Q:Im motorcycle novice rider & like to know what kind of tire I should use on rainy days to avoid skidding. TY
An easily dissolved rock, such as chemically precipitated limestone (CaCO3). Moving water (can be moving slowly) containing a dilute amount of hydrochloric acid (HCl), which will dissolve the rock. As the rock dissolves, it will leave behind huge peaks, deep sinkholes, etc. This can also reference other types of sedimentary rock that can be removed by water, but the classic karst comes from the dissolution of limestone.
Q:I just bought a motorcycle and when I got it home I discovered that the front wheel will turn all the way right and back straight again, but not leftdoes anyone know why this might be? thanks
Maybe it's a flat track or Speedway bike! I would agree that you should check your cables for proper routing if not the other suggestions. They(cables) can limit steering travel if not routed correctly.
Q:Motorcycle tire fitting for Honda cb500 1973?
FYI I've run that tire on an old CB750 and I wasn't impressed with how it held up. I now use Bridgestone BattleAx on my older bikes. If you search you can find H-rated at about the price of your link.
Q:which motorcycle tires should i get?
Front: 110/70-17 and Rear: 130/70-17 (2008 and newer) Front: 100/80-16 and Rear: 130/80-16 (2007 and older.) Dennis Kirk has a low price guaranty.
Q:I‘m 17, about to go into my senior year in high school. I‘ve began to save money for a vehicle and for now I‘m using my brother‘s car to get to the places that I need to go until I can save enough to purchase my own vehicle. For a little while I‘ve considered getting a motorcycle instead of a car. My brother and I talked and if I need to use his car he‘d let me. My reasons for wanting a motorcycle are the insurance is extremely cheap, they‘re good on gas, and I only primarily need something that‘ll get me from place to place. Now my concern is driving in the winter (I live in Upstate New York). I know that there are studded winter tires for motorcycles, but before I invest in this vehicle I‘d like to hear the opinions of other riders. I‘m not completely unfamiliar with motorized bikes, when I was younger I had a 70 cc dirt bike for a few years. I apologize if my ideas seem a bit scattered.
sensible ideas it seems. motorcycles while cheap to run no matter how expensive always let rain fall on you. also in winter are extremely dangerous. despite tyre changes. risk to life etc isn't worth freezing but off and possibility of falling off in bad conditions or even more likely getting smacked by a vehicle. car while more expensive can be a life saver and also be a part of a students social life. few girls want a ride in bad weather on back of a bike let alone winter. protective clothing, helmet etc are a drag too .storage ,donning etc if we can afford boththen we have solution. otherwise odds are a cheap runaround car will be best investment.
Q:I was checking over my motorcycle before going on my ride today and noticed a staple in my rear tire. The tire is still holding air. I am going on a long trip over july 4 and this staple is making me question it. Since the tire is still holding air, I‘m not sure if the staple has punctured the tire, and am wondering if I should pull it out so it doesn‘t get forced in and actually cause a flat. But if i do pull it out and the tire goes flat, I‘m screwed. What should I do? I don‘t know if the dealer can have a tire changed for me by next weekend and I really want to go on that ride.
Leaving it in can only worsen the situation, remove it, it is more than likely only in the tread. Check the tyre pressure, then again the next morning if it hasn't changed you are sorted. Any dealer worth their salt should be able to get their hands on a tyre, unless it is a really obscure size, in 48 hours and replace it in half an hour.
Q:Bike has been sitting outside for two years, the tires have less than 200 miles on them. Are they any good? If so how unsafe would it be?
The rule of the road is that rubber gets replaced every 10 years. After 10 years their safety can not be garunteed. Two years should be fine as long as there is no physical damage to the outside.
