FAQ

Yes, plastic sheets are generally resistant to warping due to temperature fluctuations.
Plastic sheets and glass have different properties and uses, making them suitable for various applications. While glass is more rigid, transparent, and offers better optical clarity, plastic sheets are lighter, more flexible, and have greater impact resistance. Additionally, plastic sheets are easier to shape and less expensive than glass. The choice between plastic sheets and glass depends on specific requirements such as durability, transparency, weight, and cost.
I have already asked a couple questions about this, and just need to know 2 more things. I know plastic wrap will work, but this is plastic sheet, and is much better, stronger and will still let light in correct? And for a greenhouse, does there need to be a few holes in the walls and roof to let air through, or should it be basically sealed completely? Thanks for any help!
Plastic sheets does really works for greenhouse and helps to grow plants. This is the cheap and unique way to build greenhouse with help of plastic wrap.
i am working on an art project and I am wondering if there is a crafty type way for me to transfer the typed text from one sheet of paper to another (like to lift the ink off the paper somehow). I am not concerned about the words being recognizable or readable, I just like the aesthetic of words that don't necessarily mean anything mixed with pictures. thanks!
It's called a photocopier. Photocopy the page onto a sheet of transparent plastic. Then lay the plastic over the new sheet where you want the letters to appear. If you don't want the plastic, the process is trickier. It still can be done. Photocopy the page onto plastic as before. Then lay the photocopied plastic sheet reversed on the photocopying glass. Copy onto a piece of paper. The result will be a sheet of paper with the letters reversed. Since photocopiers use toner that is baked onto the page, you need to take the sheet with reverse lettering and iron (using a hot iron) the reversed lettering onto the page you want it to appear. Since you are reversing a reversal, the result will be correct left-to-right. It might take several tries to get the technique down right, but it is do-able. Whether it is worth it, you'll have to determine.
after buying the motor home i found out that water from the water source in the rv park had been standing under the trailer for a long time. i was planning to move the home so thought this would be resolved but now do not know that i should move or keep this due to what looks like mold on the surface of the black plastic sheeting containing the insulation under the trailer. also, it s there a problem if water gets into the insulation? this is my first experience with a mobile home do not know who to ask. mobile home dealers have not been able to answer my question. please help.
I can't see why mold on the exterior of the plastic sheeting should be a problem unless there's an enormous amount of it, if it's there because the underneath of the home didn't get enough ventilation. It could be cleaned off, and shouldn't recur if the next place you put it is dry. If water has gotten into the insulation above the plastic, that would worry me. Wet insulation doesn't work, and if the insulation is wet, there might be other water damage in other parts of the home which could be serious, since the water in the insulation most likely flowed down from somewhere. Is the plastic in good shape with minimal tears in it? If there are any tears, look at the insulation through them to see if you can see any evidence of it having been wet. Have a good look with a strong light under there, and you might be able to answer your own question. Also, though the dealers might not be of much help, there is probably someone in the neighbourhood who does repairs on mobiles, and it might be worth getting them to give an opinion.
I got the thick 4mil, does it work better with a space between the window and film? My neighbor puts the film right on the window, does that help? I think a still-air space would work better. How much does it really help, 5%?
yes the air gap will help because air is an excellent insulator, however, make the gap very small, because if you make it too large then you can get lots of convection(where the air can circulate inside the gap) which will significantly lessen the insulation qualities. This same idea is used in regular fiberglass insulation, the air gaps are created by very small holes in the insulation, and these small holes also help to keep the convection down.
Produce a one compartment vertical file by bending the long side of an 10-in. by 18-in. sheet of plastic along two lines to form a U-shape. (i)How tall should the file be in order to maximize the volume that the file can hold? (ii) What is the maximum volume?
Bend on lines so that the file is 10 long x Y high x (18 - 2Y) thick Volume = V = 180Y - 20Y^2 dV/dY = 180 - 40Y = 0 when V is maximum. Y = 9/2 For max. volume file is = 10 x 9/2 x 9 Max V = 405 cubic ins.
i'm looking for some clear plastic sheets (similar to laminating) that i can use a dry erase markers on and place over the whiteboard in my classroom - for putting music notes on the staff etc.i don't want to rewrite them over and over. since there is no laminator in my school, i am at a loss for what to use. of course i can by laminating rolls. anything else i can use and where to get it?
Draw them on thicker paper, and then buy contact paper (the sealing people put in cabinets). It is very inexpensive. Also, I have found, if you live by an university, it is fairly cheap to use their laminators.
