Q:I grow exotic mushrooms and I want to move on to cactus cultivation. I like exotic plants and I'm pretty well inclined with micrology. I'm gonna do a peat and vermiculite substrate to germinate the cactus seed... maybe some ground up palm tree wood that ive been composting in a suspended sterilized peat environment. Should I case the cactii with vermiculite as well, for an optimum flush? When I prepare the vermiculite for mushrooms I simply pour the warm water in the mix and strain out the excess. Should I just do the same for cactus germination? I'm going to drop the ratio of peat vs vermiculite to a 2 to 1 ratio, instead of a 1 to 2 ratio that I do for mushroom incubation. Sorry if I'm confusing you.
Try garden store or nursery.
Q:If I want to repot a houseplant to a bigger container, what kind of soil do I use?
t would really depend upon what type of plant it is. Some house plants need less water, so you should use a sandy potting soil or ones with a lot of vermiculite in it. Succulents and cacti need sandy soils that drain well, for example. If it's a plant that needs a lot of water, you should chose one or create one that has more clay in it. If it's a plant that needs extra feeding, such as a heavy bloomer or a heavy foliage plant, there are potting soils with extra fertilizers in it. Also, different plants need different amounts of certain fertilizers like magnesium or pot ash or nitrogen. Too much of these for your plant can burn it. Too little can cause poor growth. The amounts of magnesium can also change the colors of the blooms as well. And some plants need more or less acidic levels. Azalea's need different amounts of acids than other plants, for example. African Violet's need more acid as well. Potting Soil Plus Fertilizer would probably be the best answer, unless the plant you are transplanting needs low fertilizer, in which case a general purpose soil mix would be best. And that doesn't even take into consideration whether it is an aquatic plant, in which case it would need an aquatic soil mix and need to be covered with pea gravel to prevent fish from uprooting the plant or from contaminating the water and causing an algae bloom.
Q:Do you prefer Vermiculite .or. Vitameatavegamins?
Put your regular brown rice in a blender or food processor and process until the consistency of whole grain flour, which will give you brown rice flour.
Q:should i get a crested gecko or a leopard gecko.explain please!
alot of people use different methods some bury the eggs some dont some people use perlite and a lite defuser and put the defuser over the perlite and the eggs on the defuser and just moisten the perlite everyday. also its key to open the container everyday to cycle the air in the incubator
Q:What can vermiculite do?
The expanded vermiculite is widely used, but its main purpose is still to be used as building material.
Q:i have 80% cow manure and 20% worm castings for soil ...i need help on mixture
Pure vermiculite will work fine.
Q:my friend gave me a fig tree last summer its not very big would it be ok to keep it in a large flower pot as we only have a small garden. what type of soil should i use and how will it fair with the British weather.Any advice please thank you.
Technically rubber tree plants are figs. Ask Thompson Morgan, or Suttons for advice. They are two established British firms who know your area well.
Q:I want to grow magic mushrooms the vermiculite and brown rice way but I don‘t want to order anything can I make magic shrooms from store bought mushroom spore prints? Any help would be appreciate F the haters
Typical store bought spores are of the culinary or medicinal variety. The only way to get your hands on the spores you're looking for would be to find a private grower, or the more dangerous route of picking them from the wild. I would not suggest the latter unless you have exceptional knowledge of Mycology, and the former is illegal in many areas.
Q:What is a good mixure of cement, vermiculite & sand to cast molds?
Neither. Use Vermiculite
Q:i started a square foot garden-its actually a gardening book btw.(for those that dont know what that is) its a 4ft. x 4 ft. raised bed garden that ur supposed to use one third vermiculite, one third peat moss, n one third compost/manure(lols).ok i think my ratio was kinda off n i maaayb used too much manure,i think.anyway what i want to know is this harmful to vegetable plants, should I b concerned?help
Too much manure can kill plants. Do not know how much is too much. If store bought manure it is made to specifications and should be ok. If you made the compost/manure yourself , it is almost impossible to know what chemical combinations your mixture is. You need to ask someone that is more expert than me.
