Q:Can solar panels be installed on residential homes?
Yes, solar panels can be installed on residential homes.
Q:Does San Francisco get enough sunshine to really make solar panels a viable option for creating a self-supporting home? Certainly a wind turbine would be a good source of energy, but what about solar panels? Does S.F. get enough sunshine to justify using solar panels? It's overcast a lot in the Bay Area, are there any solar panels better than others for a climate like this?
I know nothing about the Bay area, I live in KC. However, I believe that solar is the best answer to alternative energy. We should have solar panels everywhere, the suns going to be shining somewhere. I propose we make gigantic panels in the deserts where the sun shines and nobody lives, and hook everybody up to the grid. They can store energy when they get a lot of sun to make up for the dark days. They are expensive to make so we should start building them one by one all over. The sun is not going to stop shining for millions of years. Plus there is no pollution from solar. So, yes put them in the bay and back here in KC too.
Q:Do solar panels work with any type of heat or only sunlight? I have a bunch of little ideas floating around in my head and Id like to get them on paper but only if they really would work. Also does a concentrated amount of heat on one solar panel piece (quot;xor so) produce a higher or equal amount of electricity than a less concentration over a larger area?
solar panel just suit the sunshine.because it has big light intensity . it can make solar panel produce electric charger.
Q:Online stores selling solar photo-voltaic generation kits gives specs indicating the power generation capability of the system. For example, Solar World Grid-Tie Solar Electric System with 245W Panels PV Powered PVP2000 Inverter, .2 to 2.4 kW. This seems to indicate that the system can generate .2 to 2.4 kW. Is that per day? Per month? I'm trying to calculate the return on investment, but can't because I don't know how much power a system such as this will generate in a month.
The $25,520 price amounts to about $8.5 a watt which is high, I would've expected between $2.50 to $5 a watt and those are dated prices so it sound like the vendor is raking the price up. You didn't mention how many months your $75 financing is for but keep in mind that at 3 kw for 8 hours a day for 30 days at 2 cents per kwh, you would generate $86.40 so you will be paying about twice as much for your solar power as you would had you bought the power from the grid. Mind you, for people on a fixed income, there is the security that the cost will not rise ( if properly insured ) so there could be an advantage to paying a premium for your power if you're on a fixed income. I'd say it's a rip off but I also believe solar has a ways to go even with subsidies before it's an economic choice and that's usually not a popular stance with the green washed crowds.
Q:Got a quote for about $K today for solar panels to save me about $00 a month on my electric bill. I was just wondering if anyone had successfully bought and installed their own and how it worked for you?
Hello, okorder /
Q:Are solar panels noisy?
No, solar panels are not noisy. They do not have any moving parts and therefore, do not produce any noise while generating electricity from the sun.
Q:was looking at a few different sites, here is one of them
I had a system installed recently, so I would suggest starting by getting a quote from a licensed contractor. Even if you are planning on doing the installation yourself, a contractor will have a lot of useful info. I got 3 quotes and they were all about the same cost. I was able to get a 2 year usage history from our utility so the contractors were able to suggest a system based on that. They were able to tell me about rebates and tax credits, were the best location would be and the estimated amount of production. They have a nifty gadget that can tell if there will be any shade cast on the roof at any time during the year. I decided to maximize my rebates and got a system that reduced my utility bill by about 50%, although my production has cut it much more than that, my highest electric bill was $35, and that was in Dec. with cloudy short days. I got a $0K rebate and a $2K tax credit. This year the fed. tax credit is 30% of the total installed price. My system cost $26K, I paid $6K out of pocket and I'm saving about $2K per year.
Q:Can solar panels be installed on fences?
Yes, solar panels can be installed on fences. In fact, installing solar panels on fences is becoming increasingly popular as it maximizes space utilization and allows for efficient energy generation in areas with limited roof space. Additionally, fence-mounted solar panels can provide added privacy and security benefits.
Q:Can solar panels be installed on a university campus or educational facility?
Yes, solar panels can be installed on a university campus or educational facility. In fact, many universities and educational institutions have already embraced solar energy as a sustainable and cost-effective solution for their energy needs. Installing solar panels not only reduces the environmental impact of the facility but also provides an opportunity for hands-on learning and research in renewable energy for students and faculty. Additionally, it can help save on energy costs and provide a reliable source of clean energy for the campus.
Q:What are the benefits of using solar panels?
There are several benefits of using solar panels. Firstly, they provide a clean and renewable source of energy, reducing the dependence on fossil fuels and decreasing carbon emissions. Solar panels also help to lower electricity bills by generating free electricity from sunlight. Additionally, they require very little maintenance and have a long lifespan, making them a cost-effective investment. Furthermore, solar panels can increase the value of a property and provide energy independence, especially in remote areas or during power outages. Overall, using solar panels promotes sustainability, saves money, and contributes to a greener environment.
