Q:I live in a house. In the basement there is a wash basin and near the knobs to turn on and off the water there is thin plastic tube coming from the water pipe and when we use the wash basin some water also comes into the wash basin through that tube. What is the purpose of this plastic tube? thanks: You apparently have not live usd in this house for too long a time, at least not long enough to have seen this wash basin installed. I would surmise that the tube was most likely used to fill some container that had a fairly small neck opening, like a water bottle. It does seem odd that the tube and the fixture would both be active at the same time without a shut off on the tube. ?? Strange things, but I'm sure whoever had it put there had a good reason.

Q:Every time I open the lid to my washing machine it smells like mildew. It seems like the smell it getting stronger. shoiuld I call the repair service or is there something I can use to clean it myself?: I used to work for whirlpool and here is the answer we always gave. Fill your washer with HOT water, when the machine stops filling it will be below the lip in your washer. (the lip being BELOW the rounded plastic at the top of the wash basin) you need to dump hot water into your wash machine until it is over the lip but is still below the hard rounded plastic. then dump ONE cup of bleach into the washer and set your washer for the longest wash cycle possible and let it wash for about 5 to 10 minutes. after it has washed for 5 to 10 minutes push the selector knob (the knob you use to choose your wash cycle) in to stop the cycle and let your washer sit for a about 45 minutes and then pull your selector knob out to let you washer was again for another 5-10 minutes. you will begin to see black stuff and bits of hair and lint floating in the water... this is a VERY good thing! After it has washed for 5-10 minutes push the knob back in to stop the cycle and let your washer sit for a few hours... preferably over night. In the morning pull the knob out and let the washer complete the remainder of the cycle and it will smell no more!!! I hope this helps good luck!

Q:My kitchen big I want to install a washbasin in the kitchen with a vegetable bowl to install a piece okay?: In general, wash basins do not put in the kitchen, and can not be together with the vegetables pot! Not hygienic!

Q:Cold water is entering my washing machine at a trickle, I've checked both the hot and cold water valves and connecting tubes. They are both relatively new and the water pressure is strong for both. I checked for obstructions in the cold water tube and it is clear. I checked the small mesh screen located within the intake connection on the back of the washing machine and it is clean. So there is no lack of water pressure and there is no obstruction to cold water entering the machine. I can only assume that the obstruction must be internal. Before I remove the back panel, are there any recommendations?: Take off your panel and use your camera to photograph the internal parts. Then go to the repair store that services your brand of washing machine...tell them everything you've checked, and what was the result and then ask them if they have a clue what might be wrong? Then pull out the camera and show it to them, and have them point to the possible bad part. Then order one. You can switch parts yourself, just unplug the appliance, have rags and a small pail handy for water spillage.... good luck.

Q:I am looking for a small metal wash basin to use for photography, you put babies/toddlers in then with soaps and ducks around. but I cant seem to find them anywhere. I am located In ONTARIO CANADA: You should be able to find a galvanized metal tub at hardware stores, try Home Hardware, and enamel wash basins are still sold at some camping supply places and in Chinese stores, the kind that sell bamboo mats and baskets.
