Q:We are trying to get the carpet in one of our bedrooms in our house replaced, but we are on a tight budget. We went to home depot and they said they would have to charge us around $900 to replace all the carpet padding and install the new carpet. we said that we would leave the same padding (to save money), but the woman told us that it is an ohio state law that carpet companies MUST replace the padding if they are going to replace the carpet too. another company we called said this isn't true. was the lady at home depot just trying to get more money out of us, or is there really a carpet padding law? I cant seem to find anything about it. any help is appreciated.
I have never heard of a law requiring you to replace the padding when installing new carpets. How exactly would that law work if you were buying a carpet that has a built in padding? An installation company may have a policy about it but i could find no laws requiring it. Call your attorney General's consumer department and ask them if there is in fact a law but i doubt it very much.
Q:I think Tide works great for brightening clothes and was wondering is there anything out there that brings out the color in older carpets (my carpets are about 7 years old and they are starting to fade in color).
If your carpet is just dull from the years of wear (dirt accumulation) you might want to have it professionally cleaned. The machines they use are a LOT more powerful at removing set in dirt than any rental or home use machine could be, but if your carpet is faded from sun exposure there's nothing really you can do. When the color is gone, it's gone and you might want to look into replacing the carpet.
Q:Wat material is good for end table carpet?
1. consider the classical mechanism of Arabia, silk (300D), the price is proper. 2. recommend to buy dark coffee color blanket color, dark blue gem 3. recommended blanket size: 1.6mx2.3m. Two kinds of pressure swing sofa blanket edge (it can save money, so family is recommended to use it) 2. blanket over the entire sofa (recommended reference size equals to the hall carpet 2mx3m) commonly known as the three: Silk (known as Gao Fangsi): Filaments (ratio of hair): 1300D silk feels comfortable, non slip hand materials, it's more expensive than acrylic about 40 - 60%.
Q:could i turn my highland out in winter with a summer turnout/sheet with a rambo fleece underneath ( best fleece on the market ) because hes a highland i dont want him caked in thick heavy turnouts. i just think a summer turnout would be enough to keep the snow off his fleece which is really what i want. i will only use this method on snowy/frosty days.
Yeah maybe. But the thin rug may rip easily if he rolls on frosty ground and catches himself, or the snow may melt in the middle of the night and the water will seep through the rug and soak the fleece. You would be better off buying a proper turnout rug. Just use a old summer sheet and see if it works, if not, buy a turnout rug. Good luck! x x :)
Q:How do you make the carpet glued to the tile?
Double sided adhesive glue on the top slab carpet thorn. It is recommended that you do not glue it. Once the carpet doesn't work, it will be troublesome to clean the glue. The better thing is to use double glue to prick the top, so that it can be reused.
Q:i have a huge braided wool rug and was wondering if i could use a bissel home carpet shampooer on it. if not, how can i give it an all over cleaning? i cant afford to take it anywhere professional
If you have a handmade or antique rug, save your pennies and take it to a cleaner that specializes in oriental rugs. If you're in a large metropolitan area, price several places. Whatever else you do, don't use a carpet shampooer on it. If it is really dirty, and you have access to a unit that doesn't use any kind of bristle brush - just water and suction (set to low) then try that using distilled water alone (essentially you'll be rinsing the rug, but that will lift a fair amount of dirt). Since the rug is wool, use cool water, since you don't want it to shrink.
Q:I have a large sisal rug that has been spilled on cat-vomited on, and who knows what else. Trying to spot-clean the stains hasn't been productive. What should I do?
Hey,i happen to have a sisal rug myself!! Firstly, it depends on the kind of sisal rug you have. There are two types: synthetic fiber, which may contain nylon or wool-blend materials; and natural fiber, made of plant products such as sea grass, paper, or coconut fibers. To safely clean synthetic-fiber sisals, follow the manufacturer's directions, which may recommend hot-water extraction or a dry-cleaning method. Manufacturers of natural-fiber sisals suggest only a dry-cleaning method. Do not steam-clean or wet-shampoo; liquids or excessive dampness may cause these rugs to shrink or pucker. For spot-cleaning a stain, lightly mist the area with the manufacturer's recommended cleaning solution (do not pour or heavily apply any cleanser directly onto the rug). Then blot the damp area with a white towel and continue blotting until the stain is removed. A fabric protectant may be applied to both types of sisal rugs during the manufacturing process or by the consumer. But regular wear and tear and cleaning can decrease its effectiveness; it may need to be reapplied.=] thx,
Q:I have a massive rug on my floor carpet. We have it because our carpet is maroon and carpet is brighter so during the day and night, the room doesn't look that dark. The problem i am facing is that my rug is sliding/moving (slowly) towards the way we walk. I have tried the Rug Tape that we stick under the rug to give it grip, that did not work.I am wondering what other solutions maybe. I will only Screw my rug to the carpet/floor if that is my only option. Every week, we have to move the swing (indoor), the heavy sofa, bird cage (we have pets) and other furniture to actually fix it and it takes a lot of time. I need multiple options if possible, but hopefully some of you may have had this and found a great solution for it. I am willing to spend money to get this problem Fixed. My option does not include getting rid of the rug.Thank you for helping.
I had this problem with a runner over a carpet. I bought a plastic runner that had teeth on the underside. These teeth sunk into the pile of the carpeting. On top of that plastic runner, I placed an inexpensive non slip rug pad the size of the runner and then placed my carpet runner over it. My carpet runner has not slipped or shifted over the wall to wall carpeting. Perhaps you could do this with strips of the plastic runner along the perimeter of the area rug?
Q:How soft is the carpet after washing?
Push the machine aside and remove the brush head. (at the same time, the power plug should be removed at the same time) no one should step on the object before it is wet. At the same time, it should be dried and the air conditioner should be started to speed up the drying rate.Attention: all machines should check the power cord, plug and switch before use. After the machine stops, unplug the power source first. If stop the application of clean towel, contact the chemical parts with clean water, and return the machine to the damp place.
Q:As you can see from the lower half of the picture its slightly yellow. There are afew yellows spots(3-4 1'x1') through out the rug. How would I go about cleaning/reversing the effects?THANKS!
That depends on what the stains are from. If they are from food, some oxygen type cleaners can lighten them, If they are from bleeding of the dyes in the rug colors (which can happen with some inexpensive wool oriental type carpets), there is not much you can do. If it is pet stains, a good professional cleaning company can often remove them. I have owned a lot of oriental carpets and I highly recommend finding a professional cleaner who specializes in cleaning them. It usually costs about $100 to have an 8 x 11 carpet cleaned, but they can make them look (and smell) like new. I don t think you should try to clean the rug with any water based cleaners or shampooing. Some one I know had a rug very much like yours and when they tried to damp shampoo it all of the red color bled into the white areas and ruined it.
