So I want to no what people call metal to day...because some people put bands in that are striat up rock band or pop bands..
You're an idiot.
i prefer European metal because i mostly listen to power metal and folk/viking metal and europe has the best bands for those genre, and i hate metalcore and nu metal i just can't like them AND especially RAP METAL, RAP cannot and should not be combined with the HOLY BLOOD of METAL and its epicness LOL oh well, lets see who can make the best convincing argument
Black Sabbath - Paranoid Judas Priest - Sad Wings of Destiny Motorhead - Ace of Spades Diamond Head - Lightning to the Nations AC/DC - Back in Black Venom - Black Metal Iron Maiden - Number of the Beast Mercyful Fate - Melissa Queensryche - Queensryche Metallica - Kill 'Em All Slayer - Show No Mercy Megadeth - Killing is My Business...and Business is Good! Corrosion of Conformity - Animosity Suicidal Tendencies - Join the Army Death - Scream Bloody Gore Possessed - Seven Churches Pantera - Cowboys From Hell I'm sure there are more. I keep getting interrupted and can't think straight right now. Also, need to pay respect to the early Glam Metal days too. Dokken, RATT, Motley Crue etc... and the early 90's alternative metal bands like Helmet and Korn have a place in history like it or not.
NO U.S. METAL PLZ
Anything that is categorized as metal. Just because a certain sub genre isn't to your liking doesn't mean it isn't metal. I'm not keen on metal where the lead singer constantly screams and can't be understood, but I don't go on about how it shouldn't be considered metal.
I know you have Metal genres like Metal/Heavy Metal/Black Metal/Death Metal/ etc... but i want to know what order do all of the metal genre ordered from softest to quot;Darkestquot;E.g #1 Rock#2 Metal ...#7 Black Metal
Metals can only react ionically. That means that a metal will give away some of its electrons to a nonmetal that accepts those electrons. The metal and nonmetal atoms will then be bound together. Nonmetals can react with other nonmetals by forming covalent bonds. That means instead of one element giving away its electrons, the atoms in the product will share the electrons instead.
Listen to these metal songs by Korn and try telling me they are not metal:Korn - ClownKorn - Shoots and LaddersKorn - Ball TongueKorn - *****Korn - Blind
On the Periodic table ofthe elements, the metals are the elements on the left side of the chart. They have 1, 2 or 3 electrons in the outer level - that means that when they combine with other elements, they probably will give away electrons rather than borrow. So, a metal like sodium will combine with a non-metal like chlorine. The sodium will loan an electron to the chlorine and they will then be ions - Na with a positive charge and Cl with a negative charge. Metals are malleable (you can hammer then into thin flat sheets), ductile (you can draw them out into wires) they reflect light and they can conduct electricity. There are lots of materials that we call metal that are combinations of different metallic elements - like the metal 'bronze' being a combination of tin and copper.

Hmm...this is the major problem these days. And it just doesn't end with hair metal, nu metal, and metalcore. Bands like AC/DC, Alice in Chains, Soundgarden, Guns N' Roses, Rage Against the Machine, even Nine Inch Nails on their Broken album, have been labeled metal countless times. Now, with regards to hair metal stuff, some like early Def Leppard, Motley Crue can be considered metal, but would one even dare to call something like Poison, Warrant, Bon Jovi metal? Bands like Guns N' Roses and Van Halen fall into metal a little bit, but for the most part, both bands stay as hard rock bands. Alice in Chains's first album Facelift was more closer to heavy metal. On Dirt, just a few tracks are heavy metal and the rest are hard grunge rock and on the third album, it's pretty much hard rock. Now to the nu metal case. I always considered bands like Evanescence as alternative rock. With nu metal, some bands are more alligned to alternative rock...these include Linkin Park, Papa Roach, P.O.D., and Limp Bizkit. However, some are closer to metal than to rock...Disturbed, Mudvayne, Stone Sour, Slipknot, etc...I normally consider them to be metal while bands like Limp Bizkit and Linkin Park are just rock. And for the record, the majority of all metalcore bands are way too heavy. I almost always consider metalcore (and deathcore) bands metal...Killswitch Engage especially.
