- Q:I took my Expedition to the dealer to check he alignment..... they told me they could not do that because the wheel bearings (all four) needed to be replaced. I took it to two other mechanics.... they said maybe only two needed to be replaced. I didn't ask these other mechanics about the alignment.

- ABEC ratings have nothing to do with speed or anything else to do with skateboards or skates. Actually, the higher ratings could be slower. The ABEC rating is for smaller gaps between the parts so that they do not vibrate in high speed machines. You won't be into the range that the specs relate to until you are over 200 mph. Some of the top makers of skate bearings (Zero Drag, Twin Cam, Bones) have designed their best bearings to have larger gaps in critical areas to roll faster but the gaps mean that they don't even meet the ABEC 1 standard. The lubricant used in a bearing will have more effect on it's speed than anything else. Light oil is fast but you need to add it more often. Grease will last for years but is sluggish if more than a tiny amount is used. Gels are in between. Unless you have extremely different bearings (like oil vs over greased), your wheels will have a much larger effect on your speed than the bearings.
- Q:So i just bought some sector 9 ABEC 7 bearings. Is it ok if i buy the speed cream lubricant, take the bearings appart, and apply the lub without cleaning them? They are Like less then a week old (the bearings).
- First off, they are a downhill bearing, if your street or vert skating i recumbent independent 7's. Second, speed cream is only really necessary when your bearings start to wear down and start to slow and make that horrible noise. if you put it in straight away it won't do much but collect dirt. so just wait a while.

- It is used in the tractors hydraulic system in the front and rear end loaders for lifting things like Hay Bales etc EDIT-If there is no hydraulic oil in the hydraulic system then the hydraulic system won't work because there is no pressure being created to generate power to the auxilliary items.The tractors engine will still run because it doesnt use hydraulic oil.

- They don't want to be responsible for the car if the bearings fail. Consider the cost of repairs to the right of way if they were to fail on a main line. You could pursue a damage / loss waiver clause. It sounds like you want to move a vintage rail car to another site. I envy you, I work with HO scale while you run 1:1 scale.

- depends what kind of gun oil, there are lots of oil that'll leave a residue behind which will just make your bearings collect more dirt and dust, gun oil is know for doing that but you always try it out, in a pinch i've used oil before but it's not always the best for lube. A can of tri-flo at the hardware store will work great and should last a long time if you just use it for your bearings. If you have a lot of gun cleaning supplys maybe you have something called rem oil, it'll work good enough to keep your bearings lubed and doesn't leave a residue behind.

- Most bearings like this are sealed bearings...You probably could not lubricate the bearing if you had the thing in your hand....replace the bearing....Good luck...Have a good day
