Q:Are plastic sheets resistant to fading from sunlight exposure?
Yes, plastic sheets are generally resistant to fading from sunlight exposure. Most plastic sheets are made from UV-resistant materials which help prevent fading and discoloration caused by the sun's rays. However, prolonged and intense exposure to sunlight can still cause some degree of fading over time.
Q:Perforate a sheet of plastic with a laser
You want to punch in the workpiece do not burn workpieces, must use high power CO2 laser machine, on the workpiece marking speed, that is to say at a certain point of the workpiece energy will stay a short time, you can do not burn plastic.
Q:Basically what are the pros and cons of plastic covering the ground in a effort to keep in warms, moister and produce a vegetable crops sooner in the ground, and bigger. Please don't say google people over there tend to get long winded, rabble on, and get off subject sometimes. Thank you in advance!!
I don't know. I've seen many farms in Australia use plastic on the ground along rows of crops. I think these are drip fed though. I haven't heard of plastic mulch.... it doesn't sound like something I'd want on my veges. When I lived in a more temperate climate (regular frosts in winter and slow starting springs), I'd put the seed in the ground and put the top maybe 1/4 of a plastic bottle over the top and twisted into the ground a bit. Seemed to work fairly well, then when it was warmer and the seedlings were bigger I just took them off. My brother put plastic on bits of his garden (in a more tropical climate) and everything just went manky. The soil got too hot, couldn't breathe properly and there was mould issues. The seedlings all died. You can always start the seedlings indoors - although I've never had much luck transplanting them.
Q:Transparent plastic swimming-pool covers called solar heat sheets have thousands of small air-filled bubbles that resemble lenses. The bubbles in these sheets are advertised to focus heat from the sun into the water, thereby raising its temperature. Do you think these bublles direct more solar energy into the water? Defend your answer.
The best cover would be as the one described but with a black underside which would absorb the sunlight converting it to hat which would be transferred to the water. The air bubbles do 2 things, They make the cover float and they act as a heat insulating layer preventing the heat of the water escaping. Their efficacy as a lens is doubtful.
Q:Are plastic sheets resistant to discoloration from humidity?
Yes, plastic sheets are generally resistant to discoloration from humidity.
Q:What I mean is like, is there anything else besides white, translusant, black or clear sheets of shrinky dinks/shrinkable plastic. And if so, where can a purchase them?
You could run it through printer or colour with pens, just remember the colour gets darker when it shrinks. this site has some coloured sheets.
Q:So I went to staples and had them laminate like 8 papers I HAVE to have laminated by tomorrow.... And I picked them up, came home, and they were literally my papers stuck between 2 plastic sheets. I can peel it easily and it is not sticking at all. Am I supposed to do something or did they mess up and forget something???? Please help!!!!
It sounds like they messed up. My guess is that the machine was not hot enough to allow the laminate sheeting to bond. Yes, you should call them and go back. Laminating IS two plastic sheets with a paper between. However, when the machine is very hot, the plastic softens and bonds. Did you trim the papers? You should always leave a narrow edge of plastic around the edges, perhaps a quarter inch. If you trim it exactly against the paper, there is nothing on the edge to seal and bond. If they did the trimming, then check the edging. If there is a quarter edge beyond the paper and it is separating, then take it back. That could be a machine not hot enough. Take your receipt.
Q:I want to build a faster oven for drying plastic sheets. I currently us an 8'x8' low temp gas oven but need to dry more material faster. I've seen info on a woodworker that built a Microwave dryer for large wood projects and wonder if the same technology can be used to dry plastic. A major concern of course is containing the microwave radiation. I'm open to any safe ideas.
It can be done, and done safely, although microwaves might not be the best source of energy for that particular application. Radio frequency energy might be a better choice. Unfortunately, this forum isn't really the best place for a detailed discussion. Click the source link below and feel free to make contact.
Q:I'm looking to get my hands on some sheets of kydex to use for making my own custom gun holsters (or attempt to make some). I'd rather not have to order them off the web. I live in northern indiana and haven't been able to find anything around but my search hasn't gone on to long. If any body knows anything that would be great.

Q:Are plastic sheets resistant to cracking from vibrations?
Plastic sheets can vary in their resistance to cracking from vibrations, depending on the type of plastic used and its thickness. Some plastics, like polycarbonate, are known for their high impact resistance and ability to withstand vibrations without cracking. However, other types of plastic may be more prone to cracking under certain vibration frequencies or intensities. It is important to consider the specific plastic material and its properties when assessing its resistance to cracking from vibrations.
