- Q: Can solar panels be installed on sports stadiums or arenas?
- Yes, solar panels can be installed on sports stadiums or arenas. Many stadiums and arenas around the world have already installed solar panels to generate clean energy and reduce their carbon footprint. These panels are typically placed on the rooftops or parking lots surrounding the facility, taking advantage of the ample space available. Additionally, some stadiums have even incorporated solar panels into their architectural design, creating visually appealing and functional structures.
- Q: was looking at a few different sites, here is one of them
- Building your own panels can be an interesting experiment, but if you are looking for solar panels to provide significant, consistent output, you should buy factory made ones. I get lots of calls from people who built their own panels and get a fraction of the advertised output from them. Plus, factory built panels will last 40 - 50 years, with a 25 year warranty, how sure are you that you can build something that can withstand the outdoors for that long? The price of panels has dropped a lot this year, plus with rebates and tax credits, it's getting more affordable.
- Q: I am completely ignorant on this subject. I was just wondering out of curiosity of how many solar panels and equipment that it would take to run a central ac for a 2500 sq ft home and a pump for a medium sized pool. I'm talking running ac for like 8 hours a day to keep around 65-70 degrees and running the pump 24/7. Just looking for a general ballpark answer.
- Solar panels are not going to be able to run a pool pump 24/7. They will only produce their rated electricity for 4 to 8 hours a day. For the balance you will need a grid connection or a battery backup. Running the AC would require different power levels depending upon humidity, outside temperature levels, solar gain for the house, and insulation levels. An underground house in Maine will be much easier to AC than a Glass house in Arizona. First find the power requirements. If you had the existing equipment they will have a label with the power requirements or the minimum breaker required if nothing else. For example the pool pump may require a 0 amp 240 breaker while the AC may require a 30 amp 240 breaker. That would be 2400 watts for the pump and (30 x 240) 7200 watts for the AC or a total of 9.6kW each hour of operation. (max) You will next need to find the rated capacity of the solar panels. If each panel were rated at 300 watts then you would need 32 panels for the daytime use and perhaps more to fill in a battery backup. All the numbers are very rough estimates.
- Q: Can solar panels be leased or financed?
- Yes, solar panels can be leased or financed. Many companies offer leasing or financing options for solar panel installation, allowing homeowners and businesses to enjoy the benefits of solar power without the upfront cost. Leasing or financing arrangements typically involve monthly payments over a set period of time, making solar energy more accessible and affordable for a wider range of people.
- Q: how much electricity will produce in Kwh by a 000 W solar panel in a sunny tropical area per day (good sunlight at least 0 hour a day)
- 0 kWh
- Q: Exactly How much power will this kit produce? for example. Will it only be able to power the 2 light throughout an entire day or would it be able to power a couple TV's with a couple lights. Or a Refrigerator? washer dryer? I'm just wondering exactly what it will be able to do and if it's worth paying $200 for if it'll only power two lights. Don't get me wrong, That's great and will make a difference but i'm looking for something that will make a little bit of a bigger difference. Would the 80 watt monocrystalline solar panel be much better? if so, what would it be able to power? double?
- Yes, 80 watts will be nearly twice as useful as 45 watts - but 80 is still a small number. Solar panel systems need an inverter and there's a slight energy loss at the inverter. And, if you want to use the day's energy at night, you'll need a battery or two. And every time you move energy into or out of a battery, you lose a little of the energy. All this is to say that you need to sum up the wattage of your appliances and add a fudge factor to accommodate for the losses. I looked at the kit and was moderately impressed. $200/45=$4.44/watt; that's a reasonable price but the links I left below talk of prices as low as $2.58/watt. Also the Harbor Freight kit doesn't contain an 'inverter' which you would have to buy. Also the wattage advertised for any solar panel assumes the thing is clean and pointed right at the sun on a clear day.
- Q: What is the average annual energy output of solar panels that can be installed on the home?
- Average Solar Panel Output
- Q: I'm curious, for those who have had solar panels installed on the rooves of their houses:How much did you pay? How much energy do the panels produce? Did it dramatically cut down on your electricity bill? Was it worth it? Thanks!
- No, but if you have the money, go for it. In Germany, people get a government rebate (much like the Prius rebate our own government offered) and so you see solar panels everywhere. If the Obama administration pushes for a rebate for solar panels, you will see them here in the state. It's the initial cost that puts off most potential solar panel customers. Upkeep isn't too expensive, and they ultimatley pay for themselves. (after about a decade)
- Q: Can solar panels be installed on oil or gas facilities?
- Yes, solar panels can be installed on oil or gas facilities. This is known as hybrid energy systems, where solar panels are integrated with traditional fossil fuel facilities to generate electricity. This combination allows for the diversification of energy sources, reducing reliance on traditional fuels and minimizing carbon emissions. Additionally, solar panels can help offset the energy consumption of oil or gas facilities, making them more sustainable and environmentally friendly.
- Q: How do solar panels affect the local economy?
- Solar panels can have a positive impact on the local economy by creating jobs in the installation, manufacturing, and maintenance sectors. Additionally, they can reduce energy costs for both businesses and residents, allowing them to allocate funds for other investments. Furthermore, the use of solar power can attract businesses to the area, stimulating economic growth and development.
