Being from Des Moines I would have to say they definitely push towards a new direction after Iowa came out. In subliminal verses they toned some songs while shredded others Its just how they evolved as a band. In sublimial verses the whole idea was that it was progressing into a newer sound. And it told the fans that hey were changing some s hit, but were going to keep our s hit our s hit and with Blister Exits he basically said i wont let you get away without hearing what i had to say , basically an untone for the whole cd and band in a changing form. you gotta look at them not only as music you push play but the art of a human Duality so i hope that answered some questions or confused the s hit out of ya. eighter way thanks for question.

Yes, pure metals form crystals. It is heavy metal! It's just that people made up like 50 new genres of metal. So it falls under nu-metal which falls under heavy metal which falls under metal which falls under rock and roll. You see how silly and complicated this all gets. Some self proclaimed experts would probably say I still didn't write this out correctly. It's music. Good music. It definitely falls under heavy metal. Why do we need to get so specific and nit-picky?? I'm done ranting now lol.

Favorite Heavy Metal Band? UP THE IRONS!!! Been a massive beast of a fan for Iron Maiden since 1985. I was ten when I first heard the dulcet tones of Powerslave, and been hooked ever since. They, and Metallica, have been teh 2 faves ever since. And for 20 years I would have answered Thrash * Rrew up in the middle of the Bay Area Thrash scene* followed real close by Power Metal. But in the last 3 years or so, I have really gotten into Folk and Symphonic Metal, and varients thereof, be it Death, Power or Black or whatever. And good Stoner Metal like the Sword or Spiritual Beggars or High on Fire always works too. But I would say Symphonic(Anything) Metal, overall has taken control of my remote!
