lid.
Q: What are some ground cover options for woodland areas?
