Q:thanks for your help
If okorder /... If you're talking about dismantling the actual bearing... Take off the shield with a needle or something, hit bearing multiple times until it breaks. Gather pieces.
Q:a boat sails on a bearing of N15E for 10 km then on a bearing of S85E until it is due east of starting point the distance from the starting point to the nearest km is thena. 10 kmb 38c. 110d. 113e.114
Sketch the situation and you have a triangle ABC, where A is the starting point, B is the turn after 10km, and C is the ending points. From the bearings, angle A is 75° (90° - 15°), angle B is 100° (85° + 15°), and so C must be 5°. Side c (opposite from C) is 10 km. Solve for side b (opposite from B) using the law of sines: b / (sin B) = c / (sin C) b = c * (sin B)/(sin C) = (10 km) * (sin 100°) / (sin 5°) Now, put your calculator in degree mode and see if the answer is closer to 113 or 114.
Q:What does ABEC for skateboard bearings mean?
ABEC stands for Annular Bearing Engineering Council and it is a rating of how good bearings are. Basically the higher the number after ABEC-, the better the bearing is supposed to be. The scale goes ABEC-1, ABEC-3, ABEC-5, ABEC-7 and ABEC-9. Bones Bearings (Swiss, Ceramic) are Skate Rated and are basically better than most of the bearings rated on the ABEC scale.
Q:We took our 1996 ford aerostar van into the mechanic the other day and he said it needs new wheel bearings on the front left tire and something like the axle assembly done, he said the housing was cracked right open on both sides and they need to be replaced and he said all up it would cost $1200, seems like alot of money, I know its not a great explanation but if you no wat parts im talking about, do you think this price is right? Thanks
Seems an average cost. Driveshafts are not cheap and bearings have to be pressed into place. There would be a significant labour charge too.
Q:i was wondering if i could put abec7 bearings in a wave board. has anyone done that? let me know!
ABSOLUTELY! I've been ridin' The Wave for a couple of years now, and I def switched over to better bearings once I was ready. You def want to make sure that you have mastered ridin' the board before you make the switch. I'm pretty sure that Street Surfing is going to start making upgrades available, but until then, go for it. Just be ready for the faster speed. If you haven't checked out their website I'd give it a look, some cool vids/pics there, even some 'how to' vids if you're looking for some tricks to do ( THEWAVE.COM ). Hope that helps you out, the answer to your question is YES! Upgrading the bearings is something that anyone can do to their wave board, I would actually suggest it for more experienced riders. See ya on the Streets!!!
Q:I was cleaning my bearings and the balls and the inner ring came out how do i fix this please help me
I have found that impossible to put back in, trying to do that with skateboard bearings. I would rather recommend replacing the bearings with a new set. Since the balls have broken out of the race way, it will not perform too good. Either grinding unevenly against the walls of the race way, or not spinning at all.
Q:Hi, the question is; A fish swims 2km from point A to point B at a bearing of 30 degrees (measured anticlockwise from due east). It then travels due east to point C for 1km.a) Determine the distance the fish is from its starting point.b) Write vector AB and BC using vector units i and jI drew a diagram, and am completely stumped! thank you in advance! guidance in the right direction is also fine! I just have no idea where to start!
using compass bearings: (2,60°) + (1,90°) = (2.9093, 69.8961°) - - - - - - (2,60°) = (1.7321, 1) - - - - - - (1,90°) = (1, 0) - - - - - - (1.7321, 1) + (1, 0) = (2.7321, 1) - - - - - - so: a) 2.9093 km b) (1.7321, 1) and (1, 0)
Q:2005 Sport Trac, 2WD, automatic trans w/ aprox 80K milesA few months ago there was a grinding sound from the rear of the truck that increased with speed (a whomb, whomb, whomb type sound) and even a clicking when I reversed. I was doing my breaks and noticed there was some play in the wheel when pushing/pulling but also that when I turned the wheel (both wheels up and trans in neutral) there was some side to side play (not sure if that is normal or not). Also when driving the truck slowly wobbles at low speeds and begins to shake at higher speeds. I noticed that this isn't constant and seems to greatly reduce after a left hand turn. One place told me it was the differential but I am not sure and don't want to spend a bunch of money if it's a bearing as I can replace the assembly myself for under $200.
Sounds like outer wheel bearings but it could be the differential bearings as well. The only way to know is replace the wheel bearings and see if the noise stops. I'd check the gear oil level as well since if you were low on oil that would kill the bearings and the differential. If it's low make sure you add the specific kind for your axle.
Q:I skate and im wondering if mixing bearings would make my board faster. I also have mini logo abec 5 and shake junt abec 7. Can they mix to be faster
Only if you took out slow bearings and replaced them with faster ones. If all your bearings run well, mixing them will do nothing.
Q:I need to change/ repack the wheel bearings but i've never done it before but I am mechanically inclined enough to do it. Just need to know if theres any secret steps to follow. Any info would be great!!!
packing bearing easy... you get a palm full and take the bearing big side down and push it in your hand little at a time a round the outer edge gap...til it pushes the grease out the other side..... kind of keep doing it til you see new grease and your done.... when you tap in the rear seal on the hub put a small amount in the hub between the bearing but you dont have to but it dont hurt too... when you tighten the outer nut is tight and then back off to fit pin thru hole your done.. fast way to get seal off is after you remove outer bearing put nut back on and give it a good tug most of the time the seal will pop right out
