- Q: I recently bought a '95 C220, shes my first MB and after a week of driving I have vowed to never buy any other brand of car. I think i've just about figured out all of her idiosyncricies, however this one still confuses me. There is a small 1/4 diameter or so plastic tube comming out of the floor to the left the battery/fuse box in the trunk, about 8 inches long or so. - Most of these folks a correct its a vent tube. The stock battery has a hole on the side to vent gasses out . Most aftermarket batteries do not have a vent or its in the wrong place. Look for a Deka battery they fit perfect and have the vent. (also Car Quest sells the same battery different label) By venting the gas out it helps reduce the corrosion. The OE battery is VARDA, but the DEKA or CARQUEST brand is a better made battery.

- Hello, It would be smarter if you didn't use that kind of cage. The plastic tubes fall apart and it's not very safe or secure for the hamster. A Syrian hamster Shouldn't get stuck, but you never know. I perfer to use aquariums with wire lids. They work amazing. Or else get a plastic storage container (square bucket thing) and drill holes into the sides and roof. (don't put the holes to big or close together; cage may crack or hamster may get out). I'm not fond or the critter trail cages, especially those with plastic tubes. I Hope this Helps!
