Q: Can solar panels be installed in a desert environment?
Yes, solar panels can be installed in a desert environment. In fact, deserts are often considered ideal locations for solar panel installations due to their high levels of sunlight and low cloud cover. The dry climate and lack of shading make it easier for solar panels to generate and harness solar energy efficiently.
Q: I think that solar panels are the future and i think that the conventional way of generating electricity is going to be replaced by solar panels. I would like to be part of this industry as an entrepreneur but i do not know how to since i do not have a technical background. I would like to sell solar panels to consumers and to business. Should I start a manufacturing company that manufactures solar panels? Should I buy solar panels from manufactures and sell them to consumers? What should I do?
actually, i think of it rather is an extremely lifelike purpose for recuperating air high quality and suplying skill. you will not go with to apply it as a highway floor, as deposits from tire treads might degrade its productiveness, yet one among those equipment could actually be built alongside roadways and rail structures. Panels would not could be as extensive as a roadway, as you have practically countless linear area. besides the undeniable fact that, i don't think of it will make a distinction in worldwide climate replace. the time-honored utilising tension for worldwide warming isn't guy-made polution, yet organic phenomena which contain volcanic eruptions. human beings in all probability have some effect, yet its slightly like the entire tea-cup-in-the-swimming-pool difficulty. there is not something that could be executed approximately worldwide warming. keep in mind that the earth's climate is in a relentless cycle from chilly to warm, and back to chilly. i'm confident you have heard of ice a protracted time.
Q: How do solar panel power systems work?
There are two kinds of solar panel power systems, one is on-grid solar power system, the other is off-grid solar power system. The on-grid solar power system: the solar panel convert sunlight into DC electric, and the DC electric is converted into AC electric by inverter, one part supply for the household load, the other supply to power grid. The off-grid solar power system: the solar panel convert sunlight into DC electric, and charge for the battery or supply for the DC load by controller, if have AC load, it need a inverter to convert DC into DC.
Q: Are there any free classes to learn about solar energy and building a solar panel
You do'nt want to build a solar panel. The heart of a solar system is the Converter. From that you know that you will have 20 VAC output, but you need to know what kind of input you need prior to building your system. That way you can buy solar panels at that voltage or hook them up in series to get the voltage you need to be converted. You'll then need to calculate the power (watts) you use from day to day, that way your solar system can provide you with what you need. Problem is, NOW, you have a choice to make. If you want to just cut down on your reliance of grid power, there are companies that will do all this for you, and hook you up to the grid so that by day you will be using nothing but solar power, but at night you will be running off the grid. These companies generally make it harder on you to buy the system outright by not providing you maintenance or repair services.....so that could be an issue, which is how they keep you 'leasing' the equipment from them. OR You can go completely off the grid in which case you will have to buy back up batteries and wire them in so that they are charging during the day so that you will be running off of battery power by night.
Q: I want to install a solar panel system and our power grid can't work in reverse(so it get its electricity from us). My question is how do you prevent electricity from our panel to go to the grid without disconnecting the grid? How can we also use the grid and the panel at the same time when the panel are not creating enough power?PS dont say ask an electrician
If you are grid-tied, then a standard solar electric system will always feed back into the grid if you are not utilizing more power in your home than is being generated by the solar panels and inverter system. It is possible that a grid isolation device designed to prevent direct back feeding is available, but haven't heard of one in common use. New laws in most areas of the US are now mandating that utilities allow grid-tied alternative energy systems. Double-check you local laws. Sometimes you can't take the utilities word for truth--most will automatically say 'no' and will only relent when you show up with the law in hand. Unfortunately, some utilities have figured out another way to shut down alternative energy pioneers--they demand multimillion dollar insurance policies covering damage that their equipment could sustain from your little PV system. Technically, they are still in compliance with the law, they just make it impossible for a homeowner to meet their requirements. If you are getting the runaround, go to your state representative for help. It's amazing how contrite those utility people can be when a state senator (or even US Senator) has just sent a letter asking them why they are stonewalling a law-abiding and well-meaning citizen. Good luck, and don't give up!
Q: I really would like to have my own solar panel, but i don't know how. Most of the panels i have looked at are for car batteries but i'm not sure how this would be able to be transfered into electricity. I'm looking to power things like lamps, a stereo and various chargers for phones and ipods. Please explain to me how i could adapt a solar panel to my uses. Thank you.
Sounds okorder .. I've seen the particular device listed there. While the lamp is mediocre for an LED light source, the panel is excellent - real polysilicon wafers, in an aluminum frame. Same construction as the kind of panels in commercial installations.
Q: I've been figuring ways to keep water thawed out this winter, and this bucket seems to be the easiest thing. What kind of set up (solar panel) would I need to feed this 260 watt heated bucket?
Unfortunately solar panels are low output, generally only 2 volt and very low amperage,so you would need to build a multi panel array with a DC-AC converter all together costing several hundred dollars which would only work during sunlight.Just roughly figuring, about $800. Plan2-Solar charger, battery bank, and DC-AC inverter so it would work 24hrs a day, also several hundred $$. Solar power does just not seem feasible(to me)in this application.By far the cheapest set up here would be an extension cord fromhouse to the bucket.260 watts per hr is a fairly lightweight draw, even not figuring the thermostat's cycling it on and off as needed.Electricity is sold in kilowatt hours(000W/hr).This bucket would use(not allowing for thermostats control lowering it)appx 6000watts or 6KW per day.Depending on your electrical cost per Kwh it would cost very little to run.(In my location appx 50cents a day) or appx the same amount as my computer(325watts total)) Note that that would be a maximum rate, and would actually be less due to thermostat cycling off and on as needed.
Q: Can we cover up solar panels on our house with regular siding?
Strange question....most people now days are wanting to get solar panels and you are wanting to COVER them up. Are they not working? Have then removed before you put any siding in that area.
Q: How much electricity can a solar panel generate?
The amount of electricity a solar panel can generate depends on various factors such as the size and efficiency of the panel, the amount of sunlight it receives, and the location. On average, a standard solar panel can produce anywhere from 250 to 400 watts of electricity per hour.
Q: Can anyone give me a simple but informative explanation on how solar panels produce electricity/power? Thank you!
The sun produces energy. When that sunlight hits most surfaces, it causes that surface to heat up. When the sunlight hits some other surfaces, instead of heat, the result reaction is electricity charges. Some of those surfaces are certain types of silicon, which is what solar panels are made of. The electricity produced is DC electricity. It is then funneled to charge a battery, where it can be stored. If need be, it is passed through a inverter, which changes it to the AC power that we use for our appliances.
